When flying to the USA I have used Qatar several times now and must say I find the experience very good. From their on line APP booking service is easy to use and when you call their help line they are very helpful. While in Qatar I spent 5 hours in one of their lounges i have a Burgundy privilege card it is the lower class card there are 2 others, silver and gold so when you get to the airport these cards allow you into different lounges. In the lounge I stayed in there is a quite room with recliner chairs where you can lay back and read books but no noise. The food was nice but not a lot of choicesI was traveling during Covid 19 October 2020 so everything was a bit messed up with my bookings but they eventually sorted it out, they booked my connecting flight in Johannesburg to soon after arriving so I lost my connection and had to pay for another ticket to Durban so I recommend leaving lots of time for connecting flights due to COVID 19 and having to fill in extra forms every time to go into another departure area.

Qatar airways firstly as a person who was flying out of South Africa for the first time, I must say the flight was neat, spacious and comfortable. The cabin crew members were professional and friendly at the same time. What I loved the most about Qatar airways was the fact that there was a lot of entertainment installed on our flight namely, movies, music, documentaries and games. Even family friendly movies catering for those traveling with kids. The hospitality was great, and we were fed a lot. The fact that I could order anything from soft drinks to vodka was a bonus for me. Thumbs up Qatar airways 👌🏾👍🏾

Dont trust them to take care of your loved ones who need wheelchair assistance. I personally witnessed an osteoporosis sufferer being made to walk through Brisbane Airport (they didnt bring enough wheelchairs) and another lady (whose family I promised Id keep an eye on) left to get onto the passenger bus in Doha to fend got herself. I had to get the bus stopped to fetch her. By then I had to keep an eye on both of them. We were sped through the airport on electric carts, because the flight arrived late. Both ladies felt guilty about being helped and easily agreed to walk. Qatar Airways did not prioritise these two ladies, already traumatized by having to leave New Zealand when they didnt extend visitors visas. Im deeply concerned about the terrible service. I literally asked as many staff members I could to keep an eye on them or keep them seated when everyone got up, but no teamwork or collaboration despite 1/3 full flights.

This office is maybe the one that irks me the most all over the world. I understand people backed up with with work, but I do not grasp unfriendly staff when you buy tickets in their office. Basically who sells the tickets also works on the telephone and so on, but if that’s a company policy...its their decision and not mine. The staff should perform their job at their best but in Cape Town at the Qatar Office, it’s not what happens. It looks like they are bored when you, as a customer, go directly to them. The problem has been presented to their administration over and over but it just never gets better.

That was the worst experience I have ever had with this airway, no one can help or even try to help you if you have even a small query . the website was useless. the agent said, if you booked your ticket online we can not do anything, in other word F*** off.

Poor. Staff deny, avoid, misdirected then go to a meeting leaving you with a new staff member to start the show again. No initiative. Humanity trained right out of the staff.

Pathetic office. Why have an office in Cape Town and not ever be open? Trying to get refunded but all it is is a waiting game.

APPALLING!! Children booked a flexible return CT - Beijing with Qatar, paid a fortune for the ticket (double what most were going for) then when they needed to return they chose to do so before the high season in December and could not find a seat on any airlines with the so called flexible ticket to CT, they paid to change to JHB and they had to re-book a flight from JHB to CT.Qatar flight from Beijing to Doha was delayed, causing them to miss the Doha to CT, then board another plane to CT that ended up being rerouted via Kenya!!! and even with a near 8 hour stop over they therefore missed the JHB to CT flight that cost an extra R4,400 each and had to re-buy on the last available flight at R 3,300 each JHB - CT and Qatars reply - sorry nothing we can do.If no reimbursement on the missed flight JHB - CT that was entirely the airlines fault with an extra ridiculous amount of hours going via kenya, at least they could have offered a cheaper seat for them to re-book BUT EVEN THAT THEY WERE NOT PREPARED TO DO. WHAT AWFUL SERVICE. 30k later per person return to China !!!!!!Can someone tell me what does Premium Care Officer actually mean??Nelly PaunilSenior VIP & Premium Care Officer
