Recently visited for lunch with friends, it’s a lovely cafe with a yummy bakery and delicious food. Staff was friendly and the cafe was clean, Was happy with their service overall 😊

Nice looking spot, but to be honest the food is very average! Also too expensive for what you get. Iam no chef but I can make the same food. The bakery has some nice things. Hope they can improve on that because I like the look..

Not a great experience at all. Although the menu offers chips with a lot of the options on the menu the restaurant did not have chips today. I ordered an omlette which arrived with the incorrect fillings and the tomato that was one of the 3 fillings was chopped into 5 big chunks which was not ideal. The service isnt horrible but not great. I feel like the place has lots of potential but it just managed poorly. Such a shame. Wont recommend.

We had burgers and chips with a house chilli sauce on the side. Delicious. There are Mediterranean dishes and toasteds and wraps, and Cake. Cake Cake Cake. Also steak for the meat eaters, and vegetarian food for those who are not. The staff are polite and attentive and friendly and the space is cool and airy and lovely for a summer afternoon.

First visit to De la Creme. Had a lovely brunch. Well prepared food served to please the eye and taste. Waitress Maya was very helpful. Manageress cheched in, which I appreciated. Covid regulations adhered to. Will visit again. Also want to try the bakery, pastries look super yummy.

Great Café! Ive been there for both breakfast and luch. Both menus offer a wide variety of dishes. The food is appealing to the eye and tastes delicious. The bakery offers a wide variety of baked goods. Everything from chocolate croissants to teramiso! All prices are reasonable. The manager is active on the floor and checks in with the guests. The staff are all attentive and friendly. All COVID-19 regulations are in place. Everyone wears masks and the tables are spaced so as to ensure social distancing. The tables are sanitized after the guests leave. Overall a great experience will definitely be back!

We bought some lunch-time sandwiches for a picnic and they were delicious and excellent value. Well definitely try some other things from the menu soon.

I didnt manage to take photos but De la Creme is a nice place that attracts a diverse crowd. The place was quite packed. It has that vintage atmosphere. The staff are friendly. Next time I will have a taste of their menu.

Shakshuka is terrible. Waitress Sisa kept messing up the order. Toasted Rye bread on the Avo smash was so hard it couldnt be cut with a steak knife. Wont return

Scrumptious breakfast ! There pastries, cookies, tartlets, macarons and cake pops are delicious. You can buy slices of cake, or whole cakes if available. We opted for a Bar One Cake - stole the shoe at home !

This is the perfect spot to meet and have a coffee with something sweet. The bakery is top shelf and the coffee sublime. Highly recommend and known as an old favorite in trendy part of Melville. Also note they are open later than most on a Sunday so perfect for walking Melville and then popping in to have a chilled sit down before you continue your relaxing day. Heads up though, no wifi, you will have to talk to your companion of the day.

Quint little coffee shop in the heart of Melville. The service was the not the quickest, but I did enjoy the atmosphere and the food was delicious. Good stop for those who feel like a good slice of cake.

I had the Patty Breakfast. The food was cold when I got it. The patty, tomato and bacon were burnt. 😔 They got my boyfriends order wrong and so we had to wait longer for his food to come.The place is cute though & they have friendly service.

Went there after a funeral at Westpark cemetery for tea and eats. Parking around that Melville area a bit tricky but well worth it. Service a bit slow but I platters to die for. Loved the atmosphere and host very pleasant. If Im in that area will pop in again.

The Baklava tasted weird so I asked when it was made and was told it was made five days ago. And it tasted like it. My best friends father owned a bakery for years and they would never sell anything that was not made that day. Feel like Gordon Ramsey would have flipped out if he were me.

What a horrible service we got at Dele creme this weekend. I am distraught! I made a booking for Sunday 13:30 which was confirmed. The website and the voucher (Hyperli) clearly states that the establishment hours are (Tues-Sun 08:00 to 18:00). We were rushed to order by the waiter to order, the guy was so rude. We then asked to order our food as take away and went to another restaurant nearby. When I got home my steak was burnt and couscous thrown in.You can do better!

The waitress was super helpful. The food was great and delicious. The ambiance very laid-back and relaxing, just what a Sunday lunch needed. Music is an uplifting modern jazz... Which is just on the right volume to take note and still eavesdropping on the table far removed because of social distancing.The bakery leaves beautiful aeromas of homemade bread and cakes in the air.

Used to get there very often.... Years ago. Still remember the toast with ham and cheese. Delicious cakes and pastry. A quiet, clean and friendly place.

The menu is really good with many options, they have reasonable prices, the food is amazing and so are their drinks, Im definitely going back there

Visited this place for the first time today. Had a late breakfast and it was absolutely disgusting. The waiter was rude and the manager pretended as if she never noticed how we wasted the one meal ordered and sent the other meal back to the kitchen. Definitely left a terrible taste in my mouth and I will never go back again!

Great place for a pleasant variety of baked pastries and goods. A breakfast and lunch delight with a constant buzz of customers. Excellent food at medium to high prices but worth the expense for the quality. Open views on the street corner make any dull moments interesting and efficient service makes the visit invigorating. Take home delights add to the flavourful aftertaste.

Service was terrible, ordered drinks before breakfast, only received my coffee after I already had my whole breakfast. To top it it was the wrong coffee as well. Cannot recommended the restaurant to anyone.

I felt as if I was stepping back in time, with the jazz music and decor. With so many interesting things to look at; the baker coming out with a tray of fresh croissants, popular among the locals. If youre not into fresh juices and health food, then this will be more your vibe. I found my halloumi stack a little salty and heavy as it was fried, but then Im a health fundi. A sauce would have been a good addition. Coffee was really good. And I must get something at this bakery for later!

Parma Alfredo was way too salty(dont order). The Chicken had extra piece of metal.

Owner/ manager felt that it was necessary to discipline the staff loudly enough for all of us to hear.

Lovely place in Melville. Very good spot for a lunch or breakfast. There is something for every bodies taste on the menu. The goulash soup is a winner, but all the sweet items on display also look great. Our waitress was super friendly.

New management really rude. I used to go there every morning on the way to work for a coffee and treat. New management sells stale confectionery and lies it was fresh when you complain, even when you give them the item back and the can see its old. I will never go back there. EDIT: this was soon after the new owners took over. The manager was a man, with dark hair and a beard.

New management, and the new menu does not include the old favourites. Not the same experience as the De La Creme we knew. Most of the items we wanted to order from this new menu were not available. The quality of baked goods are not the same anymore. An owner-managed enterprise seems to do better in this spot. The manager was friendly, but could not ensure that these issues would be resolved. A very long wait for a simple order. Some improvements on the interior decor. Will update the review should anything improve.

I love their breakfast. The place is well kept but the kitchen staff have a tendency of giving me white bread instead of the brown bread I ordered. It happened twice. The service is good though

De La Creme Melville is serene, very clean and neat, the staff are friendly and service is excellent. the meals are crisp and fresh and oh so tasty. creme de la creme...

The place is actually quite rustic. Food was decent but not mind blowing. Its really a good place to have brunch.

Ive always liked this simple venue. Lovely to sit down in an airy place where people work on their computers. Its had its ups and downs over the years. This time I didnt feel the staff were really trained, they seemed to just hang about although they were friendly.

Delicious coffee

This is a great place for a quick cup of coffee or light lunch, business meeting or even a birthday celebration. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. We enjoyed a peanut butter freezio, chicken soup and chicken mayo sandwich, and had arguably the most inexpensive but tasty chelsea bun, and a pecan nut pie to go. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. I just found it puzzling that you have to pay for butter and honey.

Excellent breakfast

We went after work after specifically checking when the coffee shop was closing, as we did not want to be rushed. It closed at 6pm. The food was fair to middling, but I would not have complained. However, at 5.15pm, while we were still sitting at our table, staff started rolling up the blinds outside and putting chairs on tables. The rolled up blinds were especially jarring, as it left our table in direct sun, as well as with the sun directly in our eyes. We got the message that we were no longer welcome, and left. Wont be back.

I was last here when I was at school. At this stage, it was dark and danky.Its been overhauled with absolutely beautiful light and airy decor. Today, I just had coffee - which was delicious - and am dying to try the rest of the menu!
