Got the book I wanted service was on par

Its a well run acedemic book store, but it is terribly busy when students need to get textbooks. They should consider finding a logistical solution.

I have a bursary account at Van Schaik. I buy my prescribed university textbooks on this account. When I went in to get my textbooks, the staff member would merely tell me that the books are out of stock. I had to actually ask the staff member if she could order and/or transfer the books from another branch. She had this Escom mentality where they provide a product but try to not sell it to you. I had to follow this same process for three books in a row, i.e. ask for the book, hear it is out of stock, and beg for a transfer/order. After about an hour I finally had all my books ordered, and was promised to get it a week later.After more than a week have passed, I still have not heard anything from Van Schaik, and after calling more than 15 times over a period of 8 hours, still did not get any answer on the phone.NB!!! I would strongly recommend going to Protea Book Store instead. They are just across the street, they have a wide variety of books, friendly and efficient service, and are reasonably priced (in most cases cheaper than Van Schaik).
