Very disappointing. The chicken literally reeked. You know that smell after you accidentally cook rotten chicken, yeah that smell. This is the worst place I have ever been to. Michael Angelo hotel needs to review having them around. Absolutely disgusting. If you are looking to eat here, dont believe the hype. A total waste, McDonalds could have been better.

Great spot for a meal in the heart of Sandton. Recently given a facelift to a more Funky vibey looking eatery. Staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. They have launched a new AfroFusion menu. If you the adventurous type give them a try. Although I didnt enjoy my meal 100% due to the bones in the fish, I thoroughly enjoyed the taste and the flavour of the starter trio soups especially the peppered Goat meat Soup.

Definitely not for none meat eaters, got served a salad without a salad dressing or salad and pepper. Asked for a salad dressing and was given olive oil and balsamic vinegar! I use these with salt and pepper to make a vinegarette. I have never felt so bad for not eating meat.

The food was basic and not 4 star worthy. The service is also very poor. I could not believe that this restaurant is a 4 star restaurant, everything was very average. The cutlery was dirty as well as the seating table. The prices are quite affordable but I wouldnt call this a 4 star restaurant.

My worst dining experience for this year with all the good reviews I thought this would be an excellent place to have a meal with family but was very disappointed. Chicken served with hair and was still bloody. Milkshakes tasted very sour. Sausages was tasteless. The list goes on... very disappointing for a Sandton Dining experience.

I think this restaurant deserves a million stars, I have NEVER eaten food nicer than their lamb chops😭. They where tender, juicy, fresh, the mushroom sauce just melted in my mouth. I paid my bill a happy woman, minus my drink which tasted like sour water with a bit of flavoring🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ please make your drinks as nice as your food

HAVING BOOKED AND PAID EARLY FOR VALENTINES EVENING ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF A COLLEAGUE, WE ENDURED AN EVENING OF HELL.ALTHOUGH OUR RESERVATION WAS ON THE VERY TOP OF THE LIST, WE WERE OFFERED THE WORST TABLE IN THE ROOM.IT WAS IN THE FOYER, VIRTUALLY, AT THE FRONT DOOR AS ONE ARRIVES AND IN THE PASSAGE.REFUSING THAT, WE WERE THEN OFFERED A MAKESHIFT TABLE WITH WHAT SEEMED LIKE RENTED CHAIRS, ALSO IN THE PASSAGE.MY OUTBURST WITH THE MANAGER RESULTED IN OUR BEING OFFERED A TABLE MORE IN THE BELLY OF THE RESTAURANT, BUT IT WAS A KIDDIES SIZE TABLE UNDER WHICH WE COULD NOT FIT OUR KNEES.WE STAYED WHERE WE WERE, RELUCTANTLY.WE STRUGGLED TO FIND SERVICE AND EVENTUALLY WONDERED WHETHER IT WAS SELF-SERVICE.WE STRUGGLED TO GET SALT AND PEPPER.WE WERE GIVEN BREAD ROLLS THAT MUST HAVE BEEN LEFTOVERS FROM SUNDAY.THE SOUP WAS DELIVERED. THANK GOODNESS IT WAS A COLD SOUP BECAUSE NO SPOONS CAME WITH IT.WE ORDERED VEUVE CLIQUOT CHAMPAGNE WHICH WAS ROOM TEMPERATURE SO WE CHILLED IT UNTIL IT WAS VAGUELY COLD.THE WAITER WHO SERVED US TRIED TO EXTRACT A SMILE FROM US, BUT HE WAS UNOBSERVANT, SLOW AND HAD NO PROBLEMS REACHING ACROSS US TO TAKE PLATES, INSTEAD OF GOING AROUND US.THE PROCESS OF PAYMENT WAS SLOW AS WELL.THE FOOD ITSELF WAS TASTY AND AS GOOD AS EXPECTED.WE DECIDED TO LEAVE WHEN THE TABLE CLOTHS STARTED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE VACATED TABLES, MUCH LIKE THE TABLES ARE STACKED AT WIMPY WHEN THEY START CLEANING UP.OTHER PEOPLE SEEMED TO BE DISENCHANTED AND I DO BELIEVE A TABLE OF THREE GOT UP AND LEFT.OTHER PATRONS WERE SEEN TO BE EXPLORING THE RESTAURANT IN SEARCH OF A DECENT TABLE AND NOT ONE IN THE PASSAGES.THE FACT THAT A TV WAS ON AND ON A SPORTS CHANNEL REALLY SET THE TONE AND AMBIANCE FOR THE EVENING.WHAT A DISASTER.WE HAVE TRIED TO REGISTER OUR DISCONTENT ON THEIR SITE, BUT IT DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY MESSAGES.I HAVE GIVEN IT A ONE STAR RATING BECAUSE IT DOES NOT ALLOW A ZERO.

Located in front of the Sandton convention centre is convenient to host as hoc meetings. The food is good, but the service is erratic and need improvement based on the high priced menu.

Every time I am in Johannesburg and staying in Sandton I manage to stop in this place. Its a perfect lounge situated just behind Nelson Mandela Square. I can say with full confidence that the food here and the ambiance is perfect! I normally will order the Filet Mignon 300g with sauté vegetables and mashed potatoes. Better than even what I have back home jn the U.S.!Last time I was there a gentleman who simply goes by Uncle Phil was there with a Jazz trio playing some live music on Sundays, so I definitely recommend stopping in for a late lunch/early dinner. That mixed with the food makes this an excellent choice.One other thing, I love my Cognacs after dinner and I asked them to serve it traditional, so they brought my Courvasier situated atop a steaming glass of water which when the heat from the steam hits your turned Cognac snifter it really released the aroma and full flavors of the Cognac. Superb!
