Its such a (maybe not so hidden) gem, a great place to get away for a light lunch or tea or coffee. Beautifully nestled under huge oak trees and surrounded by a beautiful garden of hydrangeas, it is such a peaceful beautiful place and definitely worth the visit.

What a pity, Not reopening in 2019.Just love this tea garden. Under the trees or on the stoep, you will be sure not to miss out on the very well kept garden. Ideal for birthdays, kitchen teas or just a relaxing day out. The owners and their staff ensure that all boxes are ticked and you can arrive in style and not even brake a nail. The Carrot cake is to die for, but also give the Russian Honey cakes a try. They have a few set menus to choose from and you can even order full cakes for a celebration at home.Not reopening in 2019

This is a lovely venue to have tea and cake or a light lunch. The house and gardens are absolutely beautiful and the eats are served either on the veranda or under the trees. Each table outside had a lovely old teapot with flowers arranged in it. There are also homemade preserves, olives and a few fresh veggies on sale. Unfortunately we waited a long time for just a chicken mayo sandwich and tuna mayo wrap, which was very tasty when it eventually arrived but it was disappointing that it was not presented nicely either! If it were not for these 2 points, I would score this a 5 star venue. Not open on weekends, apparently.

I have been to Tea under the Trees about 5-6 times and have enjoyed it every time and was always made to feel special. However, on Wednesday I went with 6 friends and was sorely disappointed with the service and the quality of the salad I had. There was a kitchen tea party of about 30 Girls next to us, so perhaps it was too much for the staff to manage. Not too sure if I’ll go back with a crowd of people again. Sorry.

Somethings on order was not supplied, but billed. I have experienced better service at other places. Venue is beautiful though and very much child friendly!

Being in te food/hospitality and catering industry myself I know what is acceptable and not when to complain or not and when to be understandable and when not... Ive had to getup and go to the waiters everytime... firstly to order our drinks... then to ask if they would mind to come and take our food order... then again to ask for the bill... the service were terrible and UNACCEPTABLE... waiters would walk past us to go to the little bunny in the cage not checking in with us once... and it wasnta case of us just running in and out for lunch or that we were just impatient ... we were there from 13h to 16h...The lunch was good though... but service is key in this business... it doesnt matter how great your food are... if customers do not receive good service they will not return.
