The service was excellent and really enjoyed the food. Waiter was great, well knowledge and gave good service and recommendations. We went in the week, so it is more quite and so better for social distance. Had the mild butter chicken and Chooze Ka Kurchan. It was well spiced, flavourful and devine. This is a more finer dinning setup, so you do pay a bit more, but it was well worth it. Would definitely go here again.

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Their curry is apparently R140 and doesnt come with rice. Seems a bit ridiculous. When I enquired why we had to pay for the rice separately the manager was rude and condescending. I think they need to learn the concept that a happy customer is the best advertising. I would discourage anyone to support this as this is day light robbery.

This use to be our favorite Indian cuisine restaurant but definitely not anymore.Firstly, they are listed on the entertainer app for a 2 for 1 special but we were told at the restaurant that it was not allowed.Second, we ordered samoosas for starters and it was horrible.Lastly, we ordered the lamb roganjosh and the butter chicken for mains. The prices were ridiculously high and the food was not at all worth the money we paid. It was flavorless and we could definitely taste that the meat was either previously frozen for a long period or old.Ver very disappointed.

Mom and I thought wed treat ourselves to a curry for mothers day before the Dynamo event. Sat down with 2 and a half hours to kill. Mom ordered a cocktail which took 30 minutes to arrive and wasnt what shed asked for. Placed our starter order and shortly thereafter our main as we could see it was rather busy. After an hour our starters arrived which were ice cold. Sat another hour waiting for our main, which we never got to enjoy as we had to leave for the show. The waitress came by once to ask if wed like something else to drink only to be told that the gin was finished. Apart from that we were completely ignored. People arrived after us and left before! Terrible service! Such a dampener on mothers day! Very disappointed with the service and what little food we did eat. Will definitely not be returning or recommending!

The food we had was good (butter chicken) but we had to send the naan back for being too crispy. The waitress didn’t smile and spoke so softly that we couldn’t hear what she was saying. It felt like we were disturbing her day by being customers. The manageress was hiding out on the balcony having a cigarette while we were eating. Don’t think we will be back.

This review is for food delivery from UberEats.I love the food from Raj, glad they opened a branch in Menlyn, used to eat a lot from their Midrand branch when I stayed there.The Naan bread is very good, great flavours in their curries - my wife and kids love their butter chicken.I am a fan of their Roganjosh myself, can it this until my stomach explodes!If you have not tried them yet, make sure that you do, you will not regret it.

A reference for Indian cuisine in Pretoria

The restaurant has no ambiance.We must have waited a while before anyone actually came to address us at the door.Normally we recieve popadams and a sauce when seated, this time, absolutely nothing.In terms of the food, its average for the price you pay. We had a prawn biryani, and the prawns were not the freshest. There were only 2 waiters to look after the entire restaurant which seems odd. Waiters were inattentive, when we enquired about the popadams, he just said that they dont have. The portions are also small for what you pay.Not happy at all with this place. Seems like the Raj franchise quality is going down.

Nice place for Indian Food..

Ashoka restaurant is an up market indian restaurant offering mainly indian cousine. It is located in the main casino area on floor number 1. It has ample outside and inside sitting places. It is well organised and the service is good. It is rather quiet on week days but busy on weekends and they also deliver within the casino.

Walking in on a Satureday night month end and the place is empty was a bit worrying. However! Im not sure the name of the waiter but he was AMAZING. Never had such good service. The cocktail he recommeded was to die for. He asked if he could serve the food in platter style which we appreciated. The chicken in yoghurt sauce starter was devine. Never had such tender chicken. The chicken tikka starter was so tasty. We had decided to only do starters here and the rest of our meal at different restaurants. We were so dissapointed. We should have just stayed right here. Out of the four restaurants we visited on Saturday night this was the only one we enjoyed and would go back to again.
