REMAX - DISHONEST, DONT let your property out with these cowboys!!!!I was letting out my house through Ideal Homes, ReMax somehow took over the port folio and sent me a contract to sign. Due to a conflict of interest with the person in charge of the rentals, I refused to sign up with them.The Port Shepstone bunch are rude and arrogant. I wrote to the Franchisee of ReMax Hibberdene and Port Shepstone, a Pat Symcox, who thinks he is above replying to his clients. Despite no contract signed, I tried to compromise, stating in an email that I did not want my property managed by Port Shepstone branch however would consider Hibberdene handling my rental property.In their arrogance, they decided not to reply to me but insist on harassing my Tenant for MY money, and furthermore sent me a lawyers letter.I sent the same question back to their lawyer who stated that they would come back to me and have since been ignored.REMAX is still in possession of my tenants deposit and I must only presume since they refuse to reply to me that they intend to pocket this.I have send them numerous emails requesting my Tenants deposit to be returned , however they are ignoring me.Remax is still asking my tenant (behind my back ) for money which I should imagine they intend to pocket as well.South Coast you have been warned. Property Owners and Tenants BEWARE.

I wouldnt buy a house from this estate agency. There was a clear conflict of interest situation when I bought my house from them (one of their outgoing estate agents was selling her home, and got the other estate agent to sell it without full disclosure to me).The seller (Remax agent) had tried to hide a great deal of massive defects (subsidence, broken roof, asbestos, non-compliant electrics) with the help of the agent (also a Remax agent). I discovered that the house has passed its electrical compliance, with non-compliant electrics (a favour from a business partnership?). Something that slipped right past the conveyancer I used (also suggested by Remax). I was given the highest yielding insurance policy (suggested by Remax in my absence) and even the mortgage broker (also partnered with Remax) pushed through this sub prime mortgage despite me backpedalling.When I tried to pull out of the sale, the estate agent (Remax) threatened me with legal action, and bullied me into the sale. Chasing the seller (Remax employee) for breach of contract (not carrying out the repairs stated in the contract, and resultant damage) was a waste of money, because she had blown the proceeds of the sale by this stage.I took my case to the Estate Agency Affairs Board, but both Remax estate agents had left this branch by this stage. I couldnt even get my commission back (R35,000) just a very hollow apology from the proprietor of this estate agency. He drove around to offer me an apology in his fancy car saying: Ag sorry man, this agent has just moved on to another (and yet another) agency. I reminded him that he had personally received R17,500 of my money from the transaction, since his agent was on a 50/50 split. But he was not that sorry.If I had have read a Google review on this estate agency back when I purchased from this branch, I wouldnt have touched this place. Where honesty is such a subjective concept.
