Very neat supermarket with wide variety and friendly staff.

For a start there is ample parking. The store is well stocked with an excellent range of good quality products at a reasonable price. There is also a nice little coffee shop in the store where my wife and I sometimes have the breakfast which we have also had for lunch on occasions. The store staff are also helpful and friendly which helps to make it a good shopping experience.

Although this Spar is conveniently close to me, i have found on numerous occasions that they mark items on special and when you scan at the till, the item is more than they priced it on special, when questioned about the price difference they make out that they have done nothing wrong. I bought a sachet of cappuccino and they wanted to charge me R49. 99 for one sachet??? I can buy a whole box for that price, not to mention the multiple other time this has happened. I refuse to shop at Sonstraal Spar after the experience this evening, their staff and managers refused to assist in a calm and helpful manner, from now on i will rather drive a little further down the road and go to checkers in cobble walk where this does not happen.No thank you never again. Goodbye spar Sonstraal i will ask everyone i know to never buy from you either#CheckersCobbleWalk is literally down the road from Sonstraal Spar worth small under 2 minute drive.

First time visit..very impressed with the cleanliness of the shop. Excellent display of products. Magic staff - offered us pensioner discount without us having to ask for it.

The SPAR is always neat & tidy, shelves well stacked with a great selection of goods. Complaint 1: The Bakery section lets you down badly, I visit the store daily and my experience at the Bakery is seldom enjoyable, in fact I cringe knowing I need something from that department. The staff are completely absent minded, they ignore you most of the time, when they do assist, it appears that you are an absolute nuisance to them Complaint 2: The check out experience is also not that great, tellers insist on taking to each other and other staff members, whilst assisting you, they very seldom make eye contact and again, not not appear to realize how fortunate they are to have a job. Perhaps I do not understand the management ethos, but the staff at Bakery and Check-out, need a stern talking to

I found the service slack today. At the bakery section they dont seem to be focused on customer service. The bakery should be the most joyous place there, surrounded by yumminess!!!Guys packing the shelves are always helpful when needing some assistance.

A shopping experience, from floorstaff, packers, veggies and fruit, bakery till operators, then the Manager, all courteous, helpful, ready to promote not produce only, but the Spar as a whole. Isles well stacked, checked and maintained. Can linger for hours, no hurry. The section specialists know their produce, catering for young and old. No crampedness, the eating nook, to die for. Great Spar to buy groceries. However if you want to go to the spar restaurant stay away to avoid disappointment. Terrible service and a lack of staff makes it a recipe for disaster with a dash of unfriendlyness. We had to leave without being helped and didnt even buy our groceries as planned. This is really a good Spar. Their shop is clean and well organized and they stock a great variety of product at good prices. Friendly staff and there is never long queues at the till points. Fast and friendly service. Best filter Coffee ever and awesome low prices for the filter coffee. Go and see for your self.

The Covid 19 regulations are not enforced, not for staff or customers. It is very dangerous to shop at this store now especially with the resurgence of the virus in the Cape Metro.I was treated in a belligerent manner for requesting compliance.

Just visited this shop and bought a Jacobs Cappucino stick priced round about R5 and was charged R45. When I confronted cashier about it she walked away abd came back witha supervisor. Nobody alologised. WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMERSERVICE??????????

The prices here are ok. What makes it nice is the beantree cafe that offers the beantree breakfast which is great value for money.

Now this is my store!! We live close-by and have to say that before living that side i never shopped at Spar. Back then it was only Kraaifontein spar that was nearby and my oh my is that not a terrible one. The people shop in their Pjs, its just a mess and the shops employees are of no help. Sonstraal Spar always have fresh produce and meat. The meat is always on a special. I do not know why people say that Checkers are cheap cause Spar is really taking them on!! One thing i can add is that many of the employees are aware of the cameras.... like i say i Shop there A LOT! DAILY... When they pack the veg fridge they are on their phone... When they stand in front of the veg scale the phone is under the counter, and they stand by the shelf with the Xilotol on... There is literally only one lady working in produce that is always on the post, and never have i seen her on her phone, wish I knew her name...

Was there Monday morning for an interview at 9am. Arrived early (8am) and sat at bean tree for a drink. Had to wait 20 min to find the lady and place a coffee order. 9am arrives and I get ready. Nothing. 1 hour later did I only see the manager Donavan (in shorts, t-shirt with open jacket) not very formal nor semi-formal yet expecting everyone else to dress decent. I had to ask all the questions in the interview as not much was said on their side, and wanting me to yes or no. When I say yes, then all of a sudden Im taking advantage... I dont understand, is that how an interview is handled or what?...

The complete outlay of the revamped store is outstanding. I was amazed at how neat & spacious it looked. The tillpoints at both the doors has made a vast difference especially to me as I use a walking stick & cannot stand in long queues. Well done Spar.

Still the best Spar with very friendly staff. We will drive past Checkers to rather shop here...the meat prices are now a bit high. Good quality but I would expect a large retailer to offer better prices on chicken and steak.

I have been supporting this Spar for 16 years. It was always a pleasure to shop there. However, lately there is a tendency to employ illiterate blacks at the tills. Still no problem, but the employment of illiterate black supervisors over the illiterate till operators is pushing the envelope a bit. I demand friendly, competent service and sadly it is no more. Farewell my beloved Superspar.

Wish I new it before I commit to send it to school; just could not help to wonder if every donut in there was on order ??? I would rather sell out @19:15 and made fresh ones the following day.
