What is the point of pre-booking with specified date and time and checking-in online only to get to the branch and have them not have the car?! If online system does not correspond with branch systems etc, let us know so we book via phone. Mary and Jeroma did a great job at managing the situation but the booking system has to change. I was forced to wait/go fetch a car from Lanseria. This affected my day. Time is money.

Booking was very easy although everything was done through the insurance company. Staff was very friendly.

Get advised 30 March about a fine incurred on 2 Jan. Then without advising me they try to deduct admin fee of R 197 for a fine of R 600. No Jpeg of the pic and actual fine supplied. Can only apply for 50% discount within 32 days and defend in 64 days. Cant view fine to confirm its mine.No service never mind bad service.
I was supposed to drop the car at 10h30,arrived at Hatfield europcar at 9h40,there was no one at the offce,the security told us that they went out,they will be back in 5 minutes,i waited until 10h25, i called customer care,then been transferred to Tshepo,he told me where i must leave the key

Like the many complaints on Hellopeter, I am being billed for scratches where there is no proof that I caused them. The scratches are under the front bumper and it cannot be proven that they were there or not before the car was driven to my house. Whats worse is that they qoute R3337 for that, adding things like claim admin fee and assessment fee! What a way to rip us off. I will not pay this and am prepared to take this to court. Will advise my insurance to get a different service provider for me because I will NOT accept Europcar againHAPPY TO REPORT THAT EUROPCAR RESOLVED THIS MATTER AND I WAS REFUNDED MY WHOLE DEPOSIT EVENTUALLY.

Tempest Car Hire the division from Europcar I treat their cars as mine because they always treat me with CAR~E. It been 3 to 4 years using this company and I really CANT complain. Only take a car when I need it. I dont feel that I dont own a car of my own FULL-TIME. There companies which will give you value for money this is one of them.

On Saturday 23 January we went to pick up a vehicle pre-arranged by the insurance company at Wonderboom Airport. The arrangement with your branch was to pickup the car between 10:00 and 11:00. While driving to the airport (10:25) we received a call from this branch but the connection was so bad that we could not communicate with each other. They phoned a second time from another number but the result was the same. We phoned back both numbers, without success. When we arrived at the branch at 10:35, the door was locked. The person at security gate assured us that the people will be back in a few minutes. After about 30 minutes we phoned the customer services at Europcar who also assured us that the people were on their way back. After a further 30 minutes we phoned Europcar Hatfield for assistance. He gave me a number to phone but it remained unanswered. The employees arrived at last just before 12:00 with the explanation that they had to make a delivery. When returning the car to your Hatfield branch, the delivery check was done quickly and efficiently with no faults reported. After about an hour, the Hatfield branch contacted us reporting a slow puncture on 2 of the vehicles tyres. We could not argue with them as we were no longer on their premises and did not know when this happened. We therefore had to agree that they could claim for the repair of tihe tyres. I would therefore personally never use Europcar again and definitely not recommend them to anybody.

Pretty bad service to say the least. Last time they charged me for 2 days extra because the guy didnt check it in properly, today car is 20 min late because it wasnt ready. They dont offer an apology, just heres your car. Methinks its time to change.

The 20/07/20 I went to fetch a car from Europcar Hatfield I am so disappointed with this branch customer service, the lady called Tshego is very rude and unhelpful, the way she treated me I will not wish that bad treatment to my enemies, she didnt eve greet me, but when my phone rang she wanted me to not answer it, the respect is earned she must know that, furthermore she didnt even bother to explain T&Cs but she wanted me to sign without me going through to what I am signing, and telling how slow I am and wasting her time, the worse part was when she did not explain what kind of a car I am getting so I also didnt ask as on the phone I was told I had to choose between Suzuki Swift, Hyundai I10 or Kia Picanto, but to my surprise they gave me Suzuki Celerio, when I get outside to do inspection the employee helping me to do that was only focused outside now I have been parking the car without locking the doors manually as I wasnt aware the car does not have central lock the whole week the car was only locked my drivers side. only 1 speaker on the drivers side work the rest arent working was I told about these things big NO, I am not happy about this car and its so frustrating having to learn whats what everyday about it its so not on. Your customer service at this branch is very bad I dont even know how to explain it but that was the trashy service I have never experienced previously with Europcar other branches, This lady her attitude is very appalling and she needs to be stopped. I am so annoyed by the service I got from her and the inspection employee.
First they dont introduce them selfs, nametags are worn inside out. When you have a question its like its soooo much effort to explain or give a answer. No instruction on the return or how , when and refuelling. The car it self very nice, clean and easy to use.
Overcharged for refueling. I filled the car before I returned it with 7.84 liters (first auto-stop), this agency then claimed to put in another 12 liters! I drove a total of 31km, and according to Europcar I used about 20 liters of petrol, crazy. PS. The fine print says they will always refuel regardless of petrol gauge, so that is R40 + fuel used + extra fuel they steal

They were quick to assist with providing the car but make sure you dont forget anything(personal belongings) in the car when you return it, as you will never get it back. i forgot my R900 headset in the car the following day when i went back they told me they cant find it.

All 4 tyres were different pressures. 1.8, 2.3 & 3.0.Also different Tyre treads.Everything was reported to Martin at Europcar Hatfield. Martin was attentive & helpful

We rented two cars for an amount of 160 euros online. This price really paid was 410euros!!! Its robbery, nothing more, nothing less. Moreover people were very slow and unpolite. As french people we wanted to rent our car to an european company. First time and last time. In Pretoria at least : Avis is cheaper and they are more professional.
Excellent service, very helpful staff and manager. Very clear terms and conditions, and take the time to explain what costs are involved in taking the car to neighbouring countries (e.g. Botswana), and also dont pressure or harass you into extras you dont need or want. I will certainly hire with them again.

Nice rental car, but they charged us three times more than initially quoted. We only got a partial refund after complaining. This is simply maffiosi style money making. We sticked to what we agreed upon, but they came up with a lot of extra costs for things that we didnt ask for. Since they have your credit card number, they simply take the money. You really need to complain before you get (partially) refunded. In the end we paid twice as much. very painful and what a hassle!

I hired a car on the 20th of December in Hatfield and return to OR Tambo international airport on the 23rd .Upon collection we got poor service due to the reason that it was a voucher that didnt reflect the booking amount, they took forever to assist me.According to the contract i signed i was meant to receive my refund 3 to 4 days after i returned the vehicle.Upon returning the car at hartfied the security said they cannot take the keys cause the responsibility remain with me if they steal the tires and other accessories on the car.I was forced to take the car to OR Tambo international airport for my security reasons. Thats additional fuel and kilos.Only when I got to OR, only found out the car was unlimited kilos. Hartfied branch never mentioned to me. The said it was strictly 200km a day.On the 26th I called hartfied branch to do a follow up. I spoke to Dudu trying to find out how far is the process, she said to me the process takes 5 to 10 day, when I tried explain the contract i signed she was soo rude to me and impatient with me telling these nothing she can help me with I can call the call center.On the 30th I decided to called OR Tambo international airport and spoke to Ouma indicating the car was not billed or invoiced.Four days has passed and i have not received anything and no one seems to be able to assist. I am really disappointed with Europcar and will never recommend it to anyone.
