6 months after hiring a car in Johannesburg, my company credit card was debited with 14 small amounts on the same day (3 Oct 2019). TOTAL: R3870.90!I called and was informed that the Cape Town branch handle the accounts. I called the Cape Town branch who admitted that the deductions of R295 each, was a mistake and they refunded the money in 11 separate payments on 8 Oct 2019.Then at 2am I was woken up by several messages from the bank as Hertz deducted several amounts of R295 again. I was forced to get up and cancel my credit card by reporting it stolen, just to get the deductions to stop (30 Oct 2019)As per previous reviews, this scam is done on a regular basis! If they steal from all their customers, several small deductions of say R295 then imagine how much they steal monthly or annually! R295 thousand or R295 million, who knows...!

Beside the fact its a 1 man show, they havent released their exuberant deposit to my account. Talking about it could take up to 30 days. What nonsense is that, in the digital world. Protect your money dont rent from them.

Extremely disappointed only because I use hertz so often without issues . They knew exactly the trip we were doing , from Capetown to joburg with stops on the way, and they guaranteed the capped km’s they gave us would be sufficient . i blame myself too for not checking the math. Surely enough, we blew through almost 50% in the first week , and it was a month long rental. No other companies had limited kms. Luckily we were able to cancel our contract in port Elizabeth, and use our refund to go with budget (unlimited kms and half the price for insurance). By far they had the most expensive insurance too . They say it’s all included in the price and then go on to say how tire and windshield insurance is separate . Be careful, that’s how they get you!

Very nice guy checked us in, but it really took a lot longer than it should have. I think it was about 45 minutes from arriving to when we got the car. And we were the only ones there.

I rented a car at Hertz in Johanesburg (Lanseria airport) and they sent me an invoice with the expenses of the trip later. However, when I looked at my bank details I saw that they charged me another extra 580 rands without telling me what was that for. I called customers service and no one replies. I am waiting for an explanation. I will never rent a car with this company again. Terrible (none) costumer service.

16:40, I get to their offices in Crystal Towers, Canal Walk, ask if they have any vehicles available, and their response : No, its closing time...but they only close @ 17:00...

Very friendly and helpful staff; only pity is that it doesnt open during weekends so u cant drop off vehicle here during weekends.

Doubts about the honesty of this agency .. a tiny impact on the windshield .. and there must change all the windshield before .. 200 euros bill more for a rented car 60 euros ..So take a good look at your windows to see them take a picture before taking the car .. I thought I should only do this in Thailand or India .. and not also in South Africa.
