This hotel is very neat and well situated. The rooms are well equipped, and they encourage you to ask if you need anything that is not in the room. Staff is very professional and friendly. The standard rooms feel rather small but manageable. Rooms have a lot of packing space, which was surprising. Breakfast was filling - and the waiters very friendly and helpful. Appreciated the safe and secure underground parking.

Unexpectedly quite and peaceful. Rooms are clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel shuttle service driver, George is a great guy. He is friendly and made the drive from and to OR Thambo pleasant. Breakfast is great, restaurant service is great, the food is awesome. Was to cold with rain pouring down to use the pool, which looked very inviting. We always overnight here between travels. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Good value. Good Covid measures in place. Weird background noises at night that can keep you up though. Not sure if that is in the hotel or outside. Great in house dining. Pricey for food.

Great location, close to all the stores and restaurants in the center. Great amount of foods all the way from fast food to more fine dining. The hotel is also clean and comfortable with superb service and incredible breakfasts.

Very disappointed. Paid nearly R3000 for a night at the hotel for a very average room where the bathroom sliding door was jammed, fixtures on the shower were loose, the balcony ledge was dirty and worst of all, the air-conditioning wasnt working on an extremely hot night. Didnt sleep well as a result of this. Conveyed this to the staff at the front desk, got promised that management would contact me. Still waiting. Will not be back. There are much better places to spend good money on.

Southern Sun Montecasino a nice place to be at, every time you visit, it feels like its a first time and new place. The staff/workers are loving and friendly, they do their job with passion..

The restaurant inside has an amazing menu and it is peaceful. It is a nice getaway from your family to just eat and enjoy

Wow that place it was amazing. Everything was great. But the problem is that their fridge inside the room is so small

We held our company conference there and were looked after very well. The directors slept over and were also very happy with the facilities and service.Overall it was a great experience!

Their service is excellent, good food, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, cleanliness, and safety, if you know what I mean.

Terribly disappointed with the level of service received from this hotel . I completely understand that the pandemic makes things alot harder for everyone , however the staff is completely rude especially during breakfast service . We were served burnt food with not even an apology received. Plate was taken away and dumped back on the table ... we said thank you and got a smug look of annoyance in return . The hotel room didnt have any tea or coffee ... and the overall standard was absolutely terrible . The excuse of covid is no reason to lack on service as this so called 4 star hotel lacks simple amenities that i could get from a 3 star . Waste of money actually.

I can not fault this hotel. If you plan on going here be prepared for a friendly welcome and a hassle free booking.There are complimentary beverages in the bar fridge in your room as well as your tea and coffee station.The bathtub is of a good size to relax with complementary bath foam, there is also a shower.Smoking rooms are available.The ground area has a bar and a pool area if you feel like having a relaxed time.The breakfast that they serve is incredible and the staff are attentive.All in all I would definitely recommend this place.

Lunch was a delight. The food was outstanding with an abundance of choice. A bargain at R230(excluding hot and cold beverages).Very classy atmosphere, excellent live entertainment and the staff were helpful, friendly and very professional.It was one of the best Sunday afternoons Ive spent, in a very long time.Thank you!

Fortunate enough to have a free night B & B for my birthday. Amazing staff at reception & at breakfast the next morning. Lovely variety of food (Not the usual stodgy & greasy offerings).Need to mention that there was a beautifully baked chocolate cake as well as champagne in the roomfor my birthday. What a Lovely & thoughtful touch to the whole stay.Definitely a really lovely relaxed & friendly environment.

Horrible experience, we were staying here during a particularly cold evening , there were no blankets inside of the room, when I approached front desk for assistance they told me those rooms accordingly to hotel policy do not have blankets allocated to them and that they have no extra blankets at all. Unfortunately my entire family could not sleep peacefully due to them feeling extremely cold

Stayed 1 night in a standard room on 4th floor facing the pool and pond. Comfortable room with bath and shower. All amenities in the hotel are conveniently situated. The casino is within walking distance. The windows are double glazed which blocks out the noise from the motorway. Friendly and efficient check in and check out.

Stay there for 6 nites.. The room was very clean, even though for every 2days I should re-register mu room card.. The staffs were humble.. And the breakfast was good, but the menu were same for everyday

This hotel has so many great points. Excellent decor and design and well trained and pleasant staff that go out of their way to assist. Small but well appointed bar area off the main reception. Breakfast is large and plentiful with a good selection however queuing to be seated in the morning at peak may take an unpleasantly long wait. The hotel compensates by serving pastries, coffee and teas at the bar for those who just want a light bite. The main restaurant serves Italian at dinner and has good dishes but a limited menu with no veg options for mains except a pasta. The pool overlooks a large pond with ducks and swans and has a few sun beds and a larger area for eating in warmer months. Rooms are neat and some have balconies. Family rooms may be small and cramped so choose carefully if you have older children. The closets in the std rooms are tiny so you may have to live out a bag, but is perfect for a couple. A minute scenic walk to the casino with a shuttle if required to the casino and entertainment area or the amazing bird park.All in all, 5* rating all round.

The staff at reception and the porters, their service was v.good and they make you feel important. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfast, their service was good, everything was on point👌👌

Hotel location is great. Its walking distance to Montecasino. Where you can find lots of nice restaurant. There is also a food court, cinema and theater. You could also try your luck at the casino. Overall, it a nice lace to spend your evening. It also has an outdoor area with few restaurants and cafes.

Stayed here for my birthday weekend, great place. Conveniently located, walking distance to the casino and shops. The suite was huge, neat and had a good view of the lake. Breakfast was good, check-in and checkout was seamless.

Really enjoyed my stay at Southern Sun Montecasino. Checking in and out was very simple and easy. The staff always greeted with a smile and would always help out with any questions I had. The hotel and rooms are clean and look great and the breakfast buffet is superb!

Great stay at Southern Sun Montecasino. The service received was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Montecasino is well situated and what I really enjoy is that once Ive parked my car that is the last of the driving until you leave, Montecasino has every thing covered.

Presidential suite was good but not quite as luxurious as I expected. The staff were very helpful though. I would stay there again.

We were checked in very quickly, with friendly staff. Room was in superb condition. Lovely wooden deck with table and chairs overlooking swimming pool and a small lake.

I enjoyed this hotel, it was great!! The buffet is good, the beds and pillows are very comfortable. Aircons work beautifully and the staff are very very helpful!

The room and location was great, but the breakfast is terrible. There was nothing at the breakfast buffet that was good. I had raw sausages, dry and old hash browns and flap jack, not even the pastries were good.

We often get away to this hotel. Fairly priced with a stunning deck area by the pool that makes you feel like youve left Joburg

I used the bathroom facility only, sorry. However, the reception, bar, and deck/balcony overlooking the pond is marvelous. I think the building needs a new coat of paint. The staff were friendly and professional.

Good hotel. Checking in was a nightmare. We were a group. We arrived at 5pm and nothing was ready. We had to wait 20 min for our cards.

Upmarket hotel with great service. Nice to be close to the entertainment and restaurants located in Monte Casino. Fun for a night out and then a sleepover to avoid traffic police.

5 star service throughout. Staff are attentive and friendly always willing to help.

Great conferencing facilities however the signage to get to the hotel needs to be improved. Once you turn off the main road there are no more signs to Southern Sun, only Pivot and Sun Square and security/staff are not very helpful

The hotel has a good restaurant and bar. Rooms need a few more facilities like an alarm clock, an iron and ironing board, some snacks, bathroom accessories other than soaps. Could afford to given the room rates.

Where do I start!!!! I dislike hotels. Alot. I dislike the formality. The uniform rooms. Everything has a place. I travel, ALOT. I like a homely atmosphere. This hotel has that. Even the uniform rooms feel, well different. This hotel changed my perception and is now my first choice when in Johannesburg. And the breakfast is superb!!!!

The experience was good but struggled with sneezing as a result of the carpet. The bathroom basin also needed repainting it did not look pleasant inside.

We had a pleasurable stay at Southern Sun Monte Casino. I was quite pleased to see lamb sausages and chicken cold meats on the menu.

A great hotel conveniently located close to the PIVOT conference centre. A nice deck for sundowners.
