The beaches are just as amazing as the ATKV camp grounds right next to the beach

In the area there are numerous beaches to choose from, each offering something a little different. Some are smaller, quieter, or perhaps closer (often walking distance) to where you are staying, but the Hartenbos main beach is great. It is expansive, clean, beautiful and great for swimming. Its also right by the Hartenbos Seafront with lots of shops and restaurants, if you want to grab something to eat or have an errand to run before heading home. The further you move away from the main beach the quieter it gets, if you want more privacy, however the only bathrooms I could see were at the Seafront itself so it might be a good idea not to stray too far away. Parking (outside of high-season) is not an issue as there are numerous areas where you can park your car and walk down to the beach. But in high season I recommend you get there early as the spots can quickly fill up, and if the weather is great people often spend the whole day there. This is definitely one of my favorite beaches and I look forward to a swim there again in the near future.

Beautiful and clean, perfect with Bonzos right there

A Blue Flag beach situated along the famous Garden Route between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, some 8km from Mossel Bay and 40km from George Airport.Loads of activities and recreational facilities, restaurants, fast food sections and convenient store on site.This area also locates the ATKV Hartenbos, boasting conference facilities and accommodation.

For anybody, or family, who has traveled far and wide, for a beach holiday destination , AND never had Hartenbos Beach or Hartenbos ATKV as a destination, should definitely reconsider Hartenbos as their next destination.IF peace, calm, mind relaxing AND destressing is what is expected in a holiday destination, then THIS is a recommended next option

Beautiful, clean, safe!

I absolutely love the beac. Best place to vacation in the Western Cape. You can not go wrong. The plase has the best of both nature and white sand beaches.You can take a walk along the beach and you will enjoy everything that makes this place so special.The locals are really friendly and willing to help you and that just makes this place even batter.

Easy accessible beach with net boardwalk along the beach.

A wonderful place to see the sunrise and sunset. This is one of my favorite beaches, it is clean and quiet and you can spend hour staring at the ocean and listen to the wave. It is close to an estuary so there are also a large variety of birds to look at.

Endless beach and enough room for everyone. Great amenities and restaurants close by.

Lovely beach wide nice waves

Beautiful beach all year round. The water is warm and great for swimming. The beach is always clean and very safe.Over the summer holiday season in December it gets a bit crowded- but I enjoy the holiday vibe. It is lively.

If you love collecting seashells this beach has the most beautiful seashells in different colors, shapes and sizes. There is a camping, caravan site as well as chalets and other holiday accommodation. And a mall on its doorstep.

Best to go early morning when it is not so windy and still space in high season. High tide leaves little space to put up umbrellas/gazebos to stay on the beach so go early. Nice and clean beach and water

The best camping weekend ever at ATKV Hartenbos. It was so nice to wake up and see the ocean. I would definitely recommend going to Hartenbos and spend some time there.

Beautiful nature, warm ocean temperature, lovely clean beaches, friendly people, safe beaches. Much entertainment, lovely market stalls, excellent restaurants on beach front with lovely views over the ocean. ATKV Hartenbos improved facilities over the years and still do. Ten out of ten to them!

This is a nice, clean beach. You can either walk on the sand and in the waves, or on the paved road that makes walking accessible to old and young. The views of Mossel Bay are good

One of the more beautiful beaches near Mosselbay. Just cant get over the large oil / gas rig in the middle of the bay (visible throughout the bay). But otherwise, a great place. There are better beaches along this stretch of coast, though.

Very enjoyable and they will see me one december holiday. Great fun. Great facilities. No need to go far for anything. Everything is on your doorstep within 1km. From a Spur and Ocean basket to Pick &Pay and Clicks. Lots still more to do and see. Water play park and giant jungle gym for all ages. Camping is great and bathrooms and showers are neat and tidy at all times. You feel safe and happy. LOVE ITTT!!!

The camp site needs attention, a gate fell on my child and cut open his head about 10 years ago, this gate has not been adressed. Further a brilliant place to rest

What an experience to visit this town... Friendly people who will help you any time. What a wonderful beach with excellent camp facilities, large & well organised. Take a long stroll along the beach or take a walk to the river-mouth. Wow!! Fantastic!!

Very nice and peaceful. The only problem is the shower door (its very narrow) and the bunk beds rather 2 single beds. Otherwise well come back soon.

The beach is very clean and has bathrooms near the beach and many great restaurants that you can enjoy while looking over the ocean .There are workers the whole day long who keep the bathrooms clean near the beach and they sweep the walkways clean .

You would not know they had that rain damage. They fixed everyting back to normal. Clean frendly people and intresting shops. All your needs in one clean complex. Even containing a hot swimming pool. 2 Public toilets. Access to beach. All you need. One shop even sells camping needs. That ones you forgot or broke. No need to go to Mosselbay.

Hartbenbos has stolen my hart. This is my happy place. Love the improvements made to the waterfront.

The beach was clean and well kept. It has a beautiful pathway thats very wheelchair accessible.

From family vacations as a child to bringing my own son to Hartenbos, this place will always remain a small piece of heaven.

Sands beach. Very safe with only small waves. Beach and public toilets are kept clean.

Gorgeous, idyllic beach holiday location.Its a very conservative white Afrikaans culture, and during the summers they tend to cater exclusively to this culture. You might feel a little out of place if this is not your crowd.Having said that, there is a lot to offer in terms of marine and eco tourism, explore your options!You couldnt ask for a better beach vacation destination. The water is a lovely temperature, and the waves are not too rough. Just be mindful of the occasional currents, some days they can be very strong, but this is not everyday.The weather and temperature is lovely and doesnt fluctuate much. The Garden Route is situated within one of the mildest and most pleasant climates you will ever find, and the greater Mossel Bay area showcases this perfectly. Its very similar to a southern Europe Mediterranean experience in this regard.The Seafront resort is a hub for various shops, restaurants and a waterpark and miniature golf course, all crowd pleasers.Perfect for families with young children.

Its a beautiful beach, you can swim there or just tan in the beach, very busy in the holiday season due to a caravan park and hotel very close by. Theres a stall on the beach selling all sorts of food and snacks which is open in the holiday season. Toilet facilities are also available close by which are open even in off season. You can walk all along the beach on the ATKV wandelroete where there are poems written at the benches where you can sit and read, lots of lovely restaurants and shops just around the corner with a waterpark
