Beautiful views. We visited on a Friday during their quieter times, which was great for us as we could fully enjoy the restaurant as first time visitors. We were told they get extremely busy over weekends and bookings are essential. There is plenty of seating available inside and outside. This place has the biggest play area I have seen at a restaurant (indoor and outdoor), therefore it is perfect for families. There is also a section with goats and pigs which kids will love. Our little one truly enjoyed herself and keeps asking to go back. Our waiter was friendly and very accommodating. We ordered burgers and wraps. The burgers were a bit dry and the onion rings a bit too oily, however the wraps were delicious. Our coffee came very hot just as we like it. This restaurant is definitely worth the visit.
An awesome family oriented restaurant with an indoor and outdoor kids play area which makes it perfect for all seasons. The restaurant also has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options but seeing that it wasn’t raining, we chose to sit outside under the guava trees! Their food portions are very generous and well-priced, not to mention delicious! Be warned though, the section of gravel road which leads to the entrance is quite bumpy at the moment due to the heavy rains.
In March 2021 I visited the Stone Kitchen at Dunstone for a kids birthday party and as I hadnt been at Dunstone for quite a while I did not know what to expect. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The estate is beautiful, they have a large restaurant with inside and outside seating areas. The outside seating is scattered around under the trees, and there is also a big playground for the kids, as well as a indoors play area, making this a perfect place for families to go on sunny or rainy days. So I could see why our friends chose Dunstone for their sons birthday - its a great option for kids, and as all the parents joined were also there, our friends ordered some cheese and meat platters. The staff however did seem to be a bit overwhelmed - we were a large group, though not that big to cause confusion, but we still enjoyed ourselves. I also ended up doing a wine tasting - I am not sure if it is normal practice there, but I was just handed my wines with no explanation from the waiter (notes on the wines were provided) which I did not like. If you are looking for a place to do a wine tasting, eat something and have your children entertained, this is a good option.
Great playground for kids. Nice food. Stop at there deli dor freshly baked bread.
I totally loved visiting this place.. My son had an awesome time in the play area. The staff are so professional and friendly.. Just loved the tranquil environment.. Will definitely be visiting again.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious foods. Its like dining in the outdoors (classy) between the guava trees. The owner, s flexibility for clients needs with events(we also had a wedding there) is so much appreciated.. The friendliness of staff makes every visit very pleasant.
Amazing venue, and family friendly, but thats where the magic ends. The food is below average and the service is poor. Expect to have to ask for your check and to have to go looking for a waiter to get service, or to get the card machine to pay when you have already asked for it a few times before. In our case, we all got up and walked to the waiting station to pay, around 40 min after finishing our meals. People in our group were also brought different menu items from what they ordered. All a real pit when you consider the potential of the place.
A beautiful setting!Eating lunch in between the guava trees on a perfect winters day was exactly what we needed! The food was delicious 🍽️🍷
Dunstone kitchen hosted me and my family for my daughters 9 birthday on the 6 August. On request we received the special menu before hand and the service was excellent. The place is very cosy need and have friendly staff. A shout out to the chef as the food was magnificent, more then enough and tasty.
It was our first visit we were informed that we would wait a while as they were under staffed. Tiffany our waitress was very helpful and checked up on our table although we could see that it was really busy. Thank you for your service and smile throughout we enjoyed our lunch and the little ones had no problem waiting as their was so much to do on the farm.Next time we will make sure to book a table.
When it comes to passing the time in Wellington @Dunstone_Estate Stone Kitchen is one of the must-do places. Whenever were in the area my daughter demands a visit and I cant blame her.The ataff are friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to the wines and food. The playground is perfectly located which allows parents to enjoy the surroundings and have full view of their kids. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are very generous. They also have a Duck pond, piglets and goats on the premises.Dunstone ticks all the boxes and I cannot wait to return
If ever you want great food with a family atmosphere, this is the best place. The food was absolutely devine and the service 10/10... We got to the restaurant late, the kitchen was about to close but they agreed to serve us.... Our meal was amazing and the night view, a must to experience. Will definitely be back...
Lekker lunch at Dunstone to cap off our weekend in Wellington. Lamb burger is a winner. Restaurant has changed quite a bit since we were last here 5 yrs ago. Far more kid friendly. Come check it out...
What a beautiful setting, this wine farm was recommended by friends who said it has a childrens play area. The children enjoyed it and the staff was very friendly. The wine tasting was nice and not to expensive. I can really recommend this place if you have children and want to enjoy some grown-up time.
Beautiful outdoors for sunny days and warm and snugg indoors for cold and rainy days. Food and service amazing
Absolutely gorgeous. The food, the ambience, the service, everything scores a solid 10 out of 10. Recommendations include their ice coffee, the ribs, the chocolate volcano and if you real lucky a chef special. Guaranteed to return and sample more dishes
We had a great wine tasting experience. Our waitress was amazing and friendly. We enjoyed the outside area along with a indoor and outdoor play area for the children. There are some animals which is also great for the children. Food platters were amazing and wine was just as good. No beer on tap for those who enjoy beer but a good selection of local and craft beers on the menu. You have to give the milkshakes a go. They are amazing.
Found it by chance because my favourite restaurant was closed. Will definitely be back and bringing future clients. Breakfast was great and service friendly and good.
Fantastic restaurant. Kids are happy to play in the amazing kids area. Food is amazing and wine is exceptional.Very worth a stop in Wellington.
The food was very delicious wish the road till there was better
Beautiful views. Great service. Delicious food. 🤗
Lovely place, beautiful surroundings, great food
Lovely place and nice food, but slow service.
Great restaurant with a good atmosphere and tons of different kids areas, loved the pigs and goats, the outdoor mud kitchen and the climbing wall inside. We had a great coffee and very nice margherita pizza for the kids.
Nice place food was really good. Its worth a visit thats for sure
Friendly service. Beautiful and tranquil setting. Great indoor and outside playground for kids. Good food
The place looks really nice, and is beautifully decorated. But when we were there, we were the only people sitting in the garden and service was really slow. At times it was like we were forgotten. Our breakfast portion was also quite small. Just one piece of (storebought prefab) toast to go with the food. But what was on the plate tasted good.
The people was very pleasant and the food was perfect. I will definitely go back again.
Great place in the mountains. Food is excellent with a view and a peaceful setting overlooking the mountains. Great stop on your way to Africamps.
Great value for money, good food, friendly staff
Now this was a surprise...been for the first time and have to go back soon. Plenty to do for the kids and lovely food.
Excellent service, delicious food, the most pleasant atmosphere (inside or on the terrace) a safe play area for kids & very friendly & helpful staff..My family & I are definitely going back.
Really fantastic venue for kids. Easy menu with good food served
Very nice food....beautiful surroundings
Absolutely brilliant! Carmens lamb curry was the best I, as a curry lover, have ever tasted!! Great service by Linda! Would love to visit again!
Delicious food!
Beautiful venue, good service, long drive though. BEST BEST BEST olives in the world!!!
Great kids play area. Restaurant is set in a beautiful area between the mountains. Pity there is no view from inside. Meal selection was awesome, bit pricey if you are feeding four
We lived it. Great peaceful atmosphere and lots of activities for kids.
Beautiful, great food and friendly staff! You will see me again!

Awesome place friendly staff great food awesome service
A surreal experience with good food!
Very nice place, nice relaxing vibe
Great affordable menu, tasty food, good service, lovely wine, play area for the kids, beautiful drive and setting
Best wine farm to take kids. Amazing indoor and outdoor play areas. Picnic in the guava orchards in summer. Full kids menu plus great wine and food for adults. Stunning setting too. Oh and even the service is spot on!
Calm environment. Great for Kids. Awesome waitresses.
Wow! Great food, well priced. Red wine is good. Play area for kids inside and out. Best chicken burger I had in years. Will be back and telling friends 👍😁
Loved the atmosphere and very friendly waiters. We had platters and i loved it. As i dont eat pastries i cant comment on all the other food on the platter. Some people in my group mentioned that the pastries were a bit bland. The kids pizzas were very dry and tough to slice. All and all still a thumbs up!
Excellent service and lovely vibes.
Lovely ambience. Place for children to play. Beautiful views of the surrounds. Menu is versatile and the staff is very friendly. I definitely recommend
The food was absolutely divine. What a lovely little Gem!! Theres ample play areas and toys to keep the kiddos happy. Loved it.
A Natural and comfortable setting for families to chill as long as you want. An indoor play area with Lego, books and wall-climbing and large outdoor play areas for kids. Theres a bench by the duckpond for contemplation and shaded seating and blankets under the guava trees.
Great food and excellent service
Mouth watering food and impeccable service!Would highly recommend the stone kitchen.
Lovely, outdoor place hidden in the nature and wine lands of Wellington. Great service and excellent food very well presented and prepared. Lots of seating both inside and outside with a large play area outside for kids. Open for breakfast to lunch with the kitchen generally closing around 6pm.
Beautiful setting.Good food.Friendly service.
Excellent service and great food
Great food and awesome wine. There is a lot of different play areas for the kids which they really enjoyed!
Great setting, good service. Food had a lot of gluten free options which is great. My wrap was quite chewy but filling was delicious
The service was good but the lamb burger was terrible and the drinks are slightly overpriced. The staff are courteous unprofessional but a lot is desired when it comes to the hamburgers that are there in generalPlease take this comment as constructive and try and improve for the next visitor who goes there.
Great place for family, friends and kids will enjoy the kids area. Great and wonderful food and atmosphere is great.
Friendly service, tasty food, we enjoyed the Dunstone lamb burger, chicken burger and fillet steak menu items. Recommend to combine your meal with a wine tasting. Reasonable prices.
We had breakfast which was well worth it
Nice and relaxed atmosphere under the trees with plenty for young children to do. Nice menu options that are well priced, with some interesting options (Wild Boar burger, etc) as well. There is also a decent craft beer selection of about 10 beers and the staff are very friendly. Definitely a nice option for a good meal and some relaxation under the trees.
Lovely indoor and outdoor set-up. Great for family lunches/suppers as playing facilities are on point and in good condition.
Out of the way awesome. Visited on a day hot enough to require ice in my hat to keep me cool, and it was worth every bead of sweat. Great food, rustic setting
Food was very tasty and an inside and outside play area for kids. Will definately go again.
Great setting with lots for the kids to do. We felt like we were on a date. Service was excellent and the food good too.
Great wine, food & most important the outstanding service from the staff. One of the best kids play area in the Winelands. A magic venue & experience. Well done & keep it up.
Very relaxed, family place to enjoy a good meal.
Great food. Service very good
The food and wine were great and kids had a lovely play area to play in
Loved it great afternoon out... Had the steak was lovely, service was great and so was the vibe
The quality and service comes as a surprise to this beautiful hidden gem in the valley. Very welcoming and homy feel
Such a great place, especially if you have kids. Great indoor and outdoor playplace. Great food and wine too!
Dont come here if you are in a hurry to eat and leave. Very relaxing atmosphere, and lots of activities for the kids inside and out. Staff and food was slow for a relatively quiet public holiday with the power off because of load shedding. As long as you go inside to ask the staff for things youll get it at some point. But we didnt mind, spend 5.5 hours here and the kids (3 to 8 years old) kept themselves fully entertained
Nice people , beautifull view. Good food
Best restaurant in town! The staff is very helpful and friendly, the food is tasty and their playground is any kid’s dream!
Always a treat! Beautiful setting, great food, friendly staff and awesome play area for kids!
The Stone Kitchen is always wonderful. Pretty venue, great and tasty food, with friendly service. We started off under the shade of the guava trees, but Wellington gets really hot and eventually moved to some tables with fully shaded umbrellas, which was great. The children played putt-putt, played on the swings and mostly enjoyed the outdoor space but ventured to the indoor play area too for a while. Every meal looked scrumptious, as were the desserts apparently, they certainly looked so, I just unfortunately ended off with an iced coffee that wasnt iced but room temperature and not quite what I was imagining it would be. It was our only disappointment on what was a wonderful outing with friends and family. Walking out, we discovered that it would have been even more wonderful had we sat indoors in the comfort of the aircons. Weve been there a few times and will for sure be back again.
