The saloon was super neat and clean. The service was quick and efficient. The rates were affordable. I loved everything about this place.

I recently moved to Mowbray and few months ago. As brothers know, when you move from the states, one of the first things you want to try to do is find a skilled black barber you can trust. Weve all either had or know someone whos had a bad experience with a barbershop.So I had been recommended this place by a couple of friends. I recently took my son there to check it out. My son, being much more temperamental about the barber than I, was highly skeptical at first. But alas, his choice was either to go without his hair cut or experiment with a new barber.So we went for a cut and as we were leaving, I couldnt hear the end about how, oh, hes the best barber ever, and can I always get my cut from him.I was particularly impressed by the shops high degree of professionalism and their dedication to taking a high degree of hygiene measures amid covid-19. The shop is fairly small, but they have sanitizer at the door, ensure they sanitize the clippers immediately after each cut, the barbers themselves maintain their white barber coats seemingly without a single speck of hair and the floors were spotless.I dont know of many other barbershops in South Africa, truth be told, but by my comparative expereince from barbershops back home in St. Louis, the standards here are good. I would definitely recommend this shop if youre new to cape town and looking for a fresh cut.

I call Narcisse my friendly barber. Remember the first day I went there for a shave, and got my hair washed afterwards (chiskop). It helps if you have already washed and just want to shave your hair or beard. When UCT students are around it tends to get very packed, but the wait is smooth as Narcisse hooks you up with music and sport on the screens. Upstairs waiting area even has a microwave, but Wi-Fi would be nice. The conversations will range from advice on property to politics, and guys asking for a guarantee after shaving. The guys are friendly people and I assure you, you will never mind the wait.

I have used these guys since i came for university at UCT in 2012, and i have never ever gone anywhere else. Its the first barbershop were anyone who cuts know how to cut you kust right. I now stay in Plumstead, but i still drive to come to them
