Had a pleasant experience with friends when we went for late drinks on a Saturday. Due to COVID the process to get into the restaurant was a bit of a mess because we had to call a friend of ours to the entrance to prove that we indeed had a table booked inside. The food was good but limited menu options. Overall good but not as WOW as I would have expected it to be.

Beautiful restaurant in Bryanston. Great food and lovely music. I went to the restaurant with family to celebrate moms birthday. It was my first time there so the Vurtul menus (you need to scan a code to access the menu ) were a surprise. If you dont mind scanning a Code to access your menu and you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere with good food, then Gemelli is the place for you.

The food was so good i spoke fluent italian after 🤣🤣Starter, mains and desert.... flawlessly delivered taste sensations.That pastry was so light and fluffy so you have tp leave your diet at home.Have some fun with the pasta, INDULGE, your waist can take it.The cocktails are something else. Light and refreshing with just the right touch of courage.The service was incredible. It is as if the waiters understood we were there to have a good time. Imagine.The restaurant is beautifully designed with quirky but inviting accents.The various sections of the restaurant allow you to cater for any mood accompanied by good food... birthdays, meetings, meals with friends or dates with significant others. This restaurant has amazing and tasty food. Well seasoned food and great ambience. I went there for a baby shower lunch and i loved the place. I will definitely go back again.

Excellent food and service to match. The calamari was rubbery which means they were cooked too long. Pork belly and everything else was superb. I will say the atmosphere was way to loud, I couldnt hear my other half speaking half the time or the music for that matter. If I go back Ill go during the week when its when there are less clientele.

The food was delicious as always. The staff were attentive and friendly. We really appreciated the fact that they accommodated us by making a specific drink we wanted even though it wasnt on the menu! It is a great dining experience 👌

This place was magnificently vibey and the service was excellent, I must really commend the service staff who worked so well and fast even though the restaurant was very busy, I recommend making a reservation. We ordered a seafood pasta and the pork belly, the pasta was okay but the pork belly was exquisite.

I think I went on a down day. My girl friends had been raving about this spot but i was underwhelmed... food was OK. Vibe was above average.

I always wanted to visit Gemelli and today I did! I was very impressed! The food was overly impressive and to my delight, exactly what I was expecting. From what I seen in other posted pics, having checked it out, prior to my arrival, it was well plated, a great portion, especially for the price and extremely tasty. Compliments to the chef. I dine out frequently so I can say I was totally satiated. Overall the service was great, fantastic hospitality....the music was a tad bit loud but the vibe was just what I was looking for and I had a great time. I will definitely be back again. Thank you and please keep up the awesome ambience!

Quite an impressive restaurant. The patron makes an extra effort to make guest feel welcomed. The food is well crafted but the menu could do with some more options.

Over rated, over priced for the quality of food. Nothing special done for the birthday person besides a paid for desert! No attention to detail, chipped side plate.

The food here is to die for worth every cent. The service however not so great this spot has gotten pretty popular big ups to them; however you might struggle to get your waiters attention.

We were told that booking has to be made way in advance but we booked the day before for 8 people and manage to get a reservation.Service was excellent. All enjoyed their meals however my dish, the Norwegian Salmon was tasteless. Just to check that I was not full of nonsense my business partner also tasted it and agreed 100% that it was bad, couldn’t eat it and the waiter offered to take it back. Sole was my replacement which was okay. The rest of my colleagues enjoyed their steak dishes. .Dessert went down well with most. Brownie had a weird taste. We ordered a Rum and Raisin Malva pudding for a takeaway which we did not get. Cocktails were good.

The food was amazing. I had lamb and risotto, and my friends had the porkbelly and mash. I would recommend the place.

Trendy & homely vibe with delicious authentic Italian meals. Must book in advance, except the patio area that takes walk ins. Great wine selection. Menu is high in butter & oily, very yummy but not for the health conscious.

Really wanted to try the food here as I have read all the great reviews.Walked in, saw 8 staff members. Not one was wearing a mask. Not one even had a mask near their head. After asking them all twice to wear their masks, I left and decided I couldnt take the risk.

My second time here… 1st time was owe-some, my second experience was not so great… I was at the restaurant side and it felt like I am at a Tavern… yes they were rowdy groups, yes few of them making noise and screaming and shooters flying in… here I was on a date, midweek… and the food was just okay… it has become the drinks place, and by the way there is also food kind of vibe…

The most delicious meal I have ever had. The steak melted in my mouth and I felt like I was a judge on master chef. All of the flavors and textures, it was a magical experience. We had a great time, the service was amazing, the manager came to ask us how our meals were after the plates were cleared, he remembered who ate what. Talk about looking after your customers. Our waitress Samantha was also awesome!We will definitely be returning to Gemelli for some mouth watering meals very soon!

The dombolo breakfast was good.I felt there wasnt much options for the people who do not eat pork on the breakfast menu. I always hate asking pork yo be removed and such.

I had a Honeymoon Risotto. I am in love. Very luxurious but definitely one of the very very best dishes I have ever enjoyed on a luxury menu. I will keep this as my treat meal. You just cant get enough

Great scenery however customer service was very poor, had to keep on making a lot of requests because we werent attended to promptly. The pasta had too much sauce which was overwhelming. Not pleased at all about my first time experience at Gemelli.

Best burger in JHB in my opinion and on the menu as a breakfast burger. Coffee also excellent.We have only been for lunch and not tried the main meals. Menu not cheap but based on the food seen and tasted likely to be excellent. Also find the staff top tate and attentive. Nice long bar for those that like a drinks and dinner vibe.

Guys, lovely place. But no one is following Covid regulations. Not even waitrons and managers. Masks on chin is NOT correct. And patrons wondering around with no masks on. Food = good. Drinks = good. Social distancing = zero. Completely full. (Which in normal times is great) but in Covid times, it is the responsibility of management to limit numbers.

Great Italian restaurant with a South African twist. Ambience is afropean buzz, amazing food, great service. Always be sure to make booking for dinner as it’s generally fully booked in the evening. Cocktail bar has an awesome vibe for late drinks. You can never go wrong with ordering the beef fillet which is personal fav... lots of delicious dessert to choose from two. Very beautiful restaurant. We were here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Very outdoorsy which is good in summer. Unless it rains.Good cosmopolitan crowd. Scores of expensive cars outside. A cosmopolitan Car Wash perhaps? Where instead of serving braai meat and pap, you get exquisite Italian inspired dishes.The food was great. Im told the chef/owner trained in Italy and that really shines in the food.4 stars because the wait staff seemed overwhelmed with orders that it took a while and sometimes a gentle reminder that I had asked for water.But great place overall. Will definitely come back.

One of Joburg‘s best restaurants. Great for special occasions. David Beckham even eats here when he visits Johannesburg.It can get quite noisy, so take that into consideration when booking. (Booking is a must, they are crazy busy all the time)
