Dont bother calling, waste of airtime waiting on hold as number 1 in the queue (presumably because others dropped off rather than being helped) the whole time. If they answer theyll either take your name and number and promise to call back later (and obviously they dont) or help you and promise to send a quote (and obviously they dont). Website has no other contact options. 2 stars for previously getting ok service in store...

Shocking service - they lost my order, after writing it down, then told me I had to wait 3 weeks and they would call me when parts arrived. No phone call, and when I went into the shop to check on progress, there was no record of my order. Ive since tried to start the process again, with no response to my emails.

Long queues. Theres no signs as to where you should go. Staff aint that friendly. They are great for finding parts but I would recommend shopping somewhere else.

Absolutely shocking service! I went in to get a oven door seal for a Defy Slimline 600- pretty standard. The sale guy behind the counter said I need the serial number for the product. I told him it should be on the system as it is a pretty common item. He told me I need to go look for the number myself. I know for a fact that oven seals DO NOT have a serial number on them. He did not even try bother to help... STEER WELL CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I required a light switch for my fridge and spoke to Sebastian who asked me to come in with switch and he would see what he could do. The process took approximately 10 minutes including phone ringing, people asking him things, working his computer and answering questions and said to me he thinks he found one. Bingo , he had the part. This is called going the extra mile. Well done and Sebastian is a silent asset to your company.

Its been over 2 months and still have not received my order that has been paid for in full.They promise you a 5-7 day turn around time .After my sixed followed up call to them I asked for a refund, cause theres just no communication from them at all- just a bunch of empty promises. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD SERVICE !!!

Its not easy to rate this place. They have good appliances at very good prices but depending on the sales person who assists you on the day, your experience could vary. Their guarantees on their items could be better and when you return an item, you as the customer must not be made to feel like youre not being truthful about the reason for the return. Not just spares and repairs. They have a pretty solid selection of new appliances. The store is a lot bigger than it looks and is well worth a visit. Their website doesnt do the store justice. Would really help if they had all items online as well. Also, if you need spares for an appliance then they are a good place to look.

Was promised 2-4 days delivery, then the riots happened, but that all stopped 5 weeks ago. NO communication from Claremont Home appliance, even when they promise to call you back. Im at my wits end. Sent 2 e-mails to request a refund, have not even had a response to that. This morning theyre not even answering their phones...

Had 2 gentlemen come through to look at my dishwasher. They were here earlier than expected, and sorted it out within 20 minutes. After theyd solved the problem, they explained it to me, and explained how to prevent it in the future. I just tested it now, and its in perfect shape again. Also very reasonably priced, which is always appreciated

Really disappointed with the service received. The sales person looked like she wanted to spit fire at me and all I was there to do was to collect a part, no stress, no hassle. She didnt even need to look up anything. Sad that this is the level of service one gets these days.

I have bought quite a few products from them a ceran stove top and even custom rubber fridge seals. Their staff is always helpful and dont give u that make u feel stupid smirk like at other stores if u dont exactly know what it is u looing for but patiently explain and inform u correctly. Im even having my fridge repaired through them

Shocking service, they charged my mother (a pensioner) over R1000 to come in and fix her laundry machine. They arrived late, spent ten MINUTES fixing it, left it still broken (after claiming to have fixed it) and since then they have refused to help her, or even consider refunding her for their apparent service.CHECK HELLO PETER TO READ ALL THEIR OTHER SHOCKING REVIEWS. It isnt worth and we cant afford to take them to court. But please dont use them. I wouldnt wish this experience on anyone else.

Regarding fixing of appliances, not always able to assist, but usually will give you an idea of where to go for help.Overall, this is a place I have found myself returning to over the years. While you may not get everything you want, the staff have a wonderful culture of customer service and present a patient and helpful front. Go there!

I cannot begin to explain the incompetance of the staff. A technician came to diagnose a problem. He Identified the required part. Before they would order I had to pay for this upfront. Told it would be here in five days. After six days I contacted the store to enquire if the part had arrived. Sadely it had not been ordered yet ! Eventually when the technician arrived with the new part is was incorrect and would not fit. He was not familiar with the equipment either. He took pictures and left. I contacted the store manager who said they would get the correct part. On going to get this part from the store it was again the same incorrect part. Between the manager Linda, Shanaaz who failed to order the part on recieving payment and Sabastian the parts guy there seems to all round incompetance.

All I am looking for is two simple little hinges for an AEG stove, but nobody comes back to me. Apparently you are the agents for AEG, but with this level of services perhaps they should think again.

A bit of a surprise store with some top end stock. The staff are always willing to give you help & advise, I genuinely buy all my appliances from here, and this has been my stop for appliance issues for decades too.

Their phone answering service gives three options. I wanted to buy a new major appliance, but press two for sales cuts out after two rings. Tried three times. Will buy elsewhere.

Great place to get spares but with COVID it seems there is no control going into the shop. Was there on Saturday and just was just chaos. Something needs to be done with crowd control

I called to request a quote on both my dishwasher and oven and was told that I would be charged one call out fee (R350) as this would only require one visit. CHAD instead sent two technicians and charged me R700 without informing me beforehand. I complained and was told it was up to them to decide how many technicians they send and that they had no obligation to inform me of this. Not professional at all!

Shocking service, would give 0 stars if I could.Ordered and paid for a part in November, go to collect almost 3 weeks later after being told 10 working days and it’s the wrong part even though serial numbers were given (how?). Was told the supplier is closing and they will reopen first week of Jan. Emails get no responses, call to follow up and get told “what would you like me to do about it?”.I’m in sales also and wouldn’t have a job if I spoke to a customer with the attitude I’ve received.Left several messages for the manager who always seems to be terribly busy. Too busy to help a client whose about to report them to the ombudsman.It’s clear that things are done very half heartedly and once they have your money they don’t really care and hope you get so frustrated you let it go...

I phoned them for a price on a Morphy Richard kettle and the lady told me to hang on. I could hear her talking and laughing in the background. Needless to say, after 5 minutes I hung up. Pathetic service.

This is my favourite place to get all appliances, large and small, at excellent prices. The fact that the same staff have worked there for decades is testament to the type of business this is. Well worth a visit and for those who are new to Cape Town, you have just discovered a bit of really useful inside info!

I definitely found what I wanted and the assistant really friendly and helpful in explaining the differences between the products I was interested in. We didnt look further as we were happy with what they offered.

Although Claremont Home Appliances seems a small corner store, its stock and prices are amazing and are usually better than the big stores like Game. Makro or Tafelberg. I have shopped there for years and they continue to beat the prices of the biggies. For example last month I bought a Bosch vacuum cleaner there for R1700 which Tafelberg had at R2400. In addition they have friendly knowledgeable staff, very different from the impersonal and generally disinterested staff in the big stores. And no, I am not related to the owners!

I do not recommend them if you are after quick turn around for parts or even to get your issues resolved as I am still waiting. Service for parts is absolutely appalling. Staff don’t call back after making numerous attempts to get feedback on parts ordered after waiting months.

Absolutely the WORST service company ever. I’m still waiting for answer on my convection microwave.... WILL BE 1 YEAR IN MARCH!!!!! I was forced to pay R160 upfront and now they make excuses everytime I phone or visit.

Regarding large appliance repairs and their service department: VERY slow with service delivery, and simply don’t ever follow up when they say they will. The customer facing staff member, seemingly in charge of that department, is destroying business, from a customer perspective - It’s a pity.It’s run with an old school mentality, with no good customer service efforts made. Be ready to continually call them to ask what’s happening.Try as best you can to try other avenues before taking your appliances here for repairs.I’m assuming they’ll get the job done correctly but haven’t seen real evidence of this just yet. I’ve been waiting weeks and I’m still getting excuses why the repair hasn’t even been started. Seeing others’ reviews suggest that I might be too enthusiastic about the potential quality of repairs. I hope that the quality of repairs are good. :-/They have a good selection of appliances for sale though. All be it a very messy and carelessly laid out showroom floor.UPDATE: I paid for my repair 27 June. Today its 19 September and theyve not lifted a finger to get the job done. Their only interest interest is to get you to pay and then hope you use interest and leave the transaction. Im on my way to get a full refund.If unsuccessful there, I will be forced to investigate legal action against this fraudulent business.

It is extreemly frustrating to get any service here! Nobody answers the phone at the spares department. My e-mails are left unanswered. The receptionist told me that everybody working there is very busy, because the country is full of people! I advise strongly agains supporting Claremont Home Appliance Doctor.

I placed an order on 17 July 2020 and am still waiting, only to be told I have to wait another 15 working days and suggesting that I should go to Defy myself as this would be quicker. If there were an alternative Appliance business in the southern suburbs, I wouldve used them instead. I felt like they wanted me out of their front door as quickly as possible. They didnt listen to me when I stated that I needed an element for a COMPACT stove, so had to return it after going home, and then they gave me the right element.

This is the most Pathetic Business. I placed and paid for an order a week ago and nobody knows anything about the order. I phoned them a few times and used up all my airtime they never phone back this is really very poor service. Claiming that Samsung have a problem and did not Deliver this week. Why not letting the customer know that they have to wait for their parts. The lady told me that I can not expect from them to phone me that the part is not going to be there within a week or that the part was not delivered. Yes I do expect that because that is good service but you do not offer good service.

Shocking response on the telephone. They eventually answer, tell you they are too busy, then tell you that you must call back later! When you insist they call you back, and leave your details, they never call you back. Has happened so many times again and again. They are not a customer centric organisation. They give the impression that they really dont care about you at all...
