With gorgeous views of the lake, this restaurant is so worth a visit and will no doubt become a regular of ours. The food was beyond exquisite, with prawns and calamari melting in our mouths! Perfect peri-peri and lemon butter and hands down the best crispy chips in Joburg! The frozen margherita was another huge surprise and perfectly made! Gracious staff and owners, do yourself a favour and go to the Nikos Modderfontein, well done guys!

Very accommodating to your quirky foodie needs, good variety on menu and reasonably priced with excellent service from staff who dont hover or disturb your meal and dont rush you along.Not overcrowded, light and airy with great views across the river.Clean loos with all the required necessities, hands free drying, moisturiser and the necessary Covid-19 compliance with sanitisers and the necessity social distancing.Smoking area available adjacent to the restaurant as required by law.I was just a visitor in the area but my friends go there frequently for the cool vibe and delicious food.

Where do I even start, I loved everything about Nikos and I am so glad to have discovered this beautiful gem of a place. The restaurant has this good vibe to it from the minute you enter and the decor is such a pleasure to look at.It perfectly compliments the lake view. Our waitress Pretty was kind enough to explain all the Greek named dishes to us and gave recommendations on what we should order. The food was neatly served and very tasty, the portions were also value for money even managed to take some home. If you looking for a homely and a place that values their customers Nikos is the place to be .I will definitely be back and their bathrooms smelled amazing🙈.

You surely will feast on their freshly home-made dishes, and you will leave as part of the family.Having had a full Seafood meal for Greek Orthodox Palm Sunday was even more authentically Greek, as it was filled with Greek families who lingered as long as we did, enjoyed an array of dishes and soaked in the almost island atmosphere.I’ve been eyeing out all the excellent food posts from Nikos and when you see that the customer food posts look the same as the advertising, you must know that this is serious food. And boy, Oh boy!! This was an experience of note. I could write a short novel on this but I’ll be as brief as possible.Starting with the best Spanakopita I’ve ever eaten, with crispy phyllo pastry encapsulating a delicious filling of spinach and feta, you know this journey is going to be póso thavmásio (wonderful)!! Followed by an incredibly fresh Village Greek salad with a delightful chunk of Greek feta cheese, then soft delicious pita bread with 4 of the most wonderful dips – Tarama (fish roe dip), Htipiti (Red pepper, chili and feta dip), Hummus (Chickpea dip) and my favourite – Skordalia (garlic dip with crushed garlic, pureed potatoes and lots of olive oil). Heavenly describes the Skordalia best if you love garlic and velvety potatoes.Getting to mains and sides – the next chapter on this marvellous adventure. Vegetarians will love the delectable Roasted Cauliflower with burnt butter, sage and pine kernels. Even I could go Veg with this spectacular dish. It’s a must try for anyone. We had meaty Mozambican Tiger Giant prawns (seasonal and you must ask if they have it) and the most succulent and flavourful Mozambican King Prawns – accompanied by lemon butter and a special Nikos spicy sauce. Add a whole coal-grilled Kabeljou (fish) that is perfectly grilled and full of flavour, with the most tender, tasty calamari, crispy zucchini fries that stayed crisp through the whole meal, perfect crispy roast potatoes and you have a feast for Neptune!! Seafood never tasted this fresh and tasty. Brilliant food preparation of products sourced by John to be the freshest and the best, excellent plating and fabulous taste all round. Bravo to the peeps in the kitchen.Dessert time - Freshly made traditional Loukoumades (Greek mini doughnuts in syrup and nuts) were just scrumptious as you bite into the hard outside layer and taste the syrupy goodness combined with crunchy nuts. The Pavlova, with its layers of meringue, whipped cream, berry coulis and mixed berries, sprinkled with Turkish delight and castor sugar was just sublime. I’m having a whole one next time.  Finally two cups of double Greek coffee and lunch was done …. no need for dinner after such a fiesta.

I absolutely loved the food here. Very flavourful and authentic Greek cuisine. The stand out was definitely the excellent service we got from Sibusiso. He was such a great waiter and made us feel so welcome. I would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic Greek experience with amazing views. The Yiros are my favorite and cocktails are quite nice as well. Their starters are however really small portion wise for the price. But definitely my favorite Greek restaurant.

Beautiful restaurant. Great atmosphere. WA stunning view over part of the Modderfontein reserve and lake. Excellent service, a unique menu and plating.The food looked so good. Couldnt decide what to choose. Drinks are great especially the cocktails. Delicious 🤤Great place to book for a birthday or any other special occasions.Would definitely recommend if you want to try something different, this is the place.

Outstanding service and good food

I loved the food however 5 days ago I ordered the coal grilled chicken for mains and chicken livers for starters. Expectations were high as I ordered the same the same a few times and really enjoyed it. Thus time, the sauce was changed which spoilt the experience and taste. Dont think I will visit again.

All I can say is WOW! Completely unexpected. The food was full of flavour and the cocktails were good. Definitely going back plenty of times!

The waiter offered to put together a dish for me and my date. Rather than giving us a good split, he gave us 4 langoustines, which is super expensive, a portion of wedges and a portion of calamari. For the same price he could have put together a decent size meal where I did not have to wonder if my date was, still hungry. Otherwise good was good though.

What a gorgeous restaurant with amazing service. This is going to be my favourite place - it is exactly the kind of place where I can chill and enjoy my food. The hospitality is just so amazing :)

I have soo much love of Nikos food that I cant go a week without eating it. Today I decided to order through Mr D as I was tired from work and when my food arrived there was some stuff missing. I called Nikos and spoke to John, the owner. I was frustrated at first but he managed to calm me down, and he personally delivered the missing food with a warm smile.. He even brought me a meringue. Nikos will always be a place that I go to and recommend to my friends and family... Awesome service John,keep up the awesomeness in your service..

Food was ok,a bit salty. Service was good however looking for someone to help when you need it can take a bit of time. Overall a nice place to have lunch or supper.

Wow, what a great restaurant! The food was awesome and the restaurant has a fantastic location.

Nikoz is they best restaurant that we have our most dinner meals at. The staff is friendly, food is scrumptious and reasonable. The owners are super friendly. You just feel at home when you are at this restaurant.

Very tasty good. Chops could be a bit thicker. Server in enamel plates.... Less breakages for kitchen 😂. Corrugated baklava disappointing and pricy for what you get. We had it as a take away and when we opened it we were disappointed. I returned it and the manager and owner was excellent in the way he handled it. He immediately brought out a tray of the real deal baklava and served two health portions. Rating home up from 4 to 5. Restaurant is very noisy. Much better outside.

Owner of this store doesnt bother to wear a mask when talking to customersI was there to order a take away. Was enquiring about the entertainer app deal manager walked up to me with no mask to talk to me. I walked away , i supported another restaurant.

This place is a winner! The prefect restaurant to hang out with friends and catch up. The food is traditionally Greek with flavours that pop in your mouth. The waiters are friendly and have a good sense of humour. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you for an awesome experience.

I loved my dining experience at Nikos!Beautiful setting, wonderful food!They have a wide variety of Greek inspired food, my friend and I had the Greek Burger which was absolutely delicious, the beef patty was done to perfection!The cocktails are aesthetically pleasing and delicious.Although there was a mishap with my reservation and that we had ask for condiments, it did not spoil my evening.I will be sure to go back and have more of their delicious food 😋

So great! The decor is refreshing, get a window table and enjoy the view and cool breeze. I had the calamari starters and the 250g pork chops with the most amazing secret dipping sauce I have ever tasted, I may need to go back for takeaway sauce. I was stuffed afterwards. Will definitely be back again and again. Service was on point so a big thanks to the Nikkos Team.

Always a treat to go to Nikos. Even if just for the amazing view of the dam at sunset.However, the food and service is always amazing. I highly recommend the king klip or steak fillet with zucchini chips. Topped off with a lovely Greek coffee and my meal is made! I love the ambience too!

Deliciously flavourful food with excellent service. We had the grilled fish that was just amazing as well as the prawn and calamari pasta, baby chicken smothered in creamy peri-peri sauce, fried calamari, zucchini fritters, haloumi, brinjal stack and trio of dips and pita bread. Top class restaurant. Definitely worth the visit.

A great family venue, loud and vibrant. The food is good. The zucchini fries are the best Ive had and the chocolate-tahini brownies are deliciously overwhelming.

Nice for family dinining but not for a romantic dinners. Friday evening was busy and seems the only way they regulate the temperature is with the double volume windows.

Always have the friendliest service and the most delicious food! Has definitely become our go to restaurant! A little noisy but thats due to a constant demand. Would definitely suggest booking in advance on weekends.Unfortunately the whole outside area is constantly filled with smokers due to limited tables and space outside (despite having no smoking signs on the walls). The outside area is usually quietest which forces us to be either forced to enhale secondhand smoke, or sit inside where it is quite noisy.

Fantastic restaurant. Great, fresh menu. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. The decor is contemporary and clean. The place was busy but the tables are well spaced out so you dont feel like people are on top of you. It is reasonably priced and if you are a medium sized table ir is great to choose a variety of plates and share. Highly recommended. Parking at the Flamingo Shopping Centre where it is situated is free.
