Opens at 4pm on weekday. Pretty chilled place. Heaters outdoor and heard the weekend crowd is a bit noisy. Had a late lunch at 4pm. Happy hour 5-6pm on at the moment .Small menu. Tasty food. Calamari starter was nice with a spicy sauce and Pizzas were great

Nice relaxed, spacious, good selection if beers on tap. Quick service at the bar amd a good menu. After 22:00 the tables get moved and you get to break it down in dance. Id recommend it if you want to hang out with friends

Really an excellent little place for a Friday night hang out. Music pumping from the dj, unique menu and cocktails. (We even tried a sushi type pizza) dance floor and incredible steam punk decor. Bar is stunning. Staff are friendly.

I absolutely love this place. Fantastic food, brilliant selection of craft beers, friendly staff and decor not found anywhere on the planet. All this creates a vibe like nowhere else. You have to experience The Steamworks at least once before you die.

Bottomless bubbles Fridays are always a jam, they play really great music. Location is convenient and the staff is really top notch. Never a dull time at this spot.

The ambience is great. They have live performances, lots of space for lounging, dancing, hosting a birthday celebration, dedicated smoking area with a cool social setup. They have imported beers and craft beers. The food is really amazing as well!!

I went on a Friday night with a big group of my friends, however, we sat down to catch up after a good long while and this venue is not the best place for it. Its packed on Fridays, so its very loud and not the best for a conversation. Other than that the food is good and our waiter was always on hand for more drinks or food. There was an all-you-can-drink champagne special until about 8. So a great place for a jol, but not a sit-down and catch up dinner.

What a great experience. The staff are warm and friendly, like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual Johannesburg restaurant. The venue is fantastically decorated as per the photos. While I found the food above average, I do think my choice of fish and chips, while well prepared was a little underwhelming in terms of seasoning and presentation. The other people in our party where however presented witheals that were well portioned and looked great.Added bonus , wifi is lightning fast.Regards

Was there for a birthday party and had an absolute blast! The DJ was amazing. The food was not so great though, the beers, drinks, vibe and dancing is worth it.

Im an addict for champers and the Bottomless Champers evenings NEVER disappoint. Coupled with great food and once the DJ is on decks, if you need an escape, get yourself here!!

Cannot decide what it is: a pub, a club, maybe a light smattering of restaurant? Who even knows. Dont go to eat unless you like your meal interrupted by tacky radio friendly house music. Decor looks like the Pinterest board of a northern suburbs house wife that googled steampunk that one time. Only in Fourways.

Weekly events and parties coupled with creative decor makes this a good place to visit. Service wasnt great but the quality of the food and the live DJ made it worthwhile.

Pretty cool place, the drinks felt a bit on the pricy side despite not making nice mixes (such as an old Fashioned/old style whiskey).The kitchen closed early and they did not have any form of snack at the bar.Staff was friendly at first but was hard to get their attention, even though the place was not very full.Would go there again, but only if someone else invited me, would not be my first choice.

Met some friends here for dinner. Crowd was a bit raunchy and some very overly zealous displays of affection between some people a few tables over, Made us feel a bit awkward. Wife said that the bathroom basins wer covered in vomit and blocked up and didnt look like anyone was doing anything about it. Food was decent but took a while. By the time it arrived and after the poor toilet experience and very young and drunk and crowd. We gobbled up, paid and left to the fourways farmers market for a much better more relaxed experience! Not worth returning to in my opinion!

The food was good and so was the service. The reason why im giving a three star is because the lack of steampunk-esque food items for a steampunk themed restaurant.

Food was disappointing. Muscles were still frozen, cheese board didnt come with preservs or crackers, calamari dry and tasteless. Aces lager had run out, they never have stock on the weekend.The 1 star is for the waiter who went out of her way to rectify issues. (Zee)This is my 5th visit to this establishment. Worse every time.

The place gets so busy waiters seem overwhelmed. I had chicken wings which turned out to be undercooked, luckily I was given another meal. We called a waiter and asked for the bill, paid and as we were leaving we were accused of not paying, it became so much drama that I know I will not visit anytime soon.
