Wow...I have never been so dissapointed with service...ever! I made an appointment as a first time patient about 2 or 3 months ago with Prof Solomon, who I have only heard great things about. I was given a slot on 28th Oct. When I called to make an appt for my son a month ago I was told the Prof is not seeing new patients at the moment and to call back in the beginning of October. I asked if my appt was still valid and was told yes. Today I called again to see if I could get my son in. I was told by a man that he is not seeing new patients, and he has no idea if or when he will. I asked again if my appt was still valid, and was told no it is not. When I asked when they planned to tell me it was cancelled I was told by Thuto that they would have called me the day before my scheduled appt. This is utterly disgraceful. To be told a day before your appointment (that was made months before) that your appt is cancelled is just unacceptable. This is a chronic disease, and medications are needed and cant just be stopped. I cannot even begin to express my dissapointment.

The worst experience ever. I will never put my foot in that hospital. They phoned to say a bed as ready. I then rushed to hospital, becuase I am desperate and waiting for 7 days for a bed. When I got to the reception. They informed me that the bed they had for me, was given to to another patient. My time and effort to rush here, just for them to tell me the bed is given away. Why didnt they phone me to tell me this? They told me to come back and I must Waite at home until the phone me. Unprofessional service., the ladies frm the doctors room, didnt even hav the respect to come and say this to me and explain to me. Even when I aksed them to.They refused. I came for medical help and I had to turn away because they played with me and made me rush for a bed that they gave away.

Great surgeons and very good nursing staff but the reception staff are very unhelpful. After 4 hours of waiting to be admitted for a prearranged surgery not once could someone come and update me as to why I was waiting in the cold reception area for more than 3-4 hours from the time I was told to cone to the hospital.

I was there today for a top and bottom scope. What wonderful caring and friendly staff. Thank you so much for making an unpleasant procedure as pleasant as can be.

My child was having an adeinoidectomy and grommets surgery with Doctor Ismail Khaleel,might i add the best ENT surgoen ever. The nurses in pediatric sbward were amazing especially nurse Lindiwe and another very beautiful dark lady from Limpopo who admitted her, i forgot her name. Its a great hospital indeed and the stuff are amazing too.

I had a very good few days in this very well run Ward J. Thanks to all the staff, from nurses, cleaners, catering, even the receptionist staff are so friendly, Busi. Was very well cared for. Drs checked on me twice a day, nurses excellent. Thank you Donald Gordon.

My wife receiving such bad service from the nurses in Ward 2....ask for a headache tablet at 15:22 and have to follow up at 16:05 when it still has not been supplied. Constant noise in passages, not answering patient call bells etc.

This is by far the best hospital Ive come across. The staff on duty on the night of 25 January were amazing..They were polite and helpful.The staff make your stay comfortable and are alwaysavailable.. The meals were good and the ward was neat at all times.This hospital needs an award for the service they provide.Well done to the staff and the board of directors.Im really impressed.

I had very bad experience with Dr Wadee the oncologist. My husband dies 24 June 2014. Doctors refused to take my husband to ICU they just let him die just like that. Doctors from ICU were called to come to the ward as he was bleeding they refused to come I had to go to ICU myself and ask for assistance when I arrived back in the ward my husband already passed on. Dr Wadee was telling me that my husband is dying there is nothing he can do. He wanted to switch off the oxygen machine by Gods grace the following day he was out of oxygen and taken back in the normal ward. Even my husband he died knowing that the Dr doesnt want to assist him with anything he just want to see him dead. He wanted to discharge himself because of the treat he was getting from the doctor. I had very bad experience on that hospital !!!! That I will never forget !!!

One of the best hospitals I’ve been to in the Country. World class standards. The staff are so friendly, caring and efficient. They made my stay a very pleasant one. As for the Doctors they put their patients interests first. My Specialist Dr K. Ismail was absolutely brilliant. His pleasant bedside manners and attention to detail is remarkable. He was always so courteous and polite from our 1st appointment right until post surgery. I will highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking Medical Attention.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, I have spent many hours at the Donald Gordon hospital and medical facilities. During this time, I have received such wonderful care and compassion from all the staff that attended to me during this time. I underwent numerous operations and was treated with the utmost care and friendliness by everyone. Well done!

Was admitted here for surgery on two separate occassions, in the ICU and high care wards. Very clean professionally run hospital. The entire staff is lovely. Had a good Dr. operating on me. Many thanks.

Customer care is very unprofessional and incompetent. I usually call to arrange deliveries for patients and I always get people who are not helpful, rude and just negative. Either they are not skilled to be working in the customer care department or they are not happy with their salaries (why dont they quit?) I am terribly affected because some of the patients dont get deliveries on time due to this.

Most pathetic... Stay away!!!! Took an hour and half to get admitted. NO doctors availanle in case of emergency. 14 hours after suspected stroke, numerous calls later, oy to be told only admittind dr may see him... At 24h00 tonite... Really???????

This hospital is not for general problems and people who think that they know better than doctors. This hospital and its fantastic doctors have kept a very important family member of mine alive for over a decade. Every hospital has its problems, in this case there is a lack of parking and that is about it. Other than that, I have not and will not come across a better hospital than DGMC.

Started off fine until had to wait an hour and half in paediatric ward procedure room (thats what the staff call it) with my son and asking the nurses when he will be taken in for his procedure to be told they dont have a clue, in the meantime the dr is waiting for us in theater and couldnt locate us, lucky for me I phoned the drs room,...than got the ball rolling, to top off there no available cot beds no adequate seating chairs and no toilet facilities for waiting in procedure room...

Dr Joubert Steinberg is the most exceptional Dr.Dr Steinberg was the Specialist on duty, at the Donald Gordon Hospital Ward M02 Transplant ICU, when a friend ran into serious complications 0n 08November 2019 after an Operation performed on Monday 4November 2019 at the Hospital. Dr Steinberg made the most accurate diagnosis on the situation and immediately implemented the correct procedures to save my friends life. He stayed at his Bedside for days monitoring and checking with such precision in the most focussed manner. What a special Human! Thank you Dr Steinberg. You are that One in a Million for your attention to detail and follow through whilst displaying such humility, dedication and compassion for the patient and his friends and family. Our gratitude to you.

I was devastated when my husband was diagonised with cancer cried for two months and asked the doctor the same question I, eventually I was told by my husband not to come to the rooms when he goes for a check up anymore. Dr A Wadee was so humble .Chemo NURSERS are most caring and loving.Dr C Solomon best doctor excellent bedside manner and I pray that she never changes. Love you doctor

My experience wasnt as great as the other people. My dr. was brilliant. But the hospital staff a zero. I was supposed to get injected with warfarin the nurse lies about it and sign it off In my file that she injected me. When my dr. Asked about it she said she injected me. I told him no one was by my bed to inject me. When the morning staff come in they phoned her. Then she said she forgot to inject me. The worst part of it she gets away with it. The night shift was no help at all. When I ring the bell for help you can see she was sleeping and not very helpful. She put my drains in my hand and my drip for me to walk alone to the bathroom after surgery. I couldnt get out of that hospital quick enough. My daughter also had a very bad experience there. Will never ever go to that hospital again!!!!

The hospital is equipped with good doctors. My aunt got the best medical care from this hospital when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Well looked after facility with very good staff with empathy

I had to have endoscopic sinus surgery and septoplasty and my doctor, Dr Ashen Nanan did a superb job in creating an opening to my sinus. Its been a week since surgery and although Im still recovering, I can already feel a difference. In addition, the nursing and support staff were fantastic, they took such great care of me for the one night I stayed in the hospital.
