An awesome experience, the whole family enjoyed the night out at the Stables. A couple of wood burning fireplaces around to keep the establishment warm and cozy and adds to ambiance. Service was great and the whole place had a family friendly vibe. Definitely going back and few times in the future to come....

Really enjoyed the relaxing intimate rustic atmosphere.Theres cool areas for the kids to play even a few bunnies to look at.The owner came to personally greet and had a little chat.Fireplaces everywhere and occasional live music.Theres a bar and lots of tables.The ribs and meaty pizza is nice,( personally I didnt enjoy the seafood pizza with huge pieces of fish on it)Milkshakes are nice too.They are quite slow on the food.You can also order takeaway and then collect.Theres also a breakfast buffet.

First impression:Really good, real food: I love the garlic and feta focaccia, the hand-cut, crispy fries and the well-prepared, good cuts of meat. The owner and his staff are attentive and theres a lovely down-to-earth vibe that will keep me coming back for more.Unfortunately subsequent visits did not go so well. Last one a week ago we left after waiting to be served for more than an hour as staff were just not interested. Final straw was when one of our party trod in dog poo right next to the table. Really not on!

Loved the live show by Brandon Pypers? The delicious pizza and divine cocktails: they offer a mocktail too! Kids love it. Adults love it!

Our experience was very unpleasant. Waitor asked us twice what we would like to order after we already placed our order 15min before. Once we received our food we had the owners dog begging at our table. We asked 5 times for bartender and waitor to remove their pet from our table. Our food wasnt that wow for the price you have to pay. And we had to wait on our sauces while our food got cold. It took Forever for the to bring it. A person goes out to have dinner at a restaurant to relax and as a treat. Its not a place for pets otherwise we would have stayed home. Once we addressed the issue with both owners they responded with clever cheeky remarks/explanations. Also the kids play area is way out of view so if there isnt a table available right by it, you wont be able to keep an eye on your kids.

The new owners are great. Wishing them all the best for 2021.

Not only is it a very interesting place to visit, but they serve the best ribs in town. Craft beer and beer like Fokkoflager and beer on tap is available here. You sit at the bar, inside or outside. Kids have enough space to play. Live shows can sometimes be enjoyed under the stars. Look out for the crabs. They cross the road from the river and then chill in the restaurant. When visiting Jongensfontein yearly for the month of February, The Stables is our favourite eatery. Last night was our fifth visit this month alone. Their food is excellent, staff know what they do and the owners are friendly.

Had to rereview, Although the pizzas are bloody delicious, we had terrible experience. After an hour we still did not have a drink on our table, some of the pizzas came after 1 hr 30min and the other after 2 hours. Not 1 pizza had all the ingredients on. Jolene out waitress was fantastic and did her best but managers were around but did not come to explain there was a back log of food or that we were missing some ingredientsWould not Reccomend in season. Out of season i think it will be fine.

11 of us. Almost all pizzas had the wrong toppings, an hour and 30 minutes to get some of the pizzas. Another pizza didnt have all the toppings mentioned on the menu and had to ask for it to be corrected. At one hour and 45 mins of waiting, we were still waiting for two more pizzas to come. Frustrated at the poor service and lack of assistance from the managing staff. Although the pizzas were delicious, we are extremely unimpressed with how understaffed and under prepared they are.

Awesome place for the best pizza in stillbaai. Come and relax on the grass or table. Sometimes good live bands and always a good vibe going. Prices are all so very good and the jagermeister is ice cold. Definitely a place to visit when in the area. On the hi season it can get very crowded so book a place in advance if you can.

Atmosphere was very pleasant. Wood-fired pizza had a good taste although the mozzarella/cheddar blend was quite greasy. Craft beer on tap. How can you complain?

With a premium wine list we ordered a bottle of Springfield Whole Berry Cab Sauv.At R290 per bottle the waitress came to our table saying there was no cork screw in the restaurant but she could push the cork into the bottle if we want to........? Service was rubbish!Burger patty was a JC butchery compressed meat rubber patty. We were told it was home made.Will not recommend this place to anyone.Be warned stay away.

Great atmosphere, amazing service and even better food. Pizzas and ribs are off the charts. Fireplaces in all the rooms and big screen tvs in the bar making it the perfect setting to watch sport and have a drink!

Booked a table for 18:00. 5 adults & 5 children. Drinks came quickly. We were told no pizzas were available despite the menu, so ordered the only other meals - steak, ribs, calamari. Other tables around us ended up having pizzas (some arrived before and some after us). We waited over an hour for food to come and got 3 of the 6 dishes we ordered. The flustered waiter had some excuses about the kitchen and/or never having waitered before.. We decided to cancel the other orders and leave since the children were getting hysterical. The young manager offered no apology and actually argued because we refused to pay for some dishes they billed us for, but we didn’t receive. The excuse regarding the pizzas available to everyone except us was just as lame. Truly horrible experience which could’ve been quite the opposite, since the food wasn’t actually half bad.

Food very disappointing as we had a lovely meal during the Christmas holidays but our recent meal made us feel that we would not return. We had fish and chips which tasted as if they had been reheated in a microwave oven. Very sad 😔.

The venue has recently been renovated and there is now a little gift shop/farm stall inside.The menu although limited, the portions are generous and there is lovely indoor and shaded outdoor seating.There are a two issues, the first being the service which is slow and the waitresses seem inexperienced. Lastky here is not really a jungle gym for kids so bring toys/games with to entertain little ones.

Pathetic service. Arrived at 2pm and was told to wait for an hour to order a pizza. After 70min we were told that the kitchen will not take pizzas. This has happened 3 times in the last week. Dont waste your time to go there. Rude management....condescending. Dont do it to yourself.....

Great pizza but...We waited an hour for the pizza and half of the food was cold when it came.All the craft beers were finised and most of the wine. We couldnt drink the beer or wine we wanted, the ones that was advertised all over the restaurant.Afterwards we asked for coffee and the manager refused. The waitress wanted to make for us but the manager simply refuse.Unpleasant experience.Nice waiters, otherwise extremely rude management.

Terrible after an hour they came to tell us that the food is on a 2 hour back up,and that the menu has changed,to a few items an pizza.They should be prepared for the capacity if people,we also made a booking 3 days before,they could not find the booking....Terrible,will not recommend that place ever.

Unfortunately the power tripped the whole time - sad for the band!Under staffed, card machine not working, power cuts the whole time, two waitresses quit on the evening... Bad business - sorry guys!
