Had such a great time! The kids enjoyed it so much and the pizza was great. This will definitely be our go to place.

Beautiful setting. Going early in the morning one enjoys the peace and tranquility. We sat inside. Pleasant enough. Staff are over polite and visit the table far too often. Food is nice. Not generous portions though. Had salmon for breakfast but basically was bits of salmon in my meal. Will go back.

Took the kids to the Carnival and they had a blast! Lots of activities to keep the little ones occupied while we sat and watched them while enjoying our meal (a very yummy pizza!) The kids were excited to make their own pizza. I however felt the drinks menu could be better. No cocktail options or G&T my personal favorites.

This place is stunning. Our favourite place to go on a Saturday. Excellent service, warm friendly waiters and such a peaceful setting.

Visited the Jonkershuis Restaurant. Libby was very helpful when making a booking for our big group. Even our waitress gave great service and great suggestions on the day. This estate has plenty to offer. Beautiful views, a Restaurant, playground for kids (called the Carnival) and even accommodation. Our table ordered almost everything from the menu, and each dish was quite enjoyable. The Carnival is truly the perfect place for families - parents get to sit inside the Carnival also enjoying a meal, while keeping a close eye on the kids as they play. A real hidden gem. I will be back.

Great enclosed play area with 2 jungle gyms and a trampoline with safety net all around. There are also plastic bikes for the little kids. Pizzas and beverages are priced reasonably. Ill certainly come here again.

Kids can play while adults can sit back and relax with drinks and eats and, and can keep an eye on their kids at the same time.Small water slippery slide, trampoline and jungle gym.Simple making it easy to choose a meal and kind on the pocket.Kids can have fun building their own pizza ( ingredients are limited to 3).Burgers are as Delicious to look at and to eat, wow when we saw it, mmmm when we ate it. I was full and satisfied.Lovely long scenic drive out there.Go there!

One of the few places you can break away to with your kids even in poor weather. Sheltered from sun and wind. We go here quite often, and its is very well set up.I would say it is for kids between 2 and 7. older kids (max Grade 3) still enjoy it, but they get a bit big for the play area.Staff are professional and there is quite a selection of breakfasts on the menu. My own was not that well prepared this time but usually its good value.In warmer months be there early and leave when the crowds arrive around 11am.Great spot to get the kids out of the house and enjoy a coffee while they run (safely) around.

Well maintained grounds. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful sculptures and historic architecture. Their modern farmhouse cottage is styled beautifully with high-end fixtures and the amenities are fantastic.

Absolutely gorgeous place for both parents and kids, a hidden gem!!! Prices are reasonable and still good food. Service is amazing and literally a carnival city for kids.

I would really recommend this place if you would just like to relax and lots of fun stuff for small kids to play on. Place is neat and service is great. Lots of trees meaning lots of shade. This place even has a picnic area as well 😇

Never disappoints. Always great fun for our little girl. We gave been going since she was 18 months old and even more fun now at 4years old. Kids love making their own pizzas. The Slipppy slide and jumping castle today was an extra treat. Service is also always great

What a gem of a place. Beautiful scenery, great food options, plenty of play areas for the kids, theres a maze as well. Word of advice if you have toddlers,take extra clothes and towels, theres a slippery slide you wont be able to keep them off🙂

There are 2 restaurants here, we went to the kids carnival for my 3 year old daughter. An absolute gem with various play areas.Great food but...it does take a while for it to arrive. We ordered a pizza and it took 40 minutes to arrive. Kids can build their own pizza. Prices are reasonable. Definitely recommended.

Best kids play are in Cape Town and surrounds by far. Any parents dream destination to R&R whilst the kids keep themselves busy. Wish I discovered it 4 years ago.

Lovely place for a family outing. One of their sections is called Carnival, perfect for 2 to 6 year olds. Trampoline, jumping Castle, large play installations, sand pits. Food wise they have burgers pizzas, fish, great cheese platters, excellent estate Sauvignon Blanc (Bertha, five star white wine), candy floss, waffles,etc. Really a worthwhile trip. Ample parking and good roads.

Awesome option for both adults and kids. Great outdoor play park with variety of climbing apparatus and slides catering for little ones to bigger children. Good place to host kids parties as there is a pizza making station for kids. Has a more adult offering restaurant on the premises as well. Look out for the beautiful peacocks on the farm!

This resort is not at all friendly to those with disabilities. The staff were very accommodating though in helping my aged parents. Their breakfast foods left much to be desired but the coffee was good. The linens/ towels in the rooms did not smell like they had been freshly washed. They smelt musty like they had been left wet in the dryer for days.

What a great place to take the small kids in your life. Lots for them to do, including a sandpit, jumping castle, jungle gyms, bikes, etc, as well as make your own pizza! The adults can order wine and pizza to enjoy while watching the kiddies from a mostly shady table. Staff are friendly and the bathrooms were clean and tidy. Reasonably priced menu.

Had a play date at the play park for the kids and as mothers we had lunch at the cafe. Great food, just wish they had aircon, but the place is well ventilated and there was lots of outside tables. Hence still giving it five stars. The play park is the best as it is extremely educational and includes play and fun. The perfect balance.

Service was slow initially but picked up. Kids had fun. Menu is very limited.

We arrived at 10:30 for breakfast.. had to wait until almost 11 to get menus because there wasnt enough. We placed our orders and had to wait and wait. The waitress was not interested in giving us feedback on why the meals and not just ours by the way was taking so long. Then a jnr manager came out at 11:30 to say things were taking a while longer because they had to cater for a larger party of people and could not get to our meals. At 12 went to ask where our meals were.. we not sure they busy inside were told.. went to check again nothing then everyone even ppl who came after us started getting their meals at 12:30 when enquiring why, no one could answer then I had to insist on the supervisor to come out. She took her own time and we were just told sorry we cant manage the meals we just getting them out.. at 12:45 I had enough my kids were Hungry and there was still no indication of how long we would still wait. Upsetting that a place that is supposed to be able to cater for large groups could not manage their own kitchen

We booked to have our end of year with our children in order for them to have fun in the play park. On arrival we were told that our children can not enter due to a private party.Our children very unhappy was only allowed to play on the grass and see how other children are having fun. We were told that they should have informed us but did not. If we knew we would not have taken our children with. We placed our food order for our kids and us. The kids food were broughtFirst. My 6 year old had to wait for her pizza after asking twice for it. She ended up eating with her sister. Pizza only came after everyone was almost done eating without an apology.! Its a very beautiful place but due to this first experience would not recommend to anyone!

This is such a special hidden gem. The estate offers a stunning wedding venue area alongside a soft bubbling stream, as well as very elegant Bed n Breakfast Accomodation. There are two restaurants.The Carnival is a fantastic child-orientated restaurant. It has two large jungle gyms, a bike track, sandpit, & trampolines. They also have a pizza bar where kids can create their own pizzas. It is a lovely treat for the little ones, and a nice break for moms and dad to relax on a wine estate in between the beautiful landscape and soft bubbling stream in the background. We have been to Weltevreden twice, and will definitely go back again

Lovely estate. We only spent time at the Carnival Park, but the kids loved it and there was craft beer on tap and great pizza to keep the adults entertained. The prices were also very reasonable with most of the pizza being under R100.

I was left without clues of some of artistic statues that are displayed like historic items, the place is more like a museum that an Estate.

However, for people with younger kids, nearby the river is not fully fenced so you will need to keep the kids close by as they play.

Truly a little hidden gem on our doorstep. A nice big play area for the kiddies. There used to be no charge to enjoy the area, however this changed to a very reasonable R 10 table charge. As with most free things visitors just ordering tap water all day does not pay the bills, so fully understand the move. They serve pizzas and some other light food. The pricing on the menu items are reasonable and the pizzas I have had are nice. We have been repeat visitors a couple of times. Most of the play areas and tables are covered by trees or shade cloth to provide shade. Can sometimes get a bit busy, so get in early.

Amazing venue & staff(superb service)! Cozy thatched roofed room with period furnishings. Private driver tour of the Stellenbosch wine region arranged for us by the owner. Loved it!

I attended my sisters wedding at the weltevreden estate and it was marvelous. The food was delicious and staff so cordial so kind. I cannot wait to visit once more for pizza 😳😂❤️

It was a lovely experience with the kids today. Starting with the friendly greeting of the security lady at the entrance boom and the rest of the personnel we encountered where we parked to the great service at the carnival area I can only say that the personnel are great. My two year old loved all there was to offer for her to play on at the carnival area and my son enjoyed the two resident dogs that are so sweet and well behaved. She enjoyed sneaking after the hadeda birds and the squirrels in the gardens and trying to locate crocodiles in the little river and searching for fairies in the trees and bushes. Sitting in the sun having pizza and milk shake with the kids was a great way to relax after they were tired from playing and exploring.We will go back again and stay longer. Thanks for a lovely experience.
