I like spar. Most of the time theres an open tellar that you can just walk to. The shop is not upgraded like pick n pay but I dont mind. I find my favorite oats there so thats good. Competitive prices and lots of fresh fruit and veg available as opposed to pnp. Most of the staff are friendly, I like that.

As a regular client you expect a reasonable experience, however today upon wanting to purchase a single item. I was told no card purchases under R20. Now sure that is not a big amount but I was not willing to buy another time just for the sake of their turnover.We are in the modern age where the majority of people no longer carry cash.This is in unacceptable where I can now got across the road to another outlet and purchase what need without that concern.

From Monday to Thursday its quite and very peaceful however there are busiest morning and after work hours....

The quality of the meat in the fridges appeared not to be so fresh there were some good packs of meat here and there though, also the butchery could not cut us fresh rib xhops...dead flies on some of the meat packs in the fridges...very unhygienic for a food store, overall the rest of the store was okay!

For Me, th place was Peaceful..

Make sure you buy either their milk tart or the Lamingtons. The fruit platter was surprisingly good with all the fruits sweet and ripe, as you normally expect to get green to semi ripened fruit

Worst spar in the whole world, it smells and its dirty.

Front Parking is a night mare. But shopping is a breeze. Very help full. Even the Satellite shops like the pet shop.Park in back. Avoid Sunset.

Always smells, no trolleys ever and if you find one its filthy! Milk is most of the time expired, even though the bb date has not been reached. Nice specials but not worth the shop..

The pastry section on has alot of work to be done. Had great service from the management though. Scratch that the service, has not been consistent at all. Eric the manager leaves alot to be desired.

The malls are crowded during December time. This shop and the P and P over the road is the easiest shop if you are wanting to avoid crowds.

I was going to buy meat for braai only to find that it was of a very poor quality. I couldnt buy it but I bought Death by Chocolate cake from the Bakery . When I served the cake at home we found out it was stale it was as if it was there on the shelf for months I was so disappointed.

Staff are not overly friendly, have had an occasion or two where I found that the pastries were very old (had mold on them), when reported to lady behind the counter, she shrugged her shoulder and walk away.

Sometimes it feels crowded, but good enough quality fresh produce and well stocked otherwise. Decent prices.

Wouldnt really shop here, store is not tidy. Fresh produce section is the worst i have ever seen. They do not stock the freshest veg or fruit. Store is very cramped.

Store in need of an overhaul

My least favourite spar in richards bay. They are expensive compared to other spars in town. Non friendly or helpfull staff. Custommers was getting harassed by criminals and security guards just looking on. Rather give this one a miss
