Am enjoying studying Mechanical Engineering at this University

I am working there and it is a great place with good people

I was terribly humiliated and treated like trash by the security guards at ICBT.

It has been a great journey indeed

Yall never answer phone calls even emails..how unprofessional

Nice Institution, I Graduated twice from VUT. The annoying part is they dont answer their phones and some even ignores the emails only few are reachable

I really had a very poor organizational experience during the registration period.you pay the school fees and submit all documentation and no one unblock you, you try to call the respective departments and no one answers the phone and they literally hang the phone up on your face.Poor communication from the University to the studentsThe management is not organized, everyone can just do as they pleaseAt some point I feel like I have been scammed out of my own money (R37000 paid up to now).Stuff members in the finance and Admission Office (International office) are unprofessional.

What a disgusting experience I had fro. VUT by the Security guard, and poor management of this online registrations, my daughter applied last year in July, since today, she has not be able to know that is she considered or not, A graduate candidate with a degree on Science,, but I really dont understand why, please can Department take the accountability in this regards, we as parentsare not happy at all of being treated like this.

Its a great place to study at I would recommend it to any matric students especially if U want to study engineering

This is one of the worst universities in South Africa. I dont recommend this university at all, & my reasons are:1. Poor management of the school - this boils down to poor management of school funds [this is euphemism, bro everyone on top eats the cash,] infrastructure / the environment2. Poor communication  - this university is notorious for having poor communication with new applying students as well as senior students3. The universities system is out dated, like very outdated from the website, student portal, how social media accounts are handled etc. youd find it ironic that its even called a university of technology4. CorruptionThere is nothing interesting, your university experience will be ruined by these latter reasons and how everything is handled. Its just a toxic environment for learning & youd think otherwise.If youre thinking of applying for an IT course, well I recommend you look at NWU or other major universities if your APS score sucks, try by all means to get into UP. Your chances of learning multiple languages & being exposed to more tech stuff is higher & lets not mention you have a better chance of getting a job since here you get a Diploma & not a Degree.Other faculties are good, I dont know Im just assuming because I did ITI hope this review finds you well & you second guess your decision of coming here but if you have no other option then come & suffer while you get your diploma.

Poor service their phones are on voicemail and they dont even reply when you send them email. Worse Varsity ever.

The security is very friendly and helpful.

Had a bad experience and attitude of our security staff today. Will forward a formal complain with authorities, as discussed with Commandor Molelekwa, who is aware of the complain.

VUT is one of the best Universities in South Africa, I highly recommend their IT and computer Science faculty and many more courses offered, campus life is awesome good positive vibes all around campus.

Very humble institution of learning based in the Vaal. They have the most dedicated support staff, faculty and researchers working for the institution. Campus caters for students from different backgrounds and always in need of additional funding.

The once prestigious institution of higher education is going from bad to worse. The fact that its currently under administration is testament to the poor management. Over the past years the instution has limped from the one crisis to another with staff being suspended on a regular basis.

The largest residential university in South Africa...with a lot of african students across the continent of Africa.Plus a lot of baddies in the area.

One of the best university of technology in SA, easy to locate. A bit away from the busy life of JHB and PTA which allows students to really focus on their studies. It has a unique culture.

Registration process is one of the worst things about VUT. No one answers their phones or even replies to emails, poor management, dirty bathrooms etc etc. Always ashamed if people asked where I studied.

The management is incompetent and lazy ever since the lockdown has started I have requested them to kindly activate my student email nobody responds to my emails when i call nobody answers now I can’t get access to my student permit so that I can get screened I cannot enter the school because I have not been screened and do not have a permit nobody is willing to help I’ve been coming to campus to get assisted but they refuse to let me enter or have somebody come and assist meThis is very disheartening that they do not take students requests seriously I’m disheartened by their non response to what students request

In VUT there is some region where there is no noise so in those regions you get that peace of mind if you are a person who works in a quiet place

Ive watched some rugby games on their sport-grounds and I have done my NBT here. The campus is huge and close to student accommodations - but its on a very busy intersection. Staff here are very friendly and helpful.

VUT is really cool comparing it with other universities that are outside the major cities. The learning environment is also top notch regardless of the strikes that affect every other university.

Drove by the place today and was shocked, It looks like a dump. Litter and rubbish all over the place. I presume the rocks and bits of concrete scattered about are the leftovers of a student process. Its supposed to be a place of higher learning at least clean it up and look the part please.

I was a student there and what I can say is that every place has its own bad/good things but if you know what you want despite of all the noise, poor furniture and struggling to register and more you will get what you want... keep up the good work Vaal tech

VUT was oky because the kind of knowledge that a students get is very good

This is a University you can come in and further your studies theres a lot faculty youll be able to choose on also heard rumors that is the best Tecch is South Africa.

Good institutions, well cared for biuldings but some personnel especially security do not communicate well in english which is a disadvantage for internationals

Some call it a university, I call it a noise club. Frequent parties resulting in public drinking and loud noise in the surrounding neighborhood. Students walking in the middle of the street and management that does not care about anything but their own salaries. Drunk driving around this area is quite frequent and common as are accidents resulting from it. Student accommodation popping up everywhere causing even more problems. Luckily very few make it past their first year and then they take off again, only for another lot of noise makers to move in.

I studied at Vaal..I have a friend who is about to finish his b tech only two subjects left, he is repeating this subjects so he was told he need to make an appeal and submit it to admin ..when enquirering about the progress of his appeal he is sent back and forth from engineering to admin. Nobody seems to know what or where is the appeal form..please help!! This intstitution is failing students who want to complete and go on with life
