Had a wonderful experience, loved the atmosphere and the Ubuntu spirit.

The place is very peaceful and surrounded my mountains and trees. The chalets are too small for my liking. The corner of the bed was too close to the wall unit making it difficult to pass through to the other side of the bed. The lounge had an uncomfortable garden chair instead of a proper couch, making it difficult to relax and watch TV for longer periods. There was no table to put your drink or snacks while watching TV. And the tv stand had so many cables and plugs which were just making a mess.

The place is nice with a number of activities for both adults and kids. Enjoyed our time there but the room that we were first checked into was not up to standard, they eventually managed to change us to a better chalet.

Had a wonderful stay there....But the after hour service is not there,the women complain of the cold since it was raining but there was no one on site to supply with extra blankets the furniture is old,and uncomfortable...but overall the stay was wonderful

To much walking to your rondawel for Retired people over 60 years.I must say, nothing wrong with the food and the service. Very friendly personel. If they get a golfcart to transport the elderly it would be super! Thanks we enjoyed our stay!

Situated on top of the Magoebaskloof mountain pass is Magoebaskloof Mountain Lodge, their restaurant has a great selection of meals, their rooms are idyllic, and the views of the surrounding hills are spectacular. Unfortunately, this is overshadowed by the lodge’s staff and their inability to resolve conflicts instead they rat you out to other gets, which in turn causes huge arguments between neighbouring guests to occur. Very well having procedures in place to handle issues, however when they do not follow through with those procedures the stay just becomes unpleasant!

The place is okay, besides the mountain views, there really isnt much beauty inside the Lodge, the chalets needs some upgrading. Not to mention the service from the restaurant was really bad. The waitresses were so impatient, during dinner and breakfast, the lady that served us dinner was blatantly rude. I definitely wont be going back.

Ahhh George very talkative but fun to be around.Only the jacuzzi disappointed us it was cold, so they were boiling water and pouring inside which was very bad

Could have got a 4 or 5 but, there is no security at the gate, and it is open most of the time (minus 5 points immediately). Our small fridge was pretty lame, only one stove top plate worked too. It seems that the place has not been maintained for a few years. The staff though, are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. It is a beautiful area to visit.

A quiet place and enjoy with the love of your life or family/friends. The rooms are big and beautiful with hot water in the showers. A very perfect view of the mountains

It was really nice... Having to spend a day of wonder with my whole family at large enjoyed gamings, mountain riding, and also I can I forget the breakfast.. And also the lady the was doing house keeping...

The service is poor. We booked 2 nights, the room was clean the TV had a wrong remote u had to get out of bed to change channels, even the channel selection are not favourable, there is no channel o or trace. The was not bathing Soap, no tea or coffee just cattles and mugs no microwave to warm food, the swimming pool was dirty only one jacuzzi working, always fully booked, if you are planing on visiting the place bear that in mind, though the view is beautiful but service is poor. I asked for a remote change nothing happened.

We booked and paid for 2 nights but only stayed for one, the room was full of spiders. Had to move the bed away from the wall as there was spiders walking on the headboard. Counted 8 spiders in the bathroom of which one was on my towel. Bugs and spiders, dead and alive falling from the roof, cob webs everywhere especially in the roof and behind the bed. Looks like the room has never been dusted or fogged. This was the main reason we left early.Some other negatives include:One windows curtain is too short so people can look in,No remotes for tv and dstvTiolet seat wont stay up went one is seated,Some cutlery was dirty,Weak wifi signalCoffee was cold at breakfast, when I asked the waitress to kindly heat it up in microwave she stopped talking to us for the rest of breakfast.Previous evening the waiter put a wrongful charge on our bill, when I pointed it out she argued with me, afterwards she admitted that it was a system error. (Whether true or not)Some positives invlude: extremely beautiful scenery and lodge, very good food.If it was just one or two negatives one can easily overlook it but combined it makes an unpleasant stay.

Out of this world, the staff is great and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit with you. Keep up the hospitality.

Bathroom light was off all weekend and the one bedrooms lamp was flickering

If you are looking for a humble place to stay in Magoebaskloof then this is the lodge for you. It has all the basic self catering necessities in their cottages. The lodge is central if you want to visit the Debengeni Falls and other places such as the Ebeneezer Dam. The staff are very helpful and we didnt experience anything negative at this resort. Of course lockdown took its toll on the place and some facilities were not up to standard (pool, miniature golf) but this will come right. The bar has a good selection of alcohol and specifically the Gin. I will definitely visit here again.

Saying that Magoebaskloof Mountain Lodge is a 3-star hotel is an absolute understatement. The bed mattress can improve, but let me tell you - Ive been to numerous so-called 5-star hotels in the country, but none of them can compare to the friendly and truly sincere service that this lodge offers. There are fun activities for a couple getaway, the view is spectacular and its a fun drive there. Overall a definitive 5-star experience in our books! Thank you George (GM) for a stay well never forget!

Very very (very) clean! Such friendly staff. A few issues with broken door handles and missing clothes hangers, but that was probably the previous visitors. Will take it up with the staff. Fantastic experience overall. Wonderful and beautiful area, loved the experience!!

A very nice hotel in a marvelous setting. Rooms good and service excellent. The place is starting to show its age but overall a great stay and a great atmosphere.

Found bugs, hair and stains all over the bedding. There were small pieces of wood on our towels. Im glad I noticed it before I took a shower, otherwise I wouldve gotten splinters in me. Other than the dirt, not a terrible place for a short weekend. The surrounding is beautiful. But I couldnt spend a week here, the chalet is a bit too cramped for four people.

The place is rundown and there is no privacy. Check first the negative reviews to get a real sense regarding the place.The fridge was smelly, the rondavel was dirty, the stove doesnt work, the toilet is in a weird position, there is no shower, just a bath with a foam dispenser.I dont recommend this place, it is not only unpleasant but also the staff gossips a lot.Hopefully, my review is posted by Google. Otherwise, check reviews on reputable sources like booking.com with real photos and more reviews.

The place is clean. The food is great. The view is great. The mist in the morning makes the place nice to be in.The place has few things they can improve on; wi fi connectivity is very bad in the rooms, noisy fans in the rooms and they battle to control the noise by guests in the premises.

Its a resting place- The wifi doesnt work and no effort whatsoever to solve this. Was told by reception that the router is in someones room and they dont know who and they cant asks the guest as it is invading their privacy. When asked to speak to a manager was denied.- When a white person gave the same wifi request to just ask the guest if they have a router in their rooms, their request was granted which I find very racist. Nonetheless the whole entire week stay this wasnt resolved-The room my parents were supposed to sleep in smelled so bad my mom had to sleep in the kitchen on the couch. The cleaning lady tried her best but her efforts were in vain. They had headaches blocked noses and couldnt sleep. No effort whatsoever to move them to another room.- The fridge did not work only our freezer did which means all our food were split fortunately we later on received another fridge.-Only once stove plate really worked making cooking an entire days event.- all in all its a nice place to rest.

Magoebaskloof is supposed to be quiet and peaceful. The hotel played music very loud way into the early hours of Sunday morning. That was disappointing and extremely inconsiderate to the locals and visitors to Magoebaskloof.

Pleasant stay with very friendly staff, every chalet is slightly different. We opted for self catering and made our own meals, shop supplied wood and cool drinks at fair prices. Good base location to visit all the attractions in the area.

Very Very nice.The spare ribs we ate was cooked to perfection.I would however ever recommend the. To put a small gate at the top of the stairs that lead doen to to chess area as its a dangerous for toddlers who wonder off, but other than that the experience was very nice.Felt like we were transported to a Caribbean island white the interior and vibe.Youll definitely see us again

We stopped here on our way through. The food was good and its great to have some vegetarian options. They have a good selection of gin and beer and the staff is very kind!
