DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!I got robbed in this store and received pathetic assistance from staff. I reported the theft to your customer services and asked to see the manager. Instead i got dumped on some security assistant who made me wait for half an hour to check the camaras. When he returned, he claimed We cannot see anything. When i requested to phone my husband and the police (since my phone was stolen), it was refused because We dont have airtime

Prepare to get a lot of items on promotion. Youll end up going over budget. Its big and beautifully laid out, its not clustered. You will have most items checked off from your shopping list and so much more

Worst service, no communication, customers are expected to pack their own bags, if this isnt done, the next customers items are just pushed together with yours, such an unpleasant experience. Teach your staff some basic manners. Im not one of those people who walk in with a attitude, but being treated like this, shows me as a customer that I am not respected. Why would I want to go back then?

Large variety of products,helpful staff and reasonably priced.

The new 6060 app is causing havoc in this store. The staff members are running throughout the store, bumping into you with their trolleys and pushing to get to the shelf before you. It is definitely not acceptable and management need to devise a better strategy to ensure a less frustrating and safer shopping experience in this store!

I enjoy do some shopping there and after my shopping I go for a cup of coffee. I love there coffee and its cheap. Well done Checkers 👏

A very neat supermarket for convenient shopping in a beautiful stylish shopping centre which has a load ful of history. Everything you need under one roof. The fruit is very fresh. There is always help available when assistance is needed. Service is very friendly. The cashiers can be slow at times. Good parking

Really nice store with a wide variety of products and doesnt suck as much as the other Checkers stores in Alberton. Just closes very early which is a big disadvantage.

Tellers are always so slow you could die

No regard for covid regulations. The store manager (Glen) was approached and he claimed the security touching everyone items in the check process was not his responsibilty. The fact that the security could be spreading the virus from one person to another was not his problem. He needs to to be accountable for negligence. Certainly sad and concerning that the store has this attitude.

Useless store. Rush there after work to get cooked ham (urgently) only to be told they dont have. How does a larger supermarket like this not have any cooked ham?

Amazing in terms of product variety, naturally since its a Hyper. They had quite a lot of specials but the shelves were not restocked for the 2 hours my family and I were in the store for. Even more annoying was there was no staff on the floor to assist.

Management.... just so you know, the people in the queue are your customers. They are the people that work hard all week to come to YOUR store and spend their very hard earned money. Hows about you lift your rear and get your staff at their appointed posts to serve the people paying their salaries. Open your flippin tills when people are queuing around the store. 24 cashiers on duty... 37 tills and an earth shattering 7 tills open, so 17 are on lunch at 10h30 in the morning... an hour and a half after the store opened.... Absolutely pathetic. Clearly you have no clue what it is to keep your customers happy. Not to worry, I wont be back, Ill take my hard earned money elsewhere, perhaps a store that has a clue about customer service.

Staff dont seem to care much about clients, ask for something and the answer is we do not have stock, but go look for it yourself and you will find it!Or you wont even find a space on the shelf for some items (Eg. Gas lamp mantles) found them at THE REEF store and have been checking the NEW MARKET sore they have not had stock for over 2 months.The only staff member that is helpful and friendly is the lady at the cigarette counter.

I went to checkers in Newmarket mall for the first time on the 7th of March 2020 with my daughter as I was going to pay at the till I noticed my wallet was gone ,looked everywhere and I couldnt find it I then went to security and they checked the cameras only to find I had been followed by 2 guys and 1 girl since we walked into the shop,and they snatched it from my bag which was in the trolley by the seafood counter..I was so shaken and couldnt understand how that could happen when there is two people in the control room watching the cameras the whole time. Unfortunately nothing could be done about it as this happened at 15:33 and I only realised an hour later as I was paying and the thieves had already fled ...I had a traumatic experience 😔

I have one question : why 37 tills and only 9 cashiers?? On the introduction day of the rewards card, when customers are clueless and think they get the special offers anyway?? No problem, lets issue the card AT the till. Dont mind the 4 people behind you in the line. I waited 30 minutes at the till in a HYper shop with 37 tills... Go figure. Customer service not so much a priority here.

Love the Hyper as you find everything you need and want in one roof, good price, good quality and most of all cleanliness.

Staff are very friendly and helpful service is excellent Id visit more often because you dont get service like this at another store every store has it own experience but this store checkers Id visit them anytime.... Keep up the good work 👍👍👍

Service at this Checkers is absolutely PATHETIC!!!

The manager Thug Glen Van Niekerk was unable to resolve a pricing issue of an consumable product. He then became aggressive the due to his inability to resolve the issue and forcefully physically grabbed customer attempting to grab cellphone from customer. He then threatened customer with verbal threat in public store by managers booth when customer requested to see cctv footage.If this behavior is permitted or condoned by Checkers Hyper it is poor reflection of customer service.Legal recourse and consequences is being persued to Glen Van Niekerk.

I brought the All time favorite platter online on Friday 29November collection date 29 November when I arrived at the store my platter was not ready because Gert didn’t give them the required information they than decided to one for me which was a total rip off I wish they didn’t cause it was totally different from what I had ordered 😤😤😤😤I AM NOT HAPPY with their service why make an online service that you do not take into consideration?

This is a huge Checkers with clothes, toys, great selection of applicances and food portions to grab and run. Got the feeling they were entering same type of ready to eat food selections that woolies is famous for. So awesome

Theve seen the Dam last of me. Spend a good hour or so shopping here.All the while there was a serious burglary taking place at my house.Everyone who tried to get hold of me failed! Come every week they never have stock of any good specials. I complained to the manager and he uses the same excuse every week for why there’s no stock, and he does not look concerned one bit. Honestly frustration as this checkers is the closest to me.

Staff is always help full... If you go close to closing time, you can get some of their Hot Foods at half price (perfect for the bachelor running late)

Its been my second visit to the shop to buy fresh snoek from their fish market the fish its been in the display fridge for a long time it been a bad experience for me and my family for the second time as the fish was old and it was like you eating mash potatoes but it was a fish i beleave they can do better

37 tils and 6 open on payday weekend. Customer service put the phone down twice when we tried phoning them to ask for more tellers to open. Told us that 20 tellers were on lunch at 10:30 in the morning.
