Great Place to go and reflect at the ooe water and tidal pool.. Kids enjoyed scrambling through rocks and water with fishing nets.. Bit slippery and can be a bit dangerous so go when the fisherman are present.

Great place to do water activities. I urge you to join 9 Miles Projects when going surfing there.

Very nice beach for the whole family. What needs improvement is the current infrastructure. The toilets needs a major upgrade. There needs to be a small shop or take aways, so that people can buy and sell. The roads where the Fishermans catching fish needs to be upgraded as well.Overall its a beautiful view.

Situated between Muizenburg and Khayelitsha on the East Coast of Cape Town, it is a lovely family-oriented place which, if developed properly, could become a Mecca of fun because of the warm waters and fishermen friendly environment.

Beautiful beach! Tidal pool is perfect for the kids to splash around in as it isnt deep at all, life guards are always present on a weekend. More of safe environment now with police patrolling around the area all weekend as well.

It has a tidal pool thats shallow for children to play in sea water. The beach is a few meters away where one can enjoy the ocean waves. It has no shops that is open except during festive seasons. It is a popular attraction for the locals.

Facilities are kept clean. Tidal pool is huge and great for kids. Lifeguards on duty during summer season.

The edge pool type of thing they built there drives me crazy.It is awesome.Pollok beach-PE is my favourite but this must be the closest competitor.I am super impressed.

It was very nice but the pool is not as deep as before for the swimmers..... lack of security and the individuals talking over speaker speaks too soft, one hears a voice with an occasional word or two...

Strandfontein Pavillion has the biggest tidal pool in the Southern Hemisphere with great views and unspoilt beaches either side of the Pavillion, has Blue flag status and also great for angling and surfing.

Beautiful, Serene and everyone that parks alongside you was friendly. Cape Town had some of the most beautiful places and also the warmest of people.

Developed late seventies early eighties, this was the place to spend your holidays - there used to be the A-campsite opposite which was much in use during vacation periods, but sadly no longer.One of the larger tidal pools making for safe swimming for kids with the beach proper immediately adjacent on both sides of the pool.Well maintained with a lots of city council staff around. Ample parking as well. Unfortunately no kiosk or anything anymore so take your own edibles. Currently the tidal pool is being revamped for the holiday season.The area next to the tidal pool is also used by fishermen with rods.

Great beach with tidal pool for the people around the area. Lifeguards are on duty and there is usually law enforcement officers patrolling to ensure public safety.

Nice cool breeze and the water isnt as cold as your Big Bay neither are the waves frightening to kids. Its not ideal for a family outing though as theres isnt sufficient space to erect gazebos or beach umbrellas and chill. Overall, its okay.

Sad this once vibrant nightclub restaurant promenade has gone into utter decay. The buildings are a danger and a hiding place for the criminal element

It you know how to cut yourself from people and your surroundings, then come sit and the rocks here and meditate on your breathing. Nice place to do it!

Good fishing spot, though some dodgy looking characters roaming around when theres hardly anyone around during the quieter hours.

They need to build a concrete jetty next to the slipway for boats and fisherman with lights and benches then only Strandfontein pavilion will become a beach haven for everyone

My children love the tidal pool, its safe and there are always lifeguards on duty. Indian ocean makes it amazing for swimming, even on windy days. Our go to beach.

Will definitely go again but not on a public holiday. Was way to packed there and limited lifeguards on duty. Need more visible lifeguards. There was people walking around offering tags for your kids. If God forbids anything happen to your kids . Your number is on they tag . Great idea.

Nice local beach was upgraded recently. Fishing heaven of mitchells plain. Safe patrols metro police head office nearby.

Seriously Strandfontein Pavilion is in need of an upgrade. The day spent with the school surf walk was nice. As we supported family and friends children doing the surf walk. It ended with a demonstration of the National Sea Rescue which was very educational for the learners. Families made an outing of the surf walk so they enjoyed having meals here.The beach needs cleaning up. Buildings are not attractive as it needs new windows and a paint. Also there is no shops in the area. Lots of parking bays. Theres also fishing done in this area.

Nice fishing sport for anglers. Its important to stay alert and not go alone. Area can be a bit dangerous when alone, however great to improve infrastructure and security is noted.

This beach was set aside for certain races during the Apartheid era. After apartheid, people started going to other better beaches. It is a bit isolated, if you are not a local you are worried that some unsavoury character might come from nowhere and relieve you of quite a few things. But otherwise apart from personal fears it may turn out to be a fun place.

A safe, white sands beach with a calm tidal pool. Toilets are clean and well maintained. Police presence during weekdays. Visible policing is a great thing if you were wondering. 😀

This is a very nice Beach and Tidal pool,i and my wife stopped there when we were on Vacation and we could not believe that a nice place like this is so quiet,it is if it is almost forgotten. Lovely picnic site.

Great if you are going fishing, or planning on jumping into the local tidal pool. Not really very safe for tourists, not a place to be flashy. Local spot for local people.

Beautiful beach and tidal pool, a great area. The beach is perfect for beginning surfers, the guys at the 9miles project (located to the right of the pavilion) are great and provide surfing lessons.

Its a lovely place depending on the season amd paek of course, be self sufficient though, gazebos etc. It can become busy and unfortunately inadequate security/law enforcement and lifeguards. Alot of potential though.

Nice beach, very safe coz theres city police patrolling. The life guards are very active. Theres a secure pool area for kids. If you want to swim as an adult...the beach area is a bit far. Muzingberg is still the best for me....personal choice.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING BEACHES EVER.....NOT TOO OVERCROWDED, HAS A POOL FOR THE KIDS AS WELL AS THE BEACH, TIGHT CONTROL BY THE POLICE FOR SAFETY...BEST PART IS THAT THEY HAVE A TRACKING SYSTEM FOR KIDS IN CASE THEY GET LOST OR STOLEN....WATER IS WARM...BEACH IS CLEAN..GREAT ENVIRONMENT FOR A FAMILY DAY AT THE BEACH...LOVED MY DAY THERE....NOT LIKE THE CONVENTIONAL BEACHES OF CAMPS BAY,HOUT BAY, SEAPOINT..ABSOLUTELY AMAZING...WOULD RECOMMEND FOR ALL
