How long should you wear sunglasses, no make-up, drive a vehicle?. That will very helpful.

If ever you require help with your eyes, dont waste time, go straight to the Pretoria Eye Institute. This is how all medical practices should be run. The warmth, care and down to earth approach was mind blowing. These Professionals helped restore my faith in the medical system. Its a pity that you can only award 5 stars, because 10 times that. Trust me you will be in good hands. By the way, i had surgery for lense replacement and a detached retina. Its been three weeks, and even though the healing process takes about 8 weeks, the results so far are amazing. Thanks for the great service Dr Charl and his team.

My dad (aged 79) was diagnosed with macular degeneration a few years ago and hes been a patient of Dr Niemandts since the diagnosis, and has had monthly injections to try and slow the degeneration. I cannot aptly express my gratitude that my father ended up under Dr Niemandts care. We couldnt have asked for a better Doctor or team - the ladies in his office are great! Every interaction with the staff at the Pretoria Eye Institute has been very friendly and it certainly helps to sooth the nerves when going in for eye injections. A highly recommended Institute and a great Doctor makes the world of difference.

Its an good place to check your eyes but expensive

My mom has been through hell with doctor liesel vd merwe. She was bullied into the operation in my humble opinion. And no warnings were provided about the side effects of the lazer operation. She now has headaches....heavy eyes....astigmatism...blurred vision...bubbles....red eyes....which she was not told beforehand could occur. This doctors bedside manner is also not good. As a daughter I wish I encouraged my mom to go to another doctor from the start. Hearing from other people and reading up in medical journals...this operation was a flop. Of course doctor wont admit it. Is the pros really worth the cons? My mom is trying hard to be positive. Breaks my heart. I really feel these cataract surgeries here are done hastily.....with little info given to the patient......and with no compassion. People are treated like robots and its about the money honey. We will forgive the doctor and pray for healing for the side effects as we do not want to go through the trauma of lawyers etc. And it wont fix her eyes anyway. Go to another doctor and ask a lot of questions and get plenty of reviews people. My mom is sweet and nice etc however I feel truth needs to be told of our experience.

I had Cross-linking done on both of my eyes this year (first one at the end of January and the second at the beginning of March).The staff are friendly and professional. They explain everything and make sure you are comfortable, and they help ease any nerves.My doctor was Dr Odendaal, very happy with the service I received from him. And the ladies that work with him are also fantastic. Always extremely helpful, whenever I phoned with questions or worries, they were always able to answer me, and if they themselves were not sure, they went to find out by the doctor and got back to me.Really happy and impressed with this place.

LASIK from first consult to post op.Would like to share my experience of the entire process with Dr Mark Minnaar.My doctor was Dr Minnaar, first consultation was very informative, nothing was rushed off, I felt he genuinely cared about my well being and quality of sight, Dr took his time to explain everything to me. This was such a breath of fresh air because I know healthcare professionals to be quite robotic in their care, despite the years experience Dr Minnaar has had he still managed to come across as genuine, kind and confident in the what he does. I felt I was in safe hands!Seems that Dr Minnaar’s politeness and way of working with people ripples through his staff because they were just as caring and polite as he is.Surgery day: I was quite nervous (obviously), staff held me guided me to theatre. I was communicated with during the entire procedure which definitely helped to ease the nerves.Doctor was calm, steady and took his time to make sure everything was perfect.Pre-op my prescription was -4.25 in both eyes and now it is +0.25 in both eyes, on the chart my vision was testing better than 20/20. WOW! Can that really be MY eyes?Really happy with the outcome and worth every penny saved!Thank you Dr Minnaar and your wonderful staff. You have given me back the gift of sight.Another day in the office for you but a life time of beautiful new memories for me.

It took them 3 hours to attend to me

Easy to find as just off the main road. Very friendly staff and helpful. Appointment was at Art Eyes. Practice is well set up and practitioner is knowledgeable and punctual. Would highly recommend

The waiting time is unbelievable. Told us we HAVE to be here at 7:30am. @ 8:30 I asked where he was and his receptionist said hes not even in yet! Watched him stroll in. Went in at 8:45 and out in 15min. No apologies. Dr Petrus Gous may be good at what he does but the typical God Complex of a specialist he has and blatent disregard for anyones time other than his own is the reason we wont reccoment him.

Arrogant security gaurds and parking attendants. They say the first 30min are free parking but if you check out 5min before the experation time you still have to pay regardless if you go out before the time elappsed. I wont be taking people there again!

THERE IS A LADY BY THE NAME OF LARISSA WHO IS BY FAR THEE MOST RUDE HUMAN I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH REGARDING MY ACCOUNT WHICH WAS OVER BILLED ALL BECAUSE SHE FAILED TO TAKE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE OPTOMETRIST. SHE EVEN GOES AS FAR AS ARGUING WITH CLIENTS AND BELITTLING THEM AND NOT LISTENING AT ALL. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HOW UNPROFESSIONAL THIS WOMAN IS AND HER LACK OF COMPREHENSION OF HOW SHE MADE A MISTAKE AND NOW THE CLIENT MUST BE RESPOSIBLE OF CHASING HER TO PAYBACK HER MEDICAL AID FUNDS. LARISSA YOU NEED HELP ON HOW YOU SHOULD DEAL WITH CLIENTS AND LEARN SOME MANNERS PLEASE.
