Recently had to deal with this branch twice in the spam of a month due to unforeseen circumstances where my car was written off.On both occasions I received my rental vehicle in such a filthy state that I doubt it even meets the covid-19 hygiene standards.Returned my vehicle last week and shortly after tried to contact the branch because I left my prescription glasses in the car - I am yet waiting on feedback, not only do they not answer the phone they dont answer emails as well. My account was debited by Avis for some reason, they did not even send me an invoice to justify this amount.I have always trusted Avis and supported them but from now on I will doing by car rental needs from another company. I am surprised you survived the pandemic with this pathetic service.

Bad service . Dont answer phone and bad reaction to emails. Im referring to Avis in Pretoria and Menlyn branch . Stay away

Terrible service in regards they do not pick up their telephones... While I was there (all so trying to get hold of them before hand on the phone... holding for more than 40 minutes) resolving a query regarding my e-tag, you hear the phone ringing... and ringing... and no one answers it... why then have a phone?

The new requirement of an additional deposit is such an inconvenience considering the fact that at the point of booking the vehicle one is not told, only to be shocked when you collect the car. Please show all T&Cs upfront and not hide any.

Very simple to use and everything explained clearly

Ive followed the online booking process and arranged a collection time. At 11am I arrive for collection, just to find a queue of people and a single person handling every client. Drop-off, collect and walk in clients all in one queue.I waited a full 30 minutes, standing outside, until I gave up and left. The line had about 6 people ahead of me and in that space of time only one person got their rental car.I wasnt the only one confused, as someone next to me had also pre-booked and paid but was also instructed to stand in that same queue.To make matters worse, after I had arrived, a group of about 4 people strolled in, contemplated joining the queue, said something the the security guard, and were promptly allowed to the counter for processing. Now, Im obviously not sure of their situation, but it all seemed unfair. What had they arranged that we hadnt? I sincerely hope it wasnt what it looked like.Two main issues: 1. What is the point of prebooking if the process is over an hour long in total to get a car. 2. Why are you not rewarding clients who prearrange, pay and show up. An express line or at minimal chairs to sit while queueing would go a long way.I have had to leave without an actual vehicle and wasted my time. Im not impressed.

Service is incredibly slow? The staff could work in a more gelled and flowing manner so that waits are not so long.

The perfection on our 1st encounter was the very best . The receptionist was the ultimate and friendly to help us and offered the extra time to help us. We are very Happy

They overcharged a R7000 holding deposit that was supposed to be R650.When we went to the branch to try and clear up the matter, they told us that it is our responsibility to pull bank statements. Very unwilling to help.Not the first time weve had issues with them..

What a pleasant experience. I had the rental car delivered to my address.The staff was friendly, the details and service as clear and properly explained to me.The return of the vehicle was even smoother. I filled it up. Had it cleaned and tool it back to Avis.They had a walk around and check that everything was in order and thanked me for returning the car clean and full.The staff and service levels as superb. They are willing to serve and do their utmost best to keep the client happy.

Be careful before picking up a car... there is some dishonesty with the inspection and they will charge you for damages and the worst part they do not send any invoice for charges. I was a victim dont be next.

In convenient and easy to access position

Terrible service. We rented a vehicle from the branch and returned it in early December and today to have not yet received the final invoicing. Cannot reach them via phone and call centre refers you back to branch

We dropped of a car. Were not greeted. The lady doing the inspection rudely informed us the car had a scratch. We did not receive any document from the Nelspruit branch. She continued without a further word. There is no place in the waiting area to sit en wait as staff make use of the provided seating. We stood outside waiting for our transport to collect us.

Getting the car was hassle-free and service was friendly but after 9 weeks my refund has not been processed yet, I sent my first reminder email after 4 weeks and that when I was told the refund will be sent to the bank and it will be done in 2 days. 5 weeks later still no refund and emails not being responded to.

Unfriendly, unhelpful, had an issue where they found damage on vehicle and because rental wax a one way they did not have damage report from prev renter so wanted to charge me for damage and complete an accident report. I had to call airport from my own phone and speak to someone there as they were incapable of doing it for me...Pathetic service

Customer service is great, the car I used was in a good condition.Staff members were friendly and efficient.The only issue is with the waiting area, its small with just one couch. The water cooler was empty .

Just be careful with your credit card. With no reason and explanation, these guys keep on charging my credit card. No invoice available even 3 weeks after closing the contract....

Avis-Budget normally offers a slick service. Today must have been an off day. The car looked like it had been used as a moms taxi for a few years before they gave it to me. 🤨

The worst ever. They invoice you and take the money from your account immediately. Only to put the same ammount through your account AGAIN at the end of your rental period. Be carefull of using your credit card with this company.!!!

Poor customer service.More than two weeks after returning a car you are still trying to get information about how much you will be refunded etc, and no one keeps you updated on anything. If I were kept updated I would be more understanding, but I was made to feel like an inconvenience when requesting feedback. Wont rent from them again.
