The new address for FNB Portside home affairs department is the Somerset road branch in green point.A very good experience. I was worried when I saw mixed reviews. But despite a slow system (which is not FNB’s fault), I was helped in 45 minutes. Friendly staff and very efficient.Environment is clean, social distancing is great. No long queues, only about 8 people there at the same time.

I am blown away by the service I received by Home Affairs officials and FNB staff at FNB portside. I used the Department of Home Affairs website to do my passport application. Through the same site I paid and booked my slot for biometrics at FNB portside. My appointment was at 11:00. I was in my car driving away at 11:15. I received an sms two working days later that my passport was ready for collection. I arrived, signed for it and left. Unbelievable. Thank you

Home affairs appointment for passport renewal. Applied online so usual challenges. Eventually done and decided to use FNB Portside. I CHALLENGE anybody to step forward and tell me they were served quicker. Appointment at 13.00. Arrived at 13.00. (caveat, I arrived earlier during the Dept of Home Affairs lunch and left my ID with them and then went for coffee) About 6 people in waiting area. Waited two minutes and name was called. Thumbprint, photo and signatures taken. Walked out at 13.05! I still cant believe it. BRILLIANT! I know I was lucky but sink me sideways with a harpoon. Awesome, brilliant, fantastic! But wait.....like a verimark ad, theres more! Super friendly staff and I cant thank them enough. A simply WOW experience. Applause all round 👏👏👌

This place is the most worthy of a zero star rating. Slow and unprofessional with the System being offline regularly. Crazy to know that you pay a bank so much money and they cant be bothered to assist with the most basic requirements. In this day and age Customer Service is arguably a companys greatest asset. FNB clearly view this as a Liability. Shocking.

Applied online for new passport application in December. Arrived at the appointed time. Was out again in 20mins. 2 weeks later came to collect. In and out 10mins during covid19. Unbelievable. Really impressive. Service like this still exists. Staff needs a raise here compared to the actual home affairs officials

After reading the reviews I was expecting the worst. My appointment was at 2pm today to get a Passport renewed and a Smart ID. There is no parking in the building but plenty outside in Bree street. We arrived 30 minutes early and after 15 mins were called up to the desk-the whole process of photos and fingerprints took about 20 mins. The staff were very friendly and receptive-a great experience all round

If I knew, I would have opened a Standard Bank account and did the ID and Passport at Canal Walk. We felt mislead by FNB advertising. What to expect: Allow 20-30 mins for parking. Arrive 15 minutes early. Be called up to 1hour 30 mins after your appointment. Typically it is a 2-3 hour trip. For us it was 5 hours. FNB advertising is misleading in that they create the impression that it is an FNB service. It is standard Home Affairs in a FNB building. It could have been a building owned by Shoprite and would have made no difference. My wife has done her ID/Passport at Bellville home affairs and it took the same amount of time. The fact that they use a branch in the City, mean you have to deal with traffic and parking, which you do not have in Belville or at Standard bank. It would take you less time to open a Standard bank account and get your ID - And I am not even banking with them, yet.

Terrible customer service. Been waiting on my ID, which i have not been able to collect because of lockdown. Whenever i call to find out if collections are available, i either sit on hold for over 15 minutes each time or you get through and they simply hang up on you.

Do not use the passport service as it has been suspended until further notice, however they still allow you to make payment without informing you of this.I had an appointment for 1pm today. Went all the way only to be told the service has been suspended but my payment will still remain there until the minister decides to continue the servicePathetic! This country is run by a bunch of thieves.

Booked an appointment to do a passport application for my son, did all the required online forms etc via the home affairs website. Arrived at bank early and spoke to person who met us at the door (FNB employee) and asked if we could also do an ID application for the same son. He directed us to complete online forms again. Got to front of queue and home affairs employee says the ID application has now blocked the passport application and neither can be processed. Have now lost the payment and cannot unlock the application.

Hi, I tried to book an appointment only to be told that FNB Portside does not exist and that I need to go to the home affairs website, and the only one that comes up is Bellville. I am very disappointed with FNB, I get told you can do all fancy things if you have an FNB account, but when you try, know one knows what you are talking about

A bunch of time wasters. For 4 weeks I have been waiting for their regional credit manager to get back to me regarding my CC application that keeps being rejected for whatever reason. Every time these liars promise a call back on the same day but nothing happens.Plus these chops charge you R200 per month for your account in order to do vokol.Im done with these people. Im going to close my account and never come back.

It has been 4 months of back and forth with incompetent service agents to sort out business account details with FNB. Shocking Service, Agents & Management take no responsibility once signed up. Particularly refering to Merchant account agents and Business account managers at FNB Portside Branch. It is a big pity that Zulfa no longer works in business accounts.

As nice as the branch is FNB are too cheap to hire more tellers. There are 5 desks available but only 1 teller. It has been like this now for months and months. Really pathetic and poor service if you expect 1 guy to do the job of 5, that’s not fair fnb!!!Expect at least a 30 min wait at any given time.
