This honestly revolutionized road trips for me. I used to go camping or staying at a guest house. This is the perfect in between. No pitching tents or packing bags. A camper is a lock-up-and-go setup, absolutely perfect for South Africa. I enjoyed the 2-seater, as it was small and easy to drive with, getting in wherever I need to get in. I cant see how I will everagain attempt a South African road trip in anything else.

This was an insane trip! We arrived in Cape Town, the van was ready to go, the staff went around and showed us everything with a big smile. They also gave us many tips for our own road trip: places to visit, restaurant to taste, wine to drink, waves to surf. It was crazy.Definitely recommend it to anyone looking to travel South Africa.

Terrible service. Postponed appointment; made us wait; rude when we told them double bed of 1meter wide is too narrow. Even the apology turned out rude. No sense of being nice to potential clients and their connections. No reason to recommend them, based on our experience.

The only way to truly own your vacation on the southern cape.TRAVEL: We enjoyed so much flexibility being able to pick up and go wherever we wanted. If the rain comes in we headed to where it was sunny. The van handled phenomenally on all the roads we traversed. We did two self drives in the game reserves (Bontebok, Addo).FOOD: Every day we J able to replenish at a grocery. The fridge packed easily 3 to 4 days of perishable food. Cooking supplies provided were great and we cooked nearly every meal.CAMPGROUNDS: Every camp ground was above our expectations (Highly recommend the national parks: Bontebok, Storms River, Addo).OVERALL: Best bang for the buck experience weve had on our nearly 7 month trip around the world. Only regret is we wish we allotted more time to explore. Ideally 10 days to comfortably do it all. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! The owners are the nicest guys and after chatting about everything to do, were decided on coming back to do another camper van vacation.

We loved every minute of our Happy Campers experience. Our road trip took us from Cape Town to Namibia and back. The beauty of the van life was that we were able to set up camp, and pack up, all within 15 minutes. This took away so much hassle, and enabled us to visit seven different camp sites over a week-long trip. Highly recommended!

We hired this camper for a film production vehicle to have an office on wheels. It worked fantastically and we would recommend this to anybody!!

Happy Campers is the van life experience your are looking in South Africa for multiple reasons, among others : the value, the equipment, the professionalism etc.The van experience is one of the best to try in South Africa as you are free to go wherever you want and be sure to be accepted in practically all camping sites.Eric has been perfect from the beginning to the end. He was interested in our trip, gave us some tips and was very caring. He gave us some extra blankets that were very useful during winter time.We had a little issue with the solar battery and he found a solution in the minute.We had such a good service, we were so embarrassed when we realize we have lost the table. Happy campers are so helpful and nice, its important to be careful with the equipment in return.We keep very good memories and had one of the best experience so far.We recommend à 100% !!

Really great experience renting out a Happy Camper. The van was easy to drive, super comfortable to sleep in and had enough space. Stephen was super helpful and the whole process was hassle-free.

If anyone is on the fence about where to go for a vacation, go to South Africa. If anyone is going to South Africa, Happy Campers is the only way to experience it. I would do this trip ten times over with this crew. Stephen and Eric are excellent hosts. They provided everything we might need from suggested campsites, tips and tricks, and fully loaded campers. From our initial communication to our major delays in airline travels, they were so accommodating to our needs. I would suggest anyone who has the travel bug to go ahead and pack your bags, book a flight, and contact Happy Campers...like today. Its honestly the best trip Ive ever taken.

Can’t say enough about how fantastic this experience was. Eric and Stephen were kind and knowledgeable and offered advice and suggestions on how to make the most of our trip across South Africa. The vans are comfortable and instantly feel like home with everything you need, from cozy blankets to convenient things like pots and pans that make camping a breeze. Even after two weeks of travel, it was hard to say goodbye. This was the adventure of a lifetime - and we can’t wait to go back!

We rented a Happy 3 in and out of Cape Town and we LOVED it. We drove all the way to the end of the Garden Route and came back via Oudtshoorn. Happy Campers Happy 3 was more than perfect: it was clean, confortable, has amazing storage and the necessities helped us live the vanlife at its very best. I would totally recommend this campervan company to anyone whos interested in visiting South Africa at their own pace, in a house on wheels that will make you feel like home.

What a nice roomy motorhome, cleverly equipped with all the stuff you need to camp in style!The space is great! How nice to be able to stand upright in the van when dressing or undressing with all you need around you! Lots of nice light at night - the small but effective reading light is so handy when lying down in the comfortable bed . And what a pleasure to have USB ports in the wall to charge both your phone and your battery bank at the same time , next to the bed! The kitchenette is so cleverly designed too - just great to have access to everything from inside and outside with the sliding door open when having a picnic - even a nice washing basin with a fresh water tap. The fridge is a winner and the solar charged separate batteryis capable of keeping it on continuously , ensuring nice cold drinks like Coke, beer, Savannah and white wine all the time. And so nice to be able to walk around the front seat to get to the fridge when underway. One has a glorious 180 degree view from the front seat - exceptionally high , for a great bird’s eye view. There is so much space for one’s luggage and supplies , especially behind and under the double bed and above the front cabin, accessible from inside . The radio and CD player were a treat. So impressed with the motorhome’s performance - it does 140km/h easily and with the 6 forward gears one can keep the revolutions low and save fuel.All in all a great and happy experience - I have booked the same motorhome again next year!!
