I love this meat shop on Rosemead Avenue. Owner-managed, by Bertus, who is always on hand to answer a question or to make a suggestion. Ask him for ideas! The meat is real quality and they will cut what every you ask for or customized your request. They are very helpful and I suggest that you ask to be put on their WhatsApp group if you want first dibs on new specials. If you can plan in advance then call in your order ahead of the busy weekend. Enjoy!!

Asked the butcher politely and in a soft tone as to not garner the attention of the other customers and effect his business, to wear his mask properly as it was not covering his nose and he was breathing on the meat.The owner responds, are you going to eat the meat raw or cook it? facetiously.I then asked him, what about the biltong, do people cook that, or the packaging?He said I had made my point, again in a facetious tone, when I drove away I saw the butcher still had his mask below his nose.Avoid this place!

Been going to Meat The Butcher for a while now and always love going there. Excellent service and knowledgeable friendly staff. The fillet is very soft and pork beer sausage was an very tasty surprise! Bonus: the wood they sell is very dry and perfect for braaiing.

A sight for sore eyes in a market that is controlled by the Supermarket chains. Meat the Butcher is providing incredible meats at competitive pricing and has sustainability and traceability in mind. If you are needing a specific cut they will also make a plan. Just going in for their speciality sausages made weekly is enough for me.
