We were there just this past weekend with our hiking club.On the second night, three of our members had criminals enter into their tents and three cellphones were stolen while the members were sleeping.Reporting this to management was a clear waste of time as the owner was only concerned with evading responsibility after her manager clearly lied to her about what he informed us regarding petty theft in the area.On the 3rd night these criminals attempted to steal our items while we were still seated around the fire and were comfortable enough to even come back three more times during the same evening.Do not, I repeat do not take up accommodation here unless you wish to part ways with your valuables or worse still, get hurt because when that happens, you will not get any assistance from those responsible at this establishment.

I personally, including our hiking club members had terrible weekend over there... The place doesnt have full time guards like backpackers weve been to before and as the result we got mugged from our tents and attempts were made for the ones in the cabins. Lot of cellphones were stolen from us and the Stop Backpackers staff didnt even bother to tell us about such incidents when the booking was made and when we got there. The owner of the place didnt even care about what happened but she just wanted us to do lots of activities that would have dried our pockets... For people like us who like backpacking Id never give such a place a greenlight as they dont have proper space for tents, no proper cctvs, inadequate lighting and no outside plugs for campers.The manager of the place would take his time before he reacts especially when beamers detected dodgy movements before he turn the alarms off but The Lazer Response Team kept on showing up and that calmed us a bit. He(manager) had terrible attitude and kept defending himself even if he is wrong, he further went on delegate his girlfriend to perform certain tasks and that was extremely wrong. To top the things up we were even offered terrible breakfast on Friday the 18th... So if you are a hikers and you value your money as well as your safety that much you wouldnt set your feet there, otherwise one would become a victim.

Beautiful ocean view, with easy access to the beach. Super friendly and helpful staff that make the whole experience even better. Will definitely be back again.

Awesome vibe. Staff amazing, very friendly. Alcohol is cheap. Unfortunately we didnt stay over night but my girlfriend and I definitely plan to. Accommodation looks amazing. So awesome and close to the beach.

Spot Backpackers is a great place to chill out.

A rustic dwelling at the foot of the waters edge. 2 dorm rooms for bigger groups (adjoining which is convenient if 2 groups are together), a little wooden standalone cottage (for a romantic and private stay), and 2 rooms that are part of the main communal structure (one double room and one with 4 single beds - great for a family). Licensed bar and a beautiful garden that is kitten up in the evenings with a bonfire. Lovely for kids and for a beach stay on the South Coast. Also great to book out for a celebration if there is a large group.

This is hands down the most relaxed and least concerned easiest and most enjoyable hostel I have ever stayed at. Free use of surfboards, body boards, paddle boards gives this wonderful place a huge bonus. The fire pit is available to any one and as long as you understand how to respect others in this social environment I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay right on the beach, relax, and enjoy a good time. Great place to stay and enjoy the beach and sun.

Way too relaxing on a sunny afternoon or a summers starry night. Loved the tranquility and the laid-back feel of the place. Sea views and bar, just casual relaxing ambience.

When you want to be out and about without people to rate and judge you.. and u can bring your own nyama and friends...drinks are available.

Absolutely by far my favourite place !

Very casual, rustic feel. For both locals and overseas clients. Location is perfect as you right on the beach and if you enjoy a game of pool like me then you can enjoy one here too at night theres always a bonfire burning theres nothing better than an ice cold beer around a fire.

Beautiful place so clean.We spend 3 days with my husband had a great time. The stuff was helpful. The whole place is amazing. The stuff is friendly and helpful.

Perfect location, the staff was very very nice (most of them), and the sound of the waves in the morning is just perfect. Also the people hanging around the hostel bring a certain vibe to it. Would definitely recommend

Love this place! Owners are very nice, always trying to make you feel at home. Drinks are cheap :) :) Right at the beach, free kayaks. We had a perfect time.

Friendly staff and the accomodation is decent especially considering the price. Just bear in mind that it is a hostel/backpackers and as such you are sharing a room with 5 other people. We were told of a couple that arrived the night prior to us who didnt even check in as they thought it was single rooms. Lol

Beautiful location and reasonable prices. There is a licensed bar, and a fully equipped kitchen and outside braai area. Private access to the beach below, and you can borrow a canoe to paddle up the river. Unfortunately, the room we were in had a problem with the electrics, so there were no lights and no ceiling fan, which made for a pretty rough nights sleep.

Criminals operate in the area and we didnt any form of warning about it. We had to find out the hard way when our car window and bags stolen with all of our essentials.
