Not a great experience. R80 wasted in my opinion.
This aquarium is small and cosy with a few fish tanks, an octopus open tank and a big tank with two smooth hound sharks. You can get into the water with the sharks. This is an unique experience that everyone can safely do. The owners are conservationists with a wealth of knowledge ready to share in their friendly welcoming way.
Nice little aquarium to show the kids some fishys
Very educational and wonderful to see people so enthusiastic about their field. My children were horrified to hear how some ignorant kids had harmed the octopus and other little creatures. We are so glad to know you do such amazing work. My daughter wanted to go into the tank with the Sharks however she only got as far as getting her feet wet and had a change of heart. Everyone was very patient and kind to her and offered for her to return a couple of days later.
Absolutely great experience diving with the 2 Hound Sharks. Would highly recommend The Shark Lab
Very cool. Not the biggest aquarium ever but brings great awareness on treating the sea creatures well.
Although its small, I think this place is worth the visit. Fishes are well taken care of and you will get a friendly welcome. I like how they are not just about entertainment.
Mini Aquarium but mostly dedicated to rescue sea life at the hands of cruel and naughty children as well as ignorant adults. Lots of love and care goes into the place and all the animals are loved.
Small and great experience, every sea animal has a name and are rescued inside.
The lady gave a good intro speech, but the aquarium is really small only exciting thing there was the two sharks. Like it said in the name mini. Not worth driving there just for the aquarium but if your there might as well give it a go.
This is as the name says....a MINI aquarium. But R30 gets you in to the mini experience, which is short and sweet.
My expectations started rather low... After all, entry was only R30 and its primarily a research facility... But really they could have tried a little harder. Yes theres a tank with sharks and its big enough to take a dunk with them... That will set you back R300 by the way... The rest? Theres one pool with some fish, and about 5 tanks, each with 2 or 3 fish in it.So even with low expectations to start with... They managed to disappoint.
Small place but highlight is to take pics with Sharks
Not a mini aquarium at all...more like a tank.
Not a lot a big variation of fish. Shark swim the only attractions
Conservation is the shark labs primary goal. Smallish venue but taken care for with love and passion trying to make it as stress free for fish. Owner is friendly and well informed. Well worth a visit to be reminded of the beauty of nature
The owner/operator was very casual and easy going. You were not pressured into going into the tank until you felt comfortable and ready. The interaction with the sharks was a disappointment as they appeared to be a bit shy and approached one out of curiosity rather than wanting to interact.
It is good if you like the ocean and the things that live in it. The displays are thorough, just make sure to take your reading glasses with you as there is a lot of material to study.
Very small, but worth supporting.
They look after the fish very well here and everything is clean. The lady that was there expand a lot of details about the fish which was nice and also got the octopus to come out as it was in its little hide spot. Unfortunately I didnt swim with the baby sharks but next time I go I definitely will overall its a small little toy you do but is well worth the small fee a charge.
I somehow was expecting more. But maybe its fine for kids to visit. Ive been to many aquariums but cant say Id go back again. The tank where u swim with the sharks is so small. You cant actually swim with them. You literally get in this oval sort of shaped tank and these little sharks swim around you. Very little room to do anything except stand there.
Smart, but needs a coffeeshop or teagarden for a quicky
Great visit
Tiny aquarium, but worth seeing non the less. You even get the opportunity to swim with sharks. Why not give this place a try? You can swim in the ocean right next door and eat the pizza while you are in the area. Bayside Pizzeria, Bayside Centre is less than a mile away. Please explore Mossel Bay. It has the most consistent weather in S.A.
Small but nice
What an amazing experience ..Amazing staff, they made me feel comfortable and i wasnt nervous at all .Worth a visit , also great souvenirs ! Loved everything about my visit
Very small, but nice for the kids to see, they even have a tank with Nemo and Dory. Was great to see some sharks up close and the bigger tank had some nice creatures, including an octupus which my kids absolutely loved.
A small aquarium but very well run. The shark swim is great fun and at the price a really good deal. I would say a visit to this aquarium is a must-do when you visit Mossel Bay.
Nice seeing sharks but you have to dive with them to make it worth wile
I wouldnt go there again. It is very small and does not have much to see. Think if the place was a little bit bigger and had more to see it would be alot better.
If you have been at a few aquariums you’ll be really disappointed. But for the R20 entrance (kiddies are free) and conservation/awareness in the area. It’s definitely worthy of a visit.
Small aquarium with enthusiastic helpful staff. An inexpensive visit that helps conservation efforts.
It was an amazing experience.
Very cool small little aquarium with the most enthusiastic people. Had a great time.
Very small venue. Nothing much to see. Swimming with sharks is ok I suppose
Not a very big shark lab. Saw 2 sharks that was okay. Small quint place. Just a quick pass thru
Very small, but an inexpensive visit. The tank where you swim with sharks is very small, but your money goes towards conservation, so I guess thats the main thing. I was a little disappointed, but the staff were friendly and knowledgeable
Interesting walk through the Shark research in the area. With a bit more funding they could do quite a bit more though
Please go visit. lots to learn. just love the octopus.
Not worth the entrance fee.
Its very small but we loved swimming with the sharks.
Its very small place but staff is very helpful and provides lot of information
Only a few fish tanks, very small setup, but you can climb in a tank and touch 2 meter long hound sharks. The owner was very helpful and friendly, you can surely learn a few things from him regarding fish tanks - one of his published books is about the marine aquarium.
I couldnt believe that they asked money for this. 5 tanks and the 🦈 tank with 2 sharks in it. Very disappointed. Dont waist your time and money.
It was great....learnt a lot about the sea life...enjoyed it very much
Wonderful place for little kids and adults to see!
Very small not a lot to see, but the hostess was very informative and the kids enjoyed it.
Great place to visit when youre on holiday with your family
Awesome mossel baai most stunning place
🦈
Very small, but VERY educational! Very cool stop indeed...
Small, but worth the trip... Very interesting 👍🏻
Small, not a lot to see,but the octopuss was very nice.and swimming with sharks nice.
The place has a lot of potential but I wont visit it more than once or rely on this being a attraction of the day when youre up here on holiday.
Expected more but its worth the price. Would not visit again.
Not much to see, but surely something to show the youngsters. Opportunity to be in the water tank with their small, friendly shark. Not sure what kind of shark it was, but harmless to humans.
R20 for a 5min walkthrough of probably 5 tanks. Swiming with sharks is more like dipping ur feet with 2 small sharks swimming around def not worth R150
Small, but intresting fish and great sharks
Was expecting a very large place, but it turned out to be a small place. Pity they dont get funding from Government to expand the experience
Got to see sharks at a low very low price
Could use an expansion and some more aqua life but ok for the R20 entry fee
Very friendly and informative staff. Went out of their way to give us a very personal experience.
Good passonate people running the place
Enjoyable for small children. Very small
Nice and friendly people with good food.
I think it is a waist of my time.
Only two sharks. Nothing really to see
5 stars absolutely good service
No assistance.... no one to explain....very very bad experience
Not much to see, very disappointing
Small but cute.
Awesome for children and visitors
Nice quick visit for kids
Very small tanks for the fishs and sharks, not recommended at all if you care about the animal well being
Disappointing. Two sharks in a small tank, two octopuses, and a few fish. Not worth R30 p/p.
Not a lot to see, except from an octopus and 2x sharks. A bit disappointed
To see the sharks and other fish was a lifetime experience
Small but a nice experience
Very Small and Hidden away from the public eye... Lack of Signage and no guidance once in the venue... Very dilapidated and damp...
Not much to see and the place looks kreepy
Very very very disappointed . dark and creepy place not a place that i would recommend to any one
Not what one expects.. Dark and dingy..
Only two small sharks. And a handful of fish in the aquarium. Not worth it.
It is ok and save for your kids
