We absolutely loved our visit at Upland. It’s a beautiful farm, off the beaten track with with wonderful landscapes surrounding it. Edmund, the winemaker and owner, told us about his passion for natural wine and brandy making. The story about how we became a winemaker was lovely. We made a little walk with him around the farm while he told us a lot about organic farming. We tasted his excellent wines and spirits. Divine! As a bonus we also had a look inside the workshop of his wife where beautiful cards are made. Highly recommend a visit!

Fantastic wine and spirits from a passionate man devoted to the craft with no sulphites added. We enjoyed all the offerings including a lovely Pinot Noir, Cab Sauv, Witblitz, Grappa and 10yr Brandy. Theres a lot of charm and no frills here. Come enjoy, but please book an appointment as the owners are not always available.

Edmund was gracious to allow us a same day appointment, 2 hours after calling. His winery/distillery defines passion and he provides an excellent tasting, starting with his Cabernet Sauvignon and moving through his spirits. A must visit if in Wellington.

This is a small (one man) operation that produces a world class product. This is an experience you have to work for. It is off the beaten track and not in reach of large tour busses.Tasting and sales by appointment only. This is a throwback to how Cellars in the Boland used to function when I was young. There is no fancy tasting room with a pretty young lady behind the counter. No mass tours of extended facilities and no restaurant. But the lack of commercial glitz makes this a very unique experience. Tasting, view of the facilities and sales are all done by the owner /distiller. It does not get better than that.Well worth the effort to visit. Fantastic products and memories you will never forget. What are you waiting for? This is the one you will be telling everyone about years later.

Wonderful place for all wine enthusiasts who appreciate natural approach to the farming and wine production. Edmund of Upland Organic Wines is a very knowledgeable wine maker and also a kind person. We tasted his sulphides free Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 and some old brandy and grappa, everything was excellent! Also the place itself looks like from a French countryside.

Edmunds wine farm (Upland) is an absolute gem! The beautiful landscape, vegetation, and rustic buildings give you a sense of being far off the beaten track, while its actually easily reached through Wellington -- a short drive from Paarl or Stellenbosch.Edmund himself was both accommodating and patient in organising an ad hoc visit for me, and he took the time to not only walk us through the wines and spirits, but do some exploration amongst the barrels while he explained his winemaking philosophy. If all of that werent enough, the wines, brandies, gins, etc. are simply outstanding and well worth the trip.

We had an amazing experience visiting Upland! From the beginning, it was clear that Edmund, the owner, is passionate about natural wine (as well as natural Brandy and Grappa) making! We had the opportunity to understand his approach of zero intervention production and taste a whole range of Upland’s amazig wines, ports, grappas, and brandy – which was a perfect with a dark chocolate! We loved to visit his production site and to taste wine’s directly from his cellar!

It is a farm and it is very quiet here. I stay on the farm myself. I really enjoy it here. I am not the owner. Here on the farm are vineyard orchards and olive orchards.
