Very important historical landmark in our freedom struggle were nelson mandela stayed in the 1940s starting his political campaign and vilakazi street named after benedict vilacazi back in 1946 who was a zulu poet and novelist and translated english too zulu and the only street were two noble peace price winners homes in the street namely Archbishop Desmond Thutu and Nelson mandela with his 1940s match box home converted 2009 into a museum and lots of shopping opportunities and great restuarants including Sakumzi , great african buffett restuarant opened 2001 , great atmosphere and heart beat of soweto.

The only street in the world where 2 Nobel peace winners lived.Yes it is a tourist area because of its historical value.

Jolly place, proper for hangouts and chilling with buddies.Environment is vibey and surrounded by people who are wonderfully made.
