Mr Cobbs is the best place to relax in this town. Cutting your beard becomes an experience. This place is authentic. Thank you and see you next week!

This sis the most ridiculous business. You cannot make an appointment to get a hair cut. Yes the environment is wonderful, but haircuts are something that take time and therefore you need to make sure you allocated a time and a date for them. For them to telly its a case of first come first served, is not catering to the needs of clients. I will never use them again

Choosing Mr Cobbs for the experience knowing it would be a pricey hair and beard cut was supposed to be a nice morning last Saturday with my Dad and brother for our first time there.. getting all ready to go look at my suit after for my wedding day and it was terrible for R500 beard and hair cut it was not worth the experience at all I couldnt believe how this guy was shaving my beard aggressively and against the grain as if he had no clue what he was doing and making me bleed.. watching him do my dad afterwards and making him bleed too.. my face now 4 days later has some serious skin issues now.. your lack of professionalism, skill and my time.. was not worth the experience at all.our Total was at R1500 I will never go back.My guy down the road for beard and hair cut for R140 I walk out smiling and he knows how to cut throat. (Alibarbers) I will go to him for my big day instead.Dont recommend and very disappointed in how your guys are trained..

Such a nice place. Comfy couches and now just next to Starbucks!Ironically. Of all the places I would not mind waiting for a haircut (sipping Starbucks on plush couches is my thing), they are super efficient and quick and dont make me wait long at all - even if they are busy and Im just a walk in.Also the haircut is better than I have had anywhere else.

This is an fancy looking place with, unfortunately, lacking service. On th search for a hairdresser I came here to get a simple beard and hair trim (just everything down to 2mm).This took the barber 30 minutes, cutting the hair by hand instead of using a machine as asked (which I accepted while expecting a barber craft experience, which this wasn‘t).At the end, the barber just gave the head a dry towel wipe. When I left (after paying 700 rand) my whole shirt was full of this tiny hairs. So I went back asking for a proper wipe. He just pointed me to a washbasin to help myself. After asking for at least a towel, he gave me one.At least, dear Mr Cobbs, give the head a proper rinse after cutting.

Wonderfull staff and the entire vibe of the store was amazing giving you a feeling of you need to wear a suit to be in the shop.I came in for a beard trim and shape, the shaping was on point and the trim was just as good. Well worth the 260 rands charged for the experience.

Very happy with my chatty barber and resulting baby bum smooth face. The hot shave was nice, disappointed that they didnt use a cut throat or dual edge razor but the outcome and experience is what counts. Will definitely come back when Im next in the area. Some amazing shaving paraphernalia on offer, but pretty much all out of my price range (the silver tip badger brush that caught my eye was R1800). Caught myself singing if I were a rich man on more than one occasion.

If you value your skin please give this place a pass. I wish I had seen the other reviews of this place before subjecting myself to this so called professional barber. I also enjoy the rituals of an old school safety razor shave at home and thought it would be a treat to experience this from a professional. After all, they sell this stuff. 1 day later, I can safely say this has been one of the worst decisions of my life. The ‘professional’ basically scraped off all my facial hair using a disposable cheap plastic cartridge against the grain to make his job easier. I’ve never experienced the pain of Ingrowing facial hair like I’m currently going through. This place is horrific. Please do yourself a favor and save yourself from the trauma this place will put you through.

Called in connection with purchasing beard balm. First man who answered laughed in my ear when asking about for more information about their beard balm as I wanted to purchase it as a gift for my fiance and couldnt help so they said I must call back. 2 minutes later I receive a call back from another man giving me the price since the first man couldnt. Argued with me about what I needed to purchase. All I wanted was to know more about their beard balm. Rude and extremely unhelpful. Definitely would not recommend this place .

Terrible service. They do not make you feel welcome. They guy working there said I look like I come from the bush.I also asked him to trim my beard and keep the length, but he shaved off basically half of it. Yes it was long enough to notice a difference.I told him not to mess with the length of my mustache, but obviously he did what he wanted to do.They are NOT as professional as they look.Dont let the nice outfits and cool looking shop fool you.I would never go back there again and I do not recommend this shop. Rather go to a normal barber shop. They do a much better job.

Absolutely the worst shaving experience I’ve ever had. As somebody who enjoys the art of wet shaving with a double edge safety razor in my personal life, I’ve come to appreaciate what a good shave consists off, certainly care, shaving with the grain Or across but never against are a few of the simple rules. You would think these so called professionals would know what they were doing!?, I made the critical mistake of finding out first hand, 15mins and an over an INSANE R250 later the Moroccan barber had managed to completely butcher my face with a cartridge razor, I spent the next 4 days regretting my life decisions with the worst razor burn of my life. NEVER AGAIN!!!

This shop takes you back in time, nostalgically you can imagine yourself in the 1800s in a real old fashioned english barbershop somewhere in britain. Staff is friendly, and anything a man would ever need for his personal hygiene be it beard or moustache oil or some great male fragrance it can be found and purchased here. Also for the more affluent there is ostrich and crocodile leather wallets manbags belts etcetra. Do yourself a favour and do not miss the oppertunity to visit this timeless gem hidden away in the waterfront.

Ive used this place a 6-7 times now. Everytime being shocked how bad this business is treating customers. Overpriced and they dont care about service. They know that Waterfront is packed with tourists so they dont have to rely on returning customers. This evening I came in an hour before they were closing (8pm). 4 staff members present. All doing nothing. They almost looked scared when they saw a customer coming and told me they were closed because they needed an hour to clean the place before closing.Thats it. Never again.

Be careful from this shop.I came in to ask about aftershave and the seller was really agressive and didnt let me ask anything . In the end I chose someproduct that the guy said its cost two two which normally means 220 Rands, but when I came back to the hotel I realized I was charged for 2,200 Rands. Of course due to a hygiene reasons there are no goods refunds.Be aware of these guys

What a experience. I went in to fix my undercut and to get a trim on my hair. Omg! They literally massacred my hair and with such confidence too. I am absolutely astounded. You’d think they’d say something like “we can’t cut hair but can do a shave on your undercut” but noooooo. They literally put my hair into a pony and chopped it off. I’m going into another hairdresser to fix this monstrosity ...I don’t even know what to call it! Sad day when a place like this can’t just be honest and say “We don’t do this specific thing” and also so rude and cold. Won’t take my worst enemy there! Stay away! Trust me!

This looks like an impressive store. From what I gather, ZAR200 for a hair cut is steep for Capetown. Had my hair cut there. Opted for a shave as well. The guy did not even remove the stray hairs before he started to lather my face with creams after the shave. I ended up having to wipe everything off. Very poor service. Guy seemed rushed.Hot shave here does not mean hot lather and straight edge shave. Buyer beware. Wide berth. Steer clear!

Scam Scam Scam! BEWARE!!! The barber cut my elderly fathers beard, and fooled him at the till ringing up R 2200 worth of aftershave (he is allergic to) WITHOUT HIS CONSENT!!, when we returned the products he used loud and foul language, DONT GO THERE!! Plenty of good places around the waterfront that will treat you with respect and not steal money from elderly men. (one star as I am unable to give a negative rating). Ps: As a business owner I would truly be ashamed if this was my establishment.

Be warned- they use a normal disposable razor not a straight edge. How is this any different to shaving at home? Excuse given was for smooth full shave, disposal but for beard trim straight edge- hogwash. Save yourself the trip and rather visit Yogis at less than half the price.

For a quick mens haircut its fine...although the hair cuttings werent cleaned out of my hair and kept falling down the back of my shirt causing me to itch the rest of the day (would be nice for just a quick rinse or blow dry).Dont bother getting a shave though. They just use a regular disposable razor / not a single blade as you would expect from an old timey barber.

I have to agree with numerous reviewers who said the service is lacking. Service is nonexistent, but you will get overcharged for the privilege. A barber cut that takes an hour while you wait, and wait, and wait. And wait. I can understand the wait at a hairdresser... but at a barber shop? Give this place a miss unless you like slow service, long frustrating waits and high prices.

My bf and I waited 1.5 hours to get our cut cos there was no reservation permitted and the staff kept going out to entertain their friends outside the store. Every 5 mins thru the cut, the kept signalling to their friends outside. Totally unprofessional. They also gave him the worst cut Ive ever seen. Its completely disproportionate to his face. And that was because he got the parting wrong at the start and after correcting for it, it was too short at the top and too long behind. It looked like a 60s hairdo. Seriously. Never ever come here again.

A gentlemen 3 months ago mentioned they were dissapointed because a cut throat razor was not used on them, as well as another gentlemen stating 6 months ago that buyer beware because a straight razer was not used. Let me answer both gentlemen.Q: Why we dont shave with cut throats?A: Because they were banned in the world, apart from apparently Turkey, who will take no notice whatsoever and the reason is because you can’t put the same blade on two different men. And the reason for cut throat shaves to be banned is due to AIDS. Cut throats date all the way back to the Egyptian times and we can only use it if you have your own personal one and supply us with it when you would like us shaving you.
