Appalled by the unprofessional staff at casualty. They are rude and act like they are doing you a favor. Netcare should train the staff at this department better. The fact they have signs like this up at the entrance should tell you that perhaps the problem lies with Netcare and not your patients. Pathetic performance.

I was admitted on Saturday with quite a bad laceration to my finger.Firstly I had to wait almost two hours for a doctor to attend to it whereafter I was admitted to the orthopedic ward as they had to operate on my finger. The treatment in the ward was absolutely unacceptable and the attitude of the nursing staff was something to be ashamed of.The orthopedic surgeon saw me for less than a minute before the operation and I never saw him thereafter. I asked the person in charge for instructions for aftercare and she was not really interested to assist me.Overall a bad experience and for these reasons I shall never go back to this hospital.

One of our company employees had an injury on duty and was rushed to the Linmed hospital. She was luckily discharged that night. When I called the hospital to get the first medical report (we were issued no reports the night of the accident), not one staff member was able to assist I got transferred from one department to another half just put the phone down and the rest have no telephone etiquette. Extremely rude staff, unhelpful and a massive disappointment. If the hospital cant do administration how are they suppose to provide proper medical care? It has been weeks since the accident and I am unable to get a 1st medical report which is necessary to submit an RMA claim. I am very disappointed and very frightened about how that hospital operates.

The price being paid on Medical Aid to get the best care once in hospital is a complete rip off.The Doctors do their job because I suppose in some cases it is either life or death. The nurses on the other hand think that they run the place. Let me be clear not all nurses. Mostly the night nurses are very caring and in the icu units.I cant say the same for the day nurses. I am a mother who is in the maternity ward for the second time. I gave birth on the 15th May 2021. I had a booked c-section due for the 18 May. My water broke on the 15th May at 9:30. Me and my husband rushed through to Linmed Netcare Centre in Benoni. Me in shock I hardly noticed much. Once the doctor made a noise in the room I was waiting in made me realise how lasy and unorganised the day nurses actually are. I had been waiting for over an hour and a half with bad contractions and hardly anything being done to help me. The nurses did not bother to open a file or even let a lone tell the doctor that I had been there with my water broken waiting for an emergency c-section.After all that trying to get rest during the day is asking too much. The nurses could not care if you are sleeping or not. They will talk at the top their lungs and come into your room and bang the dustbins and change beds and make the most noise possible. This is my second time in hospital at linmed Netcare Hospital and it has been the worst experiences of my life. I will not recommend this hospital to any of my friends and family.

My mom fell and broken her arm in Xmas day last year. I took her to the Linmed as it is closest to us. She is 88. Admitting ER doctor , Dr Gentz was very good and helpful and gives enough information so that one knows what is going on.My mom had to be admitted for an op on the arm two days later and being so frail it was difficult to get her in and out of the car at the drop off zone.No porter around to help, I don’t care that it was the festive season there should be someone to help. Lifting a person, deadweight is not easy even if the person is small and thin. A member of the public offered to assist.Subsequent visit a for check ups have all shown that their porter/s(when there are any), are not interested in assisting people at the drop off zone.I haven’t seen any vending machines with water or snacks to buy, when the coffee shop is closed.I think the assistance one gets is dependent on who is on duty in ER at the time.Ward Staff were good with my mom but given the time of year they were short staffed so one has to live with that.Wouldn’t easily go back to this hospital

We live close by and as a result this hospital is quicker to reach in emergency situations. We have been to the casualty a number of times and have found that the quality of service generally depends on the staff on duty. With kids the are usually very good however when dealing with adults they do not always show the same level of care. One doctor flat out refused to help my mother and told us to go to a different hospital. The physicians who practice at the hospital are very good and if it wasnt for them we would go somewhere else instead. Both the staff and rooms in the general medical ward leave much to be desired. The one rooms toilet was leaking for the full duration of one visit (about a week). There are definitely better options a little further away.

Words cannot describe how angry I am by the services and doctors at Linmed. My relative was admitted to the hospital and they she was still fine , they then took her to the wellness ward and all of a sudden she was in a terrible condition. They kept putting her under sleeping injection to help her sleep but no one and nothing was helping her . We arrived to a room that stank and no clean sheets and medication that wasnt properly given to her. The nurses are very rude and the doctor doesnt seem to know what he is doing , instead of making the situation better he just tells the nurses to give the patient the sleeping injection whenever she seems aggressive. There has been no improvement whatsoever if anything , she has gotten way worse. For a private hospital, for which we actually pay money for, and a lot if I may add , it is horrendous and something needs to be done! I am extremely disappointed and i advice anyone who needs to go to the hospital for such situations to not even think of Linmed. Also , the wellness ward is for people who are depressed or who have anxiety and other mental issues , but that place is dark and depressing and I feel like it is not an environment to get better.

My father is old and confused, he is 90. To try and find out what is wrong with him after a fall and being admitted through casualty is impossible. The doctor will only talk to one family member, why? It is better in the whole family hears the news as people absorb different details according to perception of importance. Afraid? The doctors are just UNAVAILABLE. 2 days later - no information has been given. You must ensure you wait for the doctors to do their rounds, so you need to take time off work to fit in with them as they dont return your calls. Inconsiderate? Arrogant? The sisters will not tell you anything, they use to 20 years ago. Why? too incompetent to give medical details? Staff not qualified? The man who came to wheel my dad to a doctor DID NOT HELP him into the the wheelchair, I had too. Why? not in his job description? Beneath him? Lazy? There is only one person at reception, during visiting hours to help all the family member. What poor planning and administration. Busiest time, fewest staff!!Netacare deserves the negative opinions. Obviously the motto is make as much money without the least care given.

HOWEVER, Linmed hospital ward staff (maternity)cld be better as previously i wouldve rated them 5 stars but my exp from past week only gives them a 3 star rating. PLEASE do not try to transfer major surgery patients in the middle of night to other wards cause of poor planning by hospital management. It very frustrating to patients and just creates anxiety and unhappiness. Furthermore, the day ward you wanted to shift me off to in the middle of night, is not setup to adequately deal with recovering major surgery patients and is frankly a step down from the rest of the wards at Linmed. This ward is frankly a mess and looks more like a public hospital setup than the private hospital that i have come used to at Linmed. If the maternity ward fills up, then rather move some patients to the surgical ward as you cannot expect women recovering from hysterectomies to recover in a sub-standard day ward cause then they will most surely also put up a fight as i did.Linmed theatre staff are also always great. THANK you Dr Terblanche and rest of theatre staff for looking after me so well during my hysterectomy. To you i give a 5 star rating!

The best service ever for my son, Casualty ward was extremely helful. Dr C Anasnogtospoulis is one of the best doctors I ever dealt with. The Paediatric ward was simply the best. They were extremely helpful, caring and accommodating.

Staff did not attend to my grandmother, she sat in the waiting room for two hours and then in triage for another hour before we walked out. We went to Glynwood, we were seen within 10mins where they diagnosed her with heart failure.Staff at linmed were slow and in no rush to attend to a patient in clear chest pain and with shortness of breath

Terrible service from the staff at the ward, they are rude do not attend too patients and have a attitude constantly that is negative ,it is definitely not a calm and healing enviroment ...a elderly gentleman was left on the toilet for almost 30min unattended he was unable too lift himself and was contantly ringing for help, the nurse who left him there has yet too return too assist him she just left him and moved on...the room was stinking hot because no one thought too turn the aircon on for the patients so by the last visiting hours i asked them too assist they told me the aircon is on as if i was incapable of noticing the room tempreture...after coming with me eventually they discovered it was infact not running .after about 10min of searching they found the control panel which i thought they would know immediately where too find it seeing as they claimed too have switched it on that morning..they then fidnt so much as say sorry or ask how else they can assist they walked out in a huff as if it was our fault they arent doong their jobs...my question is if a room is excessively hot a patient is hot uncomfortable and irritable ,now you want too monitor their vitals in a tense enviroment and base a diagnosis on those results...its truelly unacceptable for a first class institution too give bellow average service....i hope they up their game becauae in future i will go too glynnwood where they treat their clients like patients in need of assistance...

After waiting in casualty for 3 hours in pain without assistance an incompetent doctor and arrogant sister told us the arm is severly broken and she had to stay the night to wait for a surgeon. We told them the risk was too high because of the experience and was yelled at by an incompetent sister. This is the ideal hospital to visit if you wish to die.

Im seriously disgusted with the Netcare Linmed Hospital. My daughter is in the hospital as we speak, in her 3 Rd week. The rooms are dirty, they cockroach families living in the patient rooms. There is no sanitiser in the bathrooms neither air freshener in the toilets. Even when reported to the UM nothing gets done about it. The most disappointing thing to me is that Ive been working for Netcare for almost 27 years. Kindly contact me about this post.

The staff are excellent and very helpful in the actual hospital. The emergency ward suffers from a very uncaring receptionist though.

Wife was booked in for a laparoscopy which should be a outpatient procedure. Yet the specialist doesnt give a damn about her. Refuses to do his rounds. She has been stuck there for her second day already. Bloody livid 😠😠😠

Friday 13 January 2012, not my best day, not their fault though. They helped me cope.
