It is a great place to relax with the surroundings. I would suggest that the outside roof erected, is not at all rainproof and when it rains on the outside seated area, you get wet. I would highly recommend a better roof over that area.

Absolutely amazing place. They have a very wide range of Beers, Gin, Whiskeys, Shots, Cocktails and many more. Staff are also very helpful and friendly. Their food looked and smelled amazing but didnt eat so cant comment on the taste. Very affordable so will definitely visit again.

Ive had coffee here once or twice. Oh man, what a view!The road on the way, green and surrounded by trees. The deep blue of the dam and the warm orange of a sunset or bright yellow from sunrise.One day I want to have a few drinks there and watch the sun set.

I don’t come to Potch often to be honest, but damn when you do..... The alcohol selection is, in a word, extensive, and in the good way! This place will tickle any fancy, and you have got to be on the deck. The view of the dam and overall area amazing.Did I mention the good service and pretty awesome food as well??

The drinks is really good - can be on the expensive side , but worth it .Make sure to dress warm , as it does get COLD next to the river and there are not always enough blankets available.Staff is friendly and service was good

Not the type of restaurant that you go to for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu has three full pages of alcoholic beverages, but only offers basic salads, pizzas, wraps (without lettuce or tomato) and rissoles. The food was mediocre at best. The coffee was worse than a garages’ coffee. The music is peculiar because it is not relaxing, but rather bothersome and extremely loud.I was especially disappointed to see that the bar tender did not wear his mask while making drinks.However, if you intend to go for drinks then this is the perfect restaurant. They have a comical amount of alcoholic beverages available and the view is pretty.

This Cafe is popular amongst students. The menu includes anything from Salads, Tapas, Pizzas, Rissoles, Burgers and Light meals.Wine by the glass on most of the wines on the menu as well as a comprehensive Gin menu.I can highly recommend this Cafe for a lazy afternoon with Wine and a Cheese platter or for a less complicated Belgium Beer and Pizza

Food not nice at all. No milkshakes, no toasted sandwiches. In my opinion, their main focus is booze. Nice scenery next to the dam. We will never visit again.

De Poes pilsener on tap fantasies.Nompolelo was humerous and a great waitress.As non Potcherivers we hope to visit tomorrow and the next day. Skip one and back on mike tyson day.Then whenever we can visit the Stroom again we will visit the River.Worth the visit. Very reasonable i might add!Even saw firefliesKeep up the good work!

At our table we got a spicy chicken pizza, chicken salad and lamb burger. All very good, but the burger was a bit over done. Not badly priced either.

Amazing views and atmosphere.Great place to go with friends for a cocktail and a meal also nice with friends and family just to eat and chat while you watch the birds flying over the Potchefstroom dam. Some night there is also live music on the piano. Definitely worth a visit when in the Potchefstroom area.

If you are looking to catch up with some friends, relax after a long day from work or just looking for something cold to drink and delicious food (Especially the pizzas) I would highly recommend this place. A ton of different drinks and shooters on the menu to try and funky foods to try. Friendliness and checking if a table if okay by staff can improve.

Great cocktails & views, but the starters and the service was found lacking somewhat. Definitely the place to go for a sundowner, though.

The food is the best guys. The service is also great we loved it me and my partner. The view is so chilled however the bush on the out door needs to be taken care of guys. Overall satisfaction 100%🙂

The view the view. . . . Also its an indie bar/restaurant so its just different. They have an excellent beer selection, an astounding wine cellar(especially up North) and good food. The prices are good for what you get. Dont forget the cocktails either which personally arent always my thing but they do mix a splendid Caiparinha (double check spelling). For something different non-discriminatory and just beautiful make sure to stop by....

First time visit after the rebuild.Lost a bit of the bohemian, rustic vibe it originally had.A bit pricey, the snacks were okay. Pizzas looked good.Very poor service.

I cant complain about the service because there is NO SERVICE to complain about. We sat more than 30 minutes with no one taking our order. We asked for someone to come and take our order but he just chatted at the bar. This place will never see me or my friends again! When we walked out they treated us with so much disrespect and rolled their eyes at us. Rediculous!

Stood at the door for 5 minutes and nobody reveived us. Decided to just go sit at a table and still no waiter after 10 minutes. Waiter walked past us several times but just ignored us. Got up and left without ordering anything. Very disappointing.

Awesome atmosphere and an absolutely breathtaking view of Potchefstroom Dam. The menu has a very good variety of meals at prices that are acceptable. What makes River Café so enjoyable is the fact that there are such fantastic specials, such as the end of range beers.5/5, would recommend to any of my acquaintances that enjoy quality foods.

Splendid, as far as the location, concept and execution.The views are magnificent, best place to catch the Potch Sunset ... the Gin selection is exquisite and the most extensive Ive seen to date.Sadly, the stock management isnt on par... they had no Herbs available, despite their menu boasting Anise, Thyme, Rosemary, Cardamom... no Yuzu tonic either.And the food menu is a nightmare for anybody with Gluten intolerances, everything is crumbed and coated in flour, or has actual bread.

Well situated restaurant with a variety of specialties. The restaurant is next to the Potchefstroom Dam and has a clear view over the water. The food is of average price but really good. The pizza is a go to dish along one their ciders.

Truly amazing ambiance! The service was terrific, the pizzas are AMAZING (tru the mushroom pizza), their wide selection of cocktails are divine. Wouldnt change a single thing. :)

Food cold. Chicken burger not cooked well. Service bad take 1 hour 30 min till your food is ready.

The service was really slow and most of the time they never have the full range of beers in stock. O used to love their pizzas but now theyre very doughy and chewy. Overall the place has lost its magic touch. It still has a beautiful view but its not what it used to be.

My favorite place in the whole world. Some moments are priceless but this place is priceless. When all is faded and Ive lost hope its the only place that keeps me alive. Dahm I need shares there by now.

One of the best settings in Potchefstroom, next to the dam with beautiful uninterrupted views. Great place to unwind and enjoy. Food is good. Lots of craft beer options when available. Lots of drinks options. Too much smoking allowed anywhere, not family friendly.

Close to Potch dam, views of the water and stars lining up it on clear skies. Wonderful food, although more vegetarian dishes would be appreciated. Great service all around.
