Always was a pleasure to shop and find all building goods here, but the latest shopping experience was a disaster.Goods advertised at a certain price was charged double at the checkout. Quantities charged for was more than that package.Eventually walked out without buying anything.Continuing with this type of dishonest service and behavior does not bode well for this store.

Local hardware store that has got almost everything you need from plumbing to steel, wood and even camping equipment. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that will assist and give good advice on your project s. Prices are not exorbitant and they deliver larger items if needed. I have never had a problem returning faulty or wrong items as long as you have the slip.

Needed some specific bolts and nuts for a project, and they helped me with exactly what I needed, and I could buy the exact number needed, no waistage.

I love this hardware store. So this is a complicated review to write.Going to a hardware store isnt always because something has broken and we need to urgently fix it. I, like many others, want to enjoy the experience of shopping at a hardware store for the purposes of improving our living space. The issue is, that the staff at Pietria (through no fault of their own) dont allow us to revel in the experience of shopping here. The stores policy has a staff member follow you around even when you indicate that you are ok and would like to be left alone.In the 6 years that I have lived in Midvaal and been shopping at Pietria I always feel like I have to fight off the staff one at a time.I have often wondered how sales would be positively impacted if people were left to shop instead of having their hands held to and from the item they came from. I believe that a shopper left to himself will likely spend more money on things he did not intend to purchase if allowed to wonder through the isles which is what I desperately want to do at this shop.Of course there are times when I need assistance - but then I am happy to walk back to the front or to wherever the nearest staff member is to request assistance, but until that point - I want to read the labels of all the items to figure out what it is I need without someone prescribing it to me. If I didnt enjoy this part, I wouldnt be in the hardware - I would be hiring a contractor.Special mention must be made - Bradley is the stores greatest asset. He is so knowledgeable and friendly, but respects the need for distance. When I need his assistance, he goes out of his way to help me and I am grateful for that.Pietria dont deserve a 1 star review - but I do need the platform to speak about this.

The attitude from staff is rotten. My worker was overcharged for items cost under R60 For R201. When he went back was treated badly by Charlene who took the receipt from him & told him to come back the following Monday. When he did, he was past from a pillar to a post & up to Charlene who gave him another bad treatment + attitude, until I phoned her because I heard everything how she was talking to him like as if he was not a human being . I was told the boss was busy & he’ll attend to him. From 08:15am engaging with them until 10:30am the issue was not resolved.Never ever! I didn’t know the place, is just the poor guy got lost to the hardware we normally use.I’ll stick to my normal hardware rather than a place where they don’t respect customers. This is the place to avoid.

A great hardware, carry wonderful stock and prices are good, but they have no respect for there customer. after telling the floor staff i am happy and just looking they sneak behind you and make you feel like a criminal. WHY cant the customer be left alone to do his shopping?this is just respect and courtesy for your customer. if managements perception is that all customers are thieves he should stop running a shop.

Firstly when an employee assisted me with collecting the gas bottle from my vehicle, I asked him that I needed it to be refilled with his reply am I scared of getting Corona if I take another bottle.. In store I was told that you only deal with Afrox, I should buy an Afrox bottle and have it filled or I should go to Mica where I will get assisted. It wasnt an issue before with other bottles....
