We had a superb dinner. The Mussels and Trinchado were sublime. My family and I love typical Portuguese food and O Pescador did not disappoint us. It’s a beautifully run family restaurant. We had a great in this restaurant. The owner are very flexible, because one of use would like to have a vegetarian meal. They served a very tasty pasta. The fish of the day, a Baby Kingklip was good and the grilled prawns as well.Thanks for the good service.

One of the best dining restaurant experiences in Knysna I’ve had in recent years. Delicious fresh fish and lots of authentic Portuguese dishes on the menu. It feels clean and one feels comfortable there in the Covid times. There is a lovely little balcony with a beautiful view of the waterfront. Excellent and attentive service, seems owner run.

I’m giving this restaurant 5 stars purely because the food was so unbelievably good. We had the oxtail, chicken curry, prego roll and a trinchada starter. I’m still dreaming about this food 3 days later.Situated on the second floor of the Knysna Harbour it has stunning views of the harbour with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was fantastic (thank you JP) and they made us feel at home from start to finish.If you go to Knysna be sure to eat here!!

We had a lovely evening at O Pescador tonight, most delicious Espetada I have ever had, wonderful friendly owners and staff. Made us feel at home, we couldve stayed the whole evening it was truly fantastic! You will not be disappointed. A must when you visit Knysna.

One word - WOW .The food was amazing 👌🏼 ! We had the baby calamri as a starter , soooo good . I hade the catch of the day 🐟 they had the FRESHEST hake I have ever tasted . My fiance had the Chicken preggo roll , he was amazed at how all the ingredients complimented each other . Thanks so much for the amazing food ❤ I would definitely recommend this place .

Don’t miss this establishment, which is a little tucked away upstairs. I had the eisbein, which was delicious and my partner had the peri-peri chicken. Our server JP was very attentive. This is by no means only a Portuguese chicken restaurant. Five stars all the way.

Well.... What a gem of a spot! The experience from beginning to end was pure enjoyment! A warm welcome from host Laudette, to the attentive and knowledgeable waitron Andile and of course the most enjoyable food ever! My hubby and I shared a starter of Portuguese style sardines, and he had a piri piri baby chicken (not such a baby!) and I had seated tuna! All well prepared and presented and my only regret is that I only have one stomach!!! They are well set up to deal with Covid with sanitizing at entrance as well as temperature monitoring, with every second table not available for seating, al table cloths removed and cutlery in paper bags for hygiene purposes.We will be back for sure!

Absolutely incredible food! The baby chicken was the best I have ever had. The flavour!! The best touch was the bowl of peri peri jus that came with the dish for dipping chicken and chips in..truly special. Terrible steak and I looked to have the best. The lady owner had an attitude that was totally unacceptable and was in a high pitched voice in front of customers. I tried to calm her down with no success. Eventually left completely embarrassed. Only 3 customers at 5-30 pm on a Sunday tells the story of what used to be good. Sorry to see them going ---going --gone !!

Authentic Portuguese for sure. We loved the Peri chicken and Baby hake. But the winner of the day was the incredibly delicious Trinchado. Saucy and juicy with enough sauce to dip all the provided roared roll in.

A lively restaurant with the famous Knysna oysters if not sold out (they are popular) and plenty of meat options. Our favorite is the 500g Esperada, the finest rump served on a skewer.It is located at the seafront and parking is not an issue. The service is fast and professional.

Love Portuguese food, and visited a few Portuguese restaurants before and I have to say that O Pescador tops my list of Portuguese restaurants, from the service to the food was brilliant, even bought a few of their bottled sauces, absolutely love this place!!

Delicious meals, great wine pairings and smart service; this restaurant made every effort to give us a beautiful evening overlooking the inlet, in a comfortable yet sophisticated setting.

Food was ok, but nothing special. I asked for my fillet medium-well cooked. It came all bloody the first time around. I asked hem to grill it a little longer... the end of the story was that it took so long that I ate by myself after everyone on my table finished. Our server seemed to have some sort of attention deficit. He tried way too hard to be funny.

Spending a week in Knysna while working from home and I’ve been here for lunch every day. Great food and the owners are awesome. So far I’ve had the sardines, prego roll, steak trinchdo, chicken livers and baby chicken, and it’s all been top notch. If you like it extra spicy ask for their homemade peri peri on the side, but be warned: it is as deadly as it is addictive. Going back for lunch tomorrow 🙈

So nice, we ate here twice! A great location with beautiful views of the waterfront. The lunch special hake and chips was the best weve ever had! The batter on the fish had a lovely mild spice seasoning and the tartar sauce was very refreshing. The oysters we had also did not disappoint and was priced very fairly. During our second visit for dinner, we tried the chicken curry and the swordfish which were both excellent too. Would definitely recommend!

We had one of the most amazing dinner experiences in a very long time. We were greeted with friendly faces by everyone and the lady with the short brown hair was so thoughtful, friendly, helpful and funny. The waiter was well knowlagable over the menu and it was totally memorable he was tasteful and knew what we wanted before asking for it. The wine was amazing the food was great and the service was off the chart. We were treated like royalty. I will definitely return for more and this is one of my favorite new places ❤️ it made my birthday so special.

The most delicious meal I had while in Knysna! I found this restaurant while visiting from New York. The food and service were both excellent. One of the best meals I have ever had, great flavor and spices. My server Thando was attentive and really wonderful customizing the meal. Firstly, Upon our arrival we werent even seated in a welcoming manner. A lady with short brown hair(apparently one of the owners) was shouting where we can be seated and made it more of a priority to point out the reserved tables. I noticed when the guests (that made reservations) arrived she personally welcomed and seated them. Secondly, as a pregnant woman I cannot eat any undercooked food, I specifically asked that my steak should be well done which was not the case. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my meal (which I believe should have taken 4mins max). My steak came back without the sauce I ordered and had to wait AGAIN for the sauce. Bottom line... Unfriendly & poor service + mediocre food @ 4 star prices.

We had two fabulous meals here on our recent holiday. You have to try the grilled prawns with lemon or garlic butter sauce. My son is a vegetarian and loved the Vegetable Paella! The serice is quick and friendly. The ambiance wonderful.

First we wanted to go to another restaurant but it was too crowded and people were waiting in line to get a seat. Then we went to Our Pescador and ordered the catch of the day adviced to us by the waiter. It was a beautifully prepared and really fresh fish. Definitely ask for the catch of the day!

Amazing family owned restaurant with superb food warm friendly service and a great atmosphere. The Seafood combo and steak Espatada were fantastic and the pancakes for desert were the highlight. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the waterfront.

Ordered a curry - it was horrible and tasted like my husbands meal which was not a curry - it was served without sambals and when I asked for them the waiter was rude to me. I also ordered normal tea - got rooibos which I don’t drink at all.Sons of owner fantastic waiters and wife of owner a good hostess - the older WM waiter - rude to customers 👎🏼

We were seated fine, and drinks ok. Ordered food, main course. After about 20 min a group of 5 sat near us and a short time later a couple near us. We had arrived about 8.0pm, the place had been busy but lots were leaving so should have been no problem. After about 8.50pm the 5 had their main courses served plus this couple near us. So were very fed up by then. Went to the paying desk where it seemed the owner/manager was, plus quite a few staff were there, explained what had occurred. Saying we had enough, willing to pay for our drinks, were leaving and said they had totally spoilt our evening. She said our food was just about to be plated, but I said NO, She said we diid not need to pay for the drinks. So we went off to buy a few bits to eat. We were only staying in Kynsna for 2 nights on our long tour of South Africa and Zambia. Would you want to be treated like this.

The best food and service we received in Knysna. Andile, our waiter, did a fabulous job in getting our food to us exactly as we wanted it. Also, management checked on us and made us feel at home. Will definitely visit again.

Just a usual restaurant, food is not so spectacular its just an average dishes. Service wise, our orders was taken twice but still got the wrong tood.
