Absolutely shocked at the service received at the Dros restaurant (Head Office)! Serving old chips. Definitely not up to standards and what youd expect from a well established franchise. Im sorry to let you know but this was the last time I would support you.

Lovely deli and restaurant. Menu for breakfast needs more choice as we are not big eaters and the portions are too big. Good fast service.

Lamb rib not well prepared, much too fat, 80% brisket/fat and the rest actually ribs with meat. 500gram rumpsteak also not good, as thin as a snitzel and very dry when ordered rare. Service very slow, no management, not very clean inside and tables dirty. We had pork spareribs the previous week which was very tasty and well prepared. Place needs serious management.

I love Helgas. They stock fresh products. They often have great specials on meat. They have a fair variety of not expensive, but tasty wines. Their brand products are very popular and always a good buy.I always spend more than what I planned, because everything looks so yummy!

Food was cold and after we asked the manager to assist they replaced chips with hot chips and switched off the airconditioner as they said that was the reason for cold food which is absurd as food served was cold

Great lunch with my hubby and another friend. We had beef espatada and hubby pork espatada - with pap and chips - greatest in Pta. Friendly staff - especially as weve been regulars there for may years. It was great to go there as our first restaurant experience since lockdown started.

Priced market related. A Dros franchise. Had a T-bone steak. It was tasty, but cooled down too quickly. They had most of Helgas bottled sauces on the table. Typical pub lunch restaurant. Nice enough for a quick bite. To exit, one must walk through the shop. Worth a visit once In a while, but nothing extraordinary. Situated in industrial area. Closes normally at 16h30.

The hamburger patties we used to buy at Helgaswere the best BUT we will not buy the patties at Helgas anymore. The patties we bought Saturday were tasteless and fatty.We did not receive any reply after we sent an email to complain about the quality of the patties. R65.00 paid for 4 patties.We bought 6 packs and invited guests toeat hamburgers at our home.We were very dissapointed as Helgas patties used to be the best.

This a well stocked if somewhat cramped warehouse and restaurant for meat specialities. The restaurant is excellent.Helga s is the meat supplier to Dros. The facilities extend to the type of bottled groceries and wine used in the Dros restaurants.Not really wheelchair friendly.

Great products and the restaurant serves a great breakfast. I just cannot understand why they refuse to sell more than 2kg of biltong per customer. We have tried to order a week in advance but both times our order was lost. Another time we were told that we cannot have more biltong because then they might have to tell other customers that the biltong has been sold out...

Miss the previous breakfast menu. Loved the Irish Coffee special, even though my first ones had sour cream. Boerewors (thin) for breakfast still the best taste in town

Very disappinting. Fridges dirty and not recently cleaned - ice layers packed against sides. Not appealing or appetising at all!

Helgas is a known place for meats, meals and bakery in the food factory area of Silverton. If is next to other food factory shops such as Escort, Sea Harvest

Be careful when you buy ribs 50% of the mass is just sauce. I measured 745g sauce on a 1.5kg rib pack for R90 per kg, thus R180 per kg in reality

Just had coffee which was okay. Helgas restaurant is now a DROS and they did not have a light lunch available. So coffee had to suffice!

I just bought a pack of rump steak from Helga’s in Silverton and got home to marinade the steak, just to get the most horrible smell coming from the meat and to find out that the meat went bad.On the package it says that the meat was packed on 13 Novermber 2018. Truly so disappointing and waste of money to purchase meat there!If it was possible I would give a zero star rating for this experience!

Pricing at Helgas has changed significantly over the last year or so, We used to do our monthly Meat shopping there, but dont do so anymore. Apart from the prices though, they do sell good quality meat and groceries, and things like cherries and guacamole that you dont find at most other stores.
