It a very lovely place can go surfing by the sea and both mountain and sea view is amazing.

What a very nice resort to take the family and enjoy the day at the beach. There is a tidal pool and nice clean toilets. The braai areas and facilities is just beautiful. The scenic views are simply breathtaking. Its a real fantastic venue to escape to and have fun.

Awesome place to visit if youre able to get there on a day without wind. Its an excellent spot to go surfing and the birdlife is also great. The facilities are well looked after and the area is cleaned regularly. The area was great for relaxing and having a nice braai. I would recommend going as early as possible before the class. Cape Town wind picks up.

Had a relaxing day by the beach.

Stunning location and fabulous education centre! We visited for a day of lectures outside the confines of a lecture theatre. I would definitely recommend the education centre to anyone looking for a scenic, comfortable and affordable venue.

Huge resort with different areas for camping and picnics. Beautiful nature. Beautiful coastline. Picnic area was used by noisy campers. Other area was used by families, with no music out of cars. Security was always walking around. The police did three drive troughs in one day. I hope it was just because they was bored. Clean ablutions with hot water. Reception was perfect.Some ground cover thorns are spreading in the camping area. I saw three broken pieces of glass. Not a problem, but there was rude graffiti on the walls. Great place for the week, great on a non-busy week. I will not stay here over holidays.

Good security and toilets and showers very clean

Nice place with tidal pool. For camping or day visit there is an entry fee. Plenty of public toilets available. Braai area available with table and chairs and lapa type cover. Far from shops. They are strict with alcohol usage.

Beautiful place, lovely by the sea, peaceful environment for relaxing. Visit the Kelpshack for a meal.

Love this place , been going there since I was a kid , been nicely revamped , not too full , ample parking and good fishing ( for my daughter at least :) )

Entry prices, Adults - R14 and Kids - R7- Really beautiful place for a family day- Very cheap for day visitors- Lots of braai spots (which are clean)- Shaded areas to sit under with a table- Toilets are clean (but gets closed way before having to be out of the facility)- Friendly Staff- Tidal pools

It was my place to be when I was growing up today I brought my grandkids to have fun at Soetwater quite upgraded. Will be back love love love Soetwater

We enjoyed it until we were told by a passing official that we are not allowed to picnic there. No signs or any indication.

Weve been to soetwater numerous times and always had an awesome time. However, this Sunday past , we were highly disappointed when we, four cars with four families, all the way from the northern suburbs, pulled up to closed gates after having confirmed price, gates opening times and other information the Tues before. At the gates we were informed that the resort has not opened as yet. So I ask this: y couldnt the lady I made enquiries with the Tues before just say they not open as yet instead of still telling me we allowed to set up gazebos?!

What a great place to spend with family and friends. I wish I had stayed longer. The fact that its so safe, military personnel on guard, just makes it more worth it to take your family there.

Amazing place to visit. Cub camp was enjoyed by all. Staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the drive and entry fee.

Mildly disappointing. Rotting seaweed among the rock pools. Sand flies everywhere and a lack of demarcated walkways. The water was a good temperature. The metro police officials on duty were much friendlier than the staff of camp site. Although the staff was quite helpful and accommodating.

My family and I visited the Soetwater Resort yesterday. It was so disappointing to pay for a full day, only to discover that the public pool and childrens baby pool facility was unavailable. A large group of people came for pick-nick, the children wasnt satisfied at the stench of the stagnated water. It is season time, a beautiful destination, however, if the pool area could be maintained on a regular basis, definitely more people would visit the popular attraction.Kind RegardsMargo Rose Adams

Use to be our quik go to camping. Would love to be placed at the caravan park again during off season camping for beter security and peace.

Very beautiful place with the mountains on the one side and the ocean on the other.Watch out for the eggs laid on the sea shore by the oyster catcher They will let you know when you are near their nests, dont worry.The Oyster Catcher is an endangered species!!!

Camping at Soetwater is good for being close to nature and a rough it kind of camp. The most challenging part of camping here is the strong wind that could easily flatten you tent if not tied down.

A very strange experience. It looks like a huge camp ground. Lots of campsites and ablutions, but absolutely nobody there! Apart from the unfriendly guard at the gate it was empty. It was the start of school holidays so you would at least expect one tent or caravan. Looked like there where beautiful sites right next to the ocean. This could be the best campsite in South Africa, but it seemed abandoned. It did not feel safe enough for my wife and I to camp so we left. I got a feeling that this site is mostly used by locals during weekends to braai and picnic. Due to its remote location safety was my main concern to stay the night. What a shame.

Beautiful setting, not too busy on the Sunday we went. Felt safe. Braai facilities and public toilets was nice and clean.

Nice enough views and facilities for a commercial campsite. Just not for everyone. Its more like party campsite with thumping music non stop (literally 24hrs). If thats your thing then I guess its fine.There are numerous signs that stipulate no alcohol but this is blatantly ignored by everyone, security gaurds included.There is also no shade so bring a gazebo but then again the wind is also a big problem so watch the weather.

Unfortunately due to lack of control the camp will not see our family again. Rules that are on your booking sheet is not enforced. People go there and drink as much as possible party until they fall over or untill the sun comes up. Toilets needs a really good clean! Music is played as loud as possible 24/7. People abuse the lack of control measures and really behave barbaric!

A lovely daytime retreat from the city. Basic facilities, take a picnic and walk on deserted beaches. Take normal precautions re your safety.

Cool place to be at only the facility lacks a few basics. Plumbing substandard grass almost non existant. Got stuck parking my caravan on the plot.

Great place with fantastic seaviews however caravan park facility and ablution areas need serious uograde. Toilets and showers have been vandalised and not the same as per my previous visits. Due to water restrictions the grass is now sand. Management should consider placing concrete slabs on caravan sites

Security not helpful at all we arrived 10min after closing time and they totally refused to help us, wanted to camp for new years eve.We arrived there at 16:10 and there was plenty space still.
