This is a real hidden gem smack bang in JHB. It has easy access in and out the city. Live entertainment that abides by curfew rules. This place oozes class. For someone looking for something different i would definitely suggest this. There are rooms one can book into as well with beautiful views of the city.

The reopening of Marabi was an awesome experience. The place was easy to find and has a safe valet parking service. The music and ambience of the Jazz club is impeccable. I enjoyed a hearty performance by The Muffins. The cuisine is out of this place allowing a tapas setup . The oysters, tbone, chicken, down to the dessert was out of the ordinary we got to taste most of their dishes. We had a great time here I cant wait for the next visit. A huge compliment to management and the chef

The food is absolutely delicious (went for restaurant week so set menu), great drinks selection (and cigars if youre into that) and the vibe is just something else! Wonderful place for a fun night out!

An absolute treat! My friend took me here for my birthday last year and what an incredible time we had-the ambience is absolutely electric thanks to the fact that its a jazz restaurant. The food was also good. I couldnt stop ranting and raving about this place to anyone who cared to listen after this

Place was hard to find, basement parking was terrible. Im so sorry, but the Jazz was boring and the food, well it has no taste. It was my first time at Marabi. Please introduce some soul food that we can identify.

Celebrated my graduation there. Had the best time; the food, the ambiance, the service, the music... everything was absolutely perfect. Marabi is a gem.

The ambience and entertainment are great. The servers and management are lovely. The food was a little bit of a let down given the price point for the tapas - expected a little more flavour or something memorable. It was very basic just plated up pretty.

Lovely venue in a gentrifying part of Doornfontein, Johannesburg. The Marabi Club is inspired by the south African style that developed in the 1920s called, Marabi... Big city music it was known as...This is a Jazz venue with a resident band that plays on most days, jazz standards, and some popular tunes. Occasionally the venue will book an artist or band.My bad got an invitation to be the entertainment for a glenlivet whiskey tasting event... They were lovely hosts, in beautiful space, took some pictures in the artist room... Lovely staff and affordable drink prices, I mention this as the place looks and feels expensive... But affordable.

Very lovely exclusive club with a lovely environment. We had a ball of a time enjoying the band and dance. They have a variety of select cigars and whiskys. The food and service is Devine and you wont be disappointed.

I have found a home. Being too grown for the regular club scene in todays world I discovered what is the perfect place for hubby and I to go when we need a night out. On arrival we were greeted by the valet who parked our car as we were escorted inside. The location gives an air of mystery as the door is right outside and doesnt offer even a glimpse into the establishment. Inside a hostess showed us to our table as the sounds of jazz welcomed us into an intimate setting. Right then I was convinced that I had made the right choice for our Valentines dinner. Service was prompt and the food divine. Portions are very small which we were told during ordering process. We shared the Sunday roast, calamari, quail and the mussels. Everything was fantastic. The rustic decor, live band and overall vibe was just perfect. We also got to witness an engagement which was super special😍 will definitely be back over and over again!

Absolutely fantastic venue! The staff is helpful and attentive. The location is a little off the beaten path so take an Uber and hope out right in front. The drinks are delicious. The food is unique and tasty.Random: Tge bathroom is awesome!

Lovely venue in the heart of jhb cbd. Tasteful decor, reasonable food menu and extensive alcohol offerings. Friendly staff and good security with secure parking available nearby. They do offer valet parking service at a nominal fee.

Hidden Gem does not begin to describe this place. The live jazz was great, and the food even better. The BEST tongue I have ever tasted. If you want to spoil someone with an unforgettable evening at a completely unexpected setting, this is it. Be mindful that this is not a ‘kuier’ restaurant due to the live music, but then you are there for all that jazz.

The ambiance is amazing. You also get a pleasant suprise of the valet service offered on arrival, the staff is very friendly and professional. The highlight of the evening was definitely the food! Totally worth the drive. Without a doubt, a gem has been discovered.

The Marabi Club is a great spot for an evening out, opened from Wednesday onwards. They offer a valet parking service, so one does not need to worry about finding a parking spot. The staff is attentive, the tapas style menu by Chef Katlego is very tasty, particularly the broccoli (yes, the broccoli) in a delicious sauce I cant stop dreaming about. Their wine selection is also good and pairs well with the menu. You can be guaranteed an enjoyable musical night with performance by guest artists or the resident band, so dont forget to bring your dancing shoes. For the smokers, they have a beautifully done cigar lounge thats great for after dinner drinks and a cigar of your choice.

The restaurant is very popular and youll need to book well in advance for a table. The food is very good as well with an interesting menu. Expect to spend between 500 and 1000 per head including enough drinks for the evening. There is usually a jazz band playing for the duration of your meal. No problem with having conversations at your table while the band plays on. I would go back, great cocktails.

We visited the Marabi club to watch Beatenberg perform. Its a great club, easy valet service available and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Nice decor, good old jazz club vibes.

As it currently hosts the Pot Luck Club for food it is an incredible experience. (End of 2017). Not sure how (and if at all) food is without Pot Luck, but currently a must go.Wine card is premium. The jazz band very good and entertaining. Seems to be the same band every day as I visited twice so far.Would always recommend this place.

Lovely place, staff is very friendly and their service is top but I wouldnt recommend getting food from The Marabi Club, I think the chef was trying to kill us. The meat was off and the food in general is over priced for what you get...nothing special cooking out of that kitchen but the music was amazing.
