Worst experience ever. Im so disappointed in Checkers Willow Bridge. Wasted my time. Used to do all my shopping at this Checkers in person and online, but from now on not.Because I received a pamphlet in postbox with wine specials on Thursday when I got home from work. But I couldnt go buy as no alcohol sales allowed between 6pm Thursday to 10am Monday.So 10am Monday I was at Checkers for this advertised wine special, to buy 10 bottles. But wine special ended, there was small fine print on pamphlet at the bottom saying it ended on Sunday. I left without buying wine and was so irritated at my time being wasted, so I phoned the branch manage Amanda to explain my irritation. She told me to come in before 5pm today and I could get the wine at the special advertised price. I was so happy with her and the checkers I knew, But when I arrived she said no she would only give me 2 bottles, not the 10 that I was going to buy. So I told her not to worry, and I bought nothing and left. Thank you Amanda and Checker for wasting my time twice in one day.I will rethink on which grocery store I support, and encourage everyone to do the same.Im so disappointed in checkers, and to think I used to rave about them to people.

This review is based on 2 visits to this particular Checkers. There will be no further visits.Both complaints relate to the deli selling yesterdays food. Chicken strips so stale and chewy that even my dog struggles to eat them. Stop selling not fresh produce because you can not portion control.

Clean and empty depending on the time of day you visit. I visited about 2 hours before close time and the shopping experience was seamless and quick. Did my monthly shopping in less than an hour

The best checkers store nearest to me. It has everything and more under one roof. Freshest bakery with delicous rolls. Deli meats are also very fresh and there is a variety to choose from. The fresh produce is all of a high standard amd the very best quality. I found that the meat packs and chicken packs are very fresh and there is always stock and of the highest quality. This storr may not be a super store in size but it has everything I need at all time. Always stocked up. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Well done to the management.

Poorly managed, staff always in the way when unpacking. They wait until they run out of a particular product and then order, leaving you to go elsewhere. They used to be the best, how things have changed

I had a problem with my purchase. When I returned to the store to sort it out the staff were helpful and friendly even though they had just closed the doors. I managed to get everything sorted. Thank you.

You should really look into getting a training course for your staff regarding covid and the proper use of ppe equipment. .-Wearing a mask on you chin does not help in anyway.-No concept of social distancing as staff socialize in the isles.

Been coming to this Checkers for the past 4 years on a weekly basis and have rarely been disappointed.The only gripe is the loud “pinging” of the pads scanning the items for online purchase. Sometimes the adding of stock blocks the aisles horribly.

This store is so pathetic, hardly ever has chicken breasts and Coke Zero!

This Checkers is just another example of how corporate companies dont care about waste. Since the Xtra Savings joke-scheme came out, the 50% discount Checkers used to get rid of close-to-expiry goods, simply vanished. Old food is simply disposed of, ON the day. Pointed out some same-day expired food to one of the employees a few weeks ago ~ No sir, there is no discount anymore. New items will be on the rack soon. .. Why not take old food to donation centers at least or give it to a hospice?? This is really disgusting... Welcome to South Africa ~ Land of the abundantly plenty.

I was at Checkers Willowbridge this morning for three items. After queueing for 30 minutes, I was redirected to another two tills before I could pay for the items.Not once was an apology offered. Just a mere, Go To Till 7

It seems Checkers Williwbridge needs to change their trading hours. EVERY SINGE WEDNESDAY they open at 9AM due to staff training. Disrupts so many people busy day when you specially come to Checkers to support them and you have to wait for an extra hour just because the trading hours are incorrect online😡

Pretty large Checkers. Theyve got a pretty small salad bar but a large and still growing section for ready made meals with veg options and loads of dessert options too. Not much home decor here though thats more at Checkers Hyper

This Checkers store is quite well set out and offers a wide range of goods. The fresh veg area seemed to be maintained quite well when I had visited this particular evening. Generally the store was clean and tidy, with most employees giving smiles when asking for assistance. I have yet to try out their cooked meals/foods, but they did look really well presented.Keep up the good work Checkers!

One of rhw worse service Checkers! Over a few visits. Today customers waiting forever for someone to weigh veg. Microwave not working and deli food cold as always.

Website said you are still open and security guard wouldnt let me in to buy dog food, tried using your delivery app continuously during the course of the day and it continously said you are too busy to take anymore orders, definetly not happy. At least change your times on the website its pretty easy to do that.

Always clean and tidy , even during Easter or Christmas and people rushing for last minute shopping. I can always find what I need and prices are good. My Favorite store to shop for food and vegetables are fresh every Tuesday .

Overall pretty happy.They could improve their marketing strategy by not placing those guys that give you tester items/ food at the busiest spots or in the hallways.My dad always does his groceries there but I know he immediately left a few times because of that. Didnt think it was that bad until I saw it.

Great produce section. Great baking section. Wide variety of healthy quick meals for someone who doesnt have time to cook. Great meats and fish available on hand. Good for monthly shopping and quick shopping trips

I stop here almost every day after work. The store has a great variety and the fruit + veg is fresh. Its always very clean. At the end of the day they always have great markdown products. Situated in the Northern part of Willowbridge also means free parking.

Clean and spacious isles. Will definitely shop there again. Even had Brazil nuts that we could not find in any of the other stores. Some items priced better than the Spars and P & Ps. Great selection.

Do most of my shopping here. For a small shop has a good range of products, good quality products, in-house pharmacy and, generally, friendly staff. Ample parking, though the rather zealous car guards can be irritating, but then ... everyone needs to make a living.

Monday gone past I went to Checkers Willowbridge to purchase my moms groceries for the week. There seems to be some smell hanging in the air which is not very pleasant. Secondly the cashiers (not one I would say the majority of them) serving and who is the face of Checkers are the most unfriendly people I have come across in my life. It seems like I am doing them a favor to shop at Checkers Willowbridge. These unfriendly cashiers can thank their stars they have a job and should treat the customers with a smile and respect.This is not the first time I experienced this this kind of service at Willowbridge Checkers. I get the feeling Checkers train their cashiers not to great and say a simple word like thank you. I always great everyone and ask then how they are and say thank you. These cashiers never great or say thank you. I fact one feels un-welcome.I shared my experience with my mom (83 years old) and she also said to me that it is horrible always been a horrible experience for her to shop at Willowbridge Checkers.As a family (my wife, mom and grown up children) spoke about it last night around the dinner table and everone agreed not to shop at Checkers Willowbridge anymore.Disappointed customers.......

Checkers is nice and clean. I went early so the lines werent too long. I do however have an issue with stock. I was there last night as well and nothing much had been restocked. I also find that items on special dont seem to be restocked.

Do the bulk of my shopping here. Good range of produce and shelves generally pretty well stocked. I dont buy meat because I find prices are on the high side, with limited choice. Some of the cashiers can be lethargic in their approach but I have also encountered friendly, helpful staff.

A pleasurable shopping experience to be had at this Checkers. Decently priced and a very clean and neat environment that stays open till late. Also has quite a range of marked down items regularly for the price conscious folk.

This is a very good Checkers with everything you could possibly need.The prices is excellent as per Checkers standards.They do lose one star for the till attendants not being very friendly. They can really go learn from PnP on customer interaction.This will stay my immediate grocery store for the cleanliness and good selection of food, wine, cleanig and all the other household stuff.

Nice to do monthly shopping here. Though the service is sometimes unfriendly. Otherwise great quality goods and fresh fish, meet and persihables. Parking is free and is always easy to find.

Pretty good Checkers. It is at a weird location though, a bit hidden in a corner. Theyve always had everything I was looking for. The main reason I go there is for their Biltong. Their in-house biltong is awesome.

Pretty good. But they claim their cupcakes are made in store and to ask the bakery for the ingredients on the pre-packaged cupcakes. However the bakers could not answer what the icing was, the lady said it was cream cheese we asked her to double check and she came back and said it wasnt actually cream cheese.

Parking convenient. Seldom crowded. Place is neat. Cater for all my needs. Hot foods are to die for.

Pretty much a one stop shop, will have most of the items you need and stays open pretty late even has a small chemists inside. Open on most holidays as well.

We do our food items shopping over 70 % at checkers we compared prices very seriously and we came to the conclusion that they are one of the more conscious price retail Supermarkets, but compare prices very conscious and you will agree that Checkers is more price conscious to give the Customer the best deal. Please do not compare the prices to Giant Hyper in Brackenfell.GunterViet.

It is great to be able to pop into a shop after a long days work and still see friendly staff serving you even on a Friday afternoon.

Wide selection, good lighting, fair prices. In some places, around special offer bins, the aisles become somewhat cramped.

Not one of my favourite Checkers outlets. Not always the cleanest, and the stock supply is never very constant. The staff are however always friendly and willing to help.

As always Checkers never fail to deliver with regards to Fresh fruit, veggies and obviously the whole shebang (everything you need in your home)One thing worth noting about this specific checkers, is that I found their aisle layout super confusing. Related Items are spread around the store which makes it difficult to find what you need without walking through the whole store or without assistance.

Decent Checkers store. Staff not very friendly. Shelf packers refused to stop repacking shelf that we were trying to get to.

Checkers Willow bridge is one of the better stores out there, they still need to get rid of the initial fishy odor when you enter the store, but other than that its decent

The breakfast rolls looked great but once handed to us they were dried out rock hard from the bottom from standing on the heated surface. It was morning and the curry breadsticks and pull apart loaf I got from the bakery counter (after asking whether they were fresh from this morning and being answered yes) were hard and stale so I put it back on the shelf.

Love this store. They are clean, no long queues and open until late. Very convenient.

Friendly staff who will assist you if you cannot find what youre looking for.

They stock some wines from Portugal, and a few other countries also. Good for an occasional change of flavour from the large selection of local wines.

This checkers feels more like a local small grocer with the entrance being full of promotional items that in some instances a special, the queues are small and clients are helped quickly

Always a good time when I do my grocery shopping here. People at the tills are friendly and always helping. Reason for not giving 5 stars is that the people at the bakery needs to be a little bit more helpfull and atleast look like they want to help you.

Server waiving flies sitting on food in deli while dishing from same dishes! Cashers blunt, unfriendly....rather coverse with bag packer who obviosly do not know how to organise bags..... instead of just scanning my purchase! Managers chating .... seems this behaviour goes unoticed. Special offers sold out... and only one attendant serving at hot food section over lunch time while rest of staff is chatting away at back of kitcheb🤔

My favorite Checkers store to do my grocery shopping. Store is always very clean. Only problem I often have is that sale items are often out of stock (on day 1 of the sale)
