I really enjoy it every time that I come here😊 I always learn something new or see something different than I used to. The post office tree is absolutely beautiful and I love the story and history behind the shoe. If youre a geocacher or someone that loves history then this is the place for you. I think this shoe inspired the whole geocaching thing and its so cool because I live in Mossel Bay. I wish they had the actual shoe tho. Highly recommend visiting

The history is amazing! Just think its over 500years ago and you can stand exactly where Dias stood! Almost the same view he had! With a replica ship close by you can just experience the adventure and excitement!Have a walk around and vist the shell museum. Have a bit to eat and buy a gift !

The whole museum complex kinda over shadows the tree and its historical significance but tons of knowledge provided just plan on more time & more learning than expected.

The history behind it. Way of communicating. We have much to learn.

Historical. But new history is also forced down as well. So be educational to your kids as the crimes of the past is put to the front as very important and the line of discrimination can very easily be crossed.

Quite interesting thing to visit. The 500 year old milkwood tree is huge, about 40 metres wide - we thought we were looking at a whole lot of bush then realised it is all one tree! Small entrance fee, I think it was R15, and lots of marine related stuff to see.

My granddaughter enjoyed the boat and shells but not much else at museum. The garden tree markings are not good as they do not indicate plants well as when plant dies out and other scrub pops up wrong signage.

Well worth visiting this part of our history. Not quite what one expects and rather tucked away, but worth the stop. And the view of Mossel Bay bay on the way in is stunning as well.

This is interesting although just worth a quick visit while visiting the Diaz museum. Not worth a special trip on its own

St
Review №33

This may or may not be the actual tree, so says the sign at the tree. Even if it is there really isnt much to see. There are other older or larger trees around. Very skipable.

An
Review №34

The historic value of the museums is thorough and include other explorers and detail such as Vasco da Gama and the development of ships throughout the centuries. There is also a shell museum where different crustaceans are displayed and described.

Much more to see than just a tree. Visit the shell museum and touch the live seastars and crabs!

There isnt too much info at the venue except a legendary story of a letter beibg posted at this tree. I have taken groups to this venue and it seems that as a guest I was more informed about the scenery than the so called guides. If I had worked here I would have at least done some research on the surroundings (anyone can use the internet nowadays!) There is even free wi fi spots in town so all you need is a wi fi capable device and there you go! Other that that the area is maintained pretty well.

Total waste of my money and time. Its a tree, that for the first 10 minutes in the area thought was just a normal tree and not THE tree, nothing special about it.
