Visit for a bday party very nice place child friendly the only problem I had there they dont do split bills... Imagine 8couples try to divide a bill after the bar specials total chaos... Definitely deserves 5stsrs bt its 2021 we cant struggle with calculations after a nice party

We ordered pizza and onion ringsThe avo feta and bacon was good but the meaty pizza had far too much tomato and far to much spice that one couldnt even taste the meat... spoke to the waiter and all he said was Ill tell the chef nothing further....Onion rings on the other hand mmm delicious

Disappointed in the degradation of this once great hangout to a 1 star (wish I could give a zero). Waiting times have increased to over 40 minutes for a beer and waiters forgetting simple orders like a Margarita. I had a chat with 6 patrons whom all will never visit again. I used to drive from Malmesbury to visist Slug. Never ever again. *ps, who serves hot tequila like this?

I am extremely upset.Even though they’re very expensive we decided to visit this bar to support friends!We were told to leave by the manager because the owner told the manager that we are not welcome there because we know somebody there. (At the end)I went and Asked the owner what is the problem because we were finished and ready to pay when we were told we had to go and sit at another table. She said that family and friends are actually not welcome there! She was very rude as-well as the male ownerI went to apologize after the manager explained the story even though I was not happy with how they handled us as Clients. I am a client regardless if I am family or not, I supported their business and they should be thankful for that. I have lived in paarl for over 20 years and no place I have been to has ever done this!If they cared about their clients they would have handled the situation differently!I appreciate their staff for their excellent service. Other than that I will never go there again!

Traveling around SA as always during the summer holidays, this place was a decent restaurant to go to as we were passing through Paarl. All the Waiters were helpful, smiled as you walked in, smiled during service and smiled as you left.Food is decently priced and tastes very nice!!Recommended place for sure

This is a great place for a Friday-after-work-beer and for eating out with the wife. Good friendly service comes standard from barmen and waitresses.They also serve good food, tasty, well prepared and big enough portions.I would go there again!

Be prepared to wait for your food if a tour group arrives. Apparently they enjoy preference over regulars. And dont expect an apology from the usually courteous owner. Otherwise very good.

Good for a cold draft beer and chat with friends. Food still inconsistent, trichado one day will be a descent cube meat dish and the next bacon slice size meat in what tastes like royco cup a soup. Burger is a carpetbagger, buns with a carpet like patty. New management though will bring new life.

Shocking service recieved tonight. We were the only table there, 2 steak orders completly wrong, chips swimming in basting sauce, no onion rings, sliced up tomatos instead of onion rings, certain beers not available, certain sauces not available, and bad attitude from the manager. Drove all the way from Wellington to recieve this service. Never again

Pizza was bad. I didnt expect a base that felt it was thawed from frozen 5min ago. I cant comment on the other menu items, but I feel they need to reduce the number of menu items and focus on making a few things great.

I have always had a good time, food is great, but make sure to call ahead if you want to visit.

They where either under staffed or just have bad management. The waiters where all scattered around, no structure. There was no entertainment for the kids(kids tv area did not even have a easy thing like movies playing) as their main focus was on keeping the men happy.

Located in Paarls main road, this place doesnt have ample parking available. I wouldnt recommend going there for lunch as you struggle to find parking. Play area available for the kids, outside area (semi shaded) and trees that surround you, are a few things that would attract people to the Slug and Lettuce but it gets balanced out by bad service no aircon or any provision for when the temperature gets up to 44C. Not bad but not great either.
