Top class Roosterkoek. Definitely worth adding to your roosterkoek road trip of the Garden Route. The bread is made fresh on the braai and the portion sizes are huge! Would highly recommend the cheese, bacon and jam roosterkoek to anyone who has never tried them before. The prices are also really good for how much food you get. I would definitely stop here again.

Freshly baked roosterkoek straight off the fire with a wide selection of fillings of your choice? Worth a stop everytime. Rolandale is a farmstall just off the N2 with a selection of local jams, pickled foods, and gifts and trinkets, but the real star of the show are the roosterkoek. These are rolls of dough that get cooked on an open fire and go extremely well with jam and cheese and bacon. The prices were ridiculously cheap for very filling meals - I could barely finish my roosterkoek, but I still bought another two for the road. Their red cappuccinos are great as well and you can ask for some honey to go with it. Theres an outdoor play area for the kids and indoor and outdoor seating.

Best Roosterkoek in the area by far. Lots of space outside to sit and take in the relaxing farm scenery while you having a pit stop, be it from a road trip or in life. Very kid friendly, sandbox and jungle gym. Plus loads of open space to run and play so remember to bring a ball. There is even a little dog park if that is a requirement

Nice venue and overall pleasant vibe with a large open space for kids and dogs to play. The food was incredible, so much so that we ordered takeaways after our initial meal. There was but only one negative being that the staff seemed worn and very overworked. It was extremely busy with people stopping from all over during the long weekend. We had only one waitress to handle the entire outside seating thus she became overwhelmed quickly and service slowed down. The entire staff lacked any sense of willingness and joy. I mainly blame this on management due to the lack of staff in accordance to how busy they were over the long weekend.

Picture perfection, then add some delicious food. This place hosts a restaurant and a little shop in a beautiful cabin house.Everywhere you go you can tell the place is kept in detail. The garden is perfectly maintained, there is a little play area and wherever you look there is nature with a beautiful crisp view of the mountains. At the door we were greeted with the inviting smell of a braai area where they handmake their roosterbrood. Once inside we were politely greeted and given a menu.Their eye for detail comes back in their food, their shop and dare I say even their bathroom.I ordered the egg and bacon sandwich, and there was thought in everything on the plate. The sandwich was still open leaving me free to modify it, it came with a solid portion of chips and some lettuce, arranged with a slice of tomato and a ring of onion.Im yet to see a place with a touch like this, and Id recommend anyone in the area to at least come and take a look.

Oh we stopped for biltong on our way to Mosselbay driving on the N2 and stumbled upon this lovely roadside restaurant. So well kept! So friendly! So interesting! Beautifully situated with mountain and grassland views. Looks like it may form part of the Marloth Reserve according to my Google Maps. You can walk around, sit around, watch birds, let the kids play in the dolls-house or in the play area under the enormous figtree, order something to eat inside the restaurant or take-away. Great cake selection, roosterkoek made in front of your eyes on an open fire, good coffee and then fo try a koeksister - it is the epiphany of South African gasvryheid!
