If there were enough space, I would tell my story so that others might benefit from my experience. Google limits your space but the bottom line is, the truck they sent me out with had two different sets of tires--on a 4WD vehicle with 150k on it. Had two blowouts on the same wheel within a week of each other. The first on desert gravel in Namibia and the second on sealed tarmac in the Northern Cape. They fixed the first and paid for two new tires so that the truck now had four of the same tires (as it should have had all along...) The second they made me pay for and were not willing to acknowledge that the wheel itself might have had a problem. Nor were they concerned that the blowouts could have been worse and that I and others might have been seriously injured.When I returned the vehicle I knew I had to pay for a cracked windscreen but their technician took the car out for a drive (something Ive never seen another rental outfit do..) and when he returned pointed out a barely noticeable ding on the vehicle and said Id have to pay for it. $300 according to an estimate they sent me a week later. This seemed rather petty to me, again, as the vehicle had over 150k on it and this little ding had no affect whatsoever on the trucks performance or rentability. Given the hassles I went through with the truck— driving to their shop in Windhoek when the timing belt light went on during my rental, something I shouldnt have had to do, along with the double blowouts which they dismissed as driving hazards of Africa and which could have caused a serious accident that might also have involved others, I thought Africamper might do the decent thing and just forget it. But they didnt which I found surprising and kind of small minded. And I dont know if they even bothered fixing the ding with the money I paid or just put it in general cash flow.Ive posted photos of the tires that blew out below. The second blowout was especially troublesome as it got wrapped around the rim and I had to dig it out--the jack in the truck was not tall enough for the job.Im giving this experience three stars instead of two since the truck performed well otherwise and they did get back when I contacted them with problems. But the way they stuck me at the end left a bad taste in my mouth.

The car was defect and can`t fixed on the way, because they have no service partner available. After the journey, the car rental company sends the personal customer data to a company, called ekomi, without approval or asking the customers.

We used their camper in Namibia: excellent vehicle, robust and well equipped. Honest price, in line with the market. Recommended.
