What an absolutely delicious bar!!!! The food was great, I had the chicken tacos and my partner had the beef burger and both were done to perfection. The golf course in the back made for an amazing back drop and the manager and his staff were an absolute delight. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

It was an emotional get together due to the passing of one of the club members.. The staff were fantastic. Great service and really caring people.

The drinks and food were good, the service is extremely poor. You wait such a long time for food, if youre hungry then get ready to wait. Some of the drinks were disappointing as youre paying a high price for basically a glass of ice.

Food was excellent-good portions, but comes with a hefty price tag. Letdowns was the service-waitress seem to vanish along with all the other staff, could have made more money off customers if staff were more attentive. Venue was nice overlooking the Golf course, however, while I understand that it’s a craft store, at least have some juices available. Pizza was tasty but once again let down buy crust over cooked underneath. The plating, while funky, wasn’t practical as it dripped, oozed and messed all over the table. Have to do something significant to convince me to drive all the way back.

The Green craft bar is amazing, the staff are super friendly and accommodating and the food is indescribable. The atmosphere the staff and decor give off is truest welcoming. There is a range of craft beer and other craft alcoholic beverages and you won’t be spoilt for choice.I have been both for lunch and an evening meal and each offer it’s own unique experience. The views are explicit giving an eagle eye view of the fairways and the final hole of the Modderfontein golf course.You won’t be sorry and on my next trip to SA it will definitely be on my list of things to do.

Was looking forward to this visit, but it did not live up to expectation. It is a lovely, casual venue , with a very wide drinks selection and a beautiful view over the Modderfontein golf course. The golfers that use the venue however, are extremely loud and rowdy and spoil the ambience of the venue. Service is extremely slow in general and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our lunch which was a burger and a plate of chips - we nearly cancelled it and left. The peanut butter burger itself wasnt so great - the burger came in a dry, tasteless pita instead of a bun and the concept doesnt really work, plus the peanut butter was one skimpy blob smeared on the pita. Otherwise the food was quite good. Wont visit again, as the crowd and slow service spoiled it for me.

A little difficult to locate, but a hidden gem if you’re into craft beers! Huuuuge variety of choices, even for non-drinkers as there are a few virgin options. Drinks are reasonably priced. Pair your drink with a pizza or burger, a great place to chill over food and drink with friends.

An excellent spot to have a drink and quick meal with friends. Gorgeous view looking over the golf course, great for sundowners. Staff is friendly and seating is comfortable.

So much fun at the Green Craft Bar.. Good bar food and huge craft beer menu.. Only issue is that drinks are quite expensive.. But there are drink specials to make use of.

A very friendly and accomodating maitred at the door. We pitched up with no reservation and all the tabels were reserved because af the band that was playing later. She got us a table and later moved us outside because the sound check was a bit loud for my six year old. Lots of craft beer to choose from. Imported craft beer aswell. Would really add this place for a date night out with the wife.

Its an awesome place and vibe however its disappointing that the kitchen closes so early. We just made it to get in a quick order and it was good.

Absolutely gorgeous setting! Surrounded by all the greenery of the golf course, we had an Aperol Spritzer which was delicious, lovely for an afternoon cocktail.

Waitress forgot our order. Took over an hour to arrive. Food was dead average. Only craft beers, there are golfers here, get us some normal beer on tap please. Know your audience.Bathrooms, one tap and soap dispenser broken. We had to wait and stack for everyone in the bathroom during covid. Not impressed.

Always a great time! The Green adheres to covid protocols as best they can. Music is good and creates a very relaxing atmosphere overlooking the green. Pub style food. The chicken strips are definitely a winner.

You need BIG NO SMOKING SIGNS.More people smoke inside the restaurant than in the outside area.Staff need to stop congregating at the bar and stand where they can the customers.

Not going back their for the food. All three of us had issues with our food. A pizza served without the pinapple hoping no one would notice. Tacos with a teaspoon of filling was so stingy.The poppers were great.They were good but something has gone wrong here.When their beer menue is restored maybe go back a beer.

We were a bit disappointed that there was a very limited choice of craft beers, and the only choice of wine was sweet Rosè. The cow burger was worth the wait .... very delicious and the fries were divine! The butter chicken wrap was disappointing as it was nothing like butter chicken. There was no hint of any butter chicken (curry sauce) at all. In fact it was just a grilled chicken wrap. With no music paying in the background, the ambiance was zilch. Service was adequate, but had to ask our waitress to take our food order as she seemed to ignore us after delivering our drinks. The food arrived at different times. 3 of us got our burgers while the chicken wrap came 7 minutes later.

Highly recommend for a sundowner with friends. If youre not a beer fan there are delicious ciders to try... (Rekordelig is the best) and also some amazing cocktails. The food was also good.

This place deserves a well earned 5/5. Located over the Modderfontein Golf Course 18th hole the views and setting are sublime. The food is good, although choices are limited. I recommend the burgers, absolutely delicious. As its a craft pub you will get to savour many new tastes, anything from beer to rum. Service is great. Not a place for kids at all.

The staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating.......no orders that I know of was wrong.....food was delicious......we where a group of 9 people......our slips where split so we could pay individually and no mistakes where made

Great for a drink after a game of golf I guess, but wouldnt go out of my way to go here. They certainly dont go out of their way to accommodate you even if you prearrange and book.

The Green truly is a Gem. I arranged for my fiancés 30th birthday to be at the Green and I was so happy with the warm reception we recieved. The friendly staff helped me arrange the decor and they made sure we were comfortable and well spaced out.Nola was our waitress and she was professional patient and kind. She knew the menu well and made spot on drink reccomendations. There are some truly inspired pizza topping combinations and the chicken tenders and chips are some of the best I have ever eaten.The mojito is also perfection.The live guitarist also agreed to sing happy birthday to my fiance as the staff walked down with his birthday cake. This was a truly wonderful evening. We will definitely be going back to the Green.

If you are looking for a rustic homely place, that gives guests an authentic family vibe. This place is for you. The service is brilliant, giving first time visitors the feel that they have been coming here for years. The burger was great, but patty tasted store-bought rather than the home made feel that the rest of the place lends itself to. This however is easily overlooked, when the management and staff make you feel like you are the only customer in a busy restaurant. Well done guys.

Phenomenal service and atmosphere...a must for every occasion

This place is so promising, it’s just often missing a vibe. Good drinks, good food, great location and view. Probably a good spot to get out with kids because it’s often pretty quiet so you don’t really have to worry about them annoying other patrons. Also a great spot for when it’s raining, can still enjoy the view but be totally covered.

A bit out of the way for some people but definitely worth the drive. The restaurant is beautiful with a gorgeous view. It creates a very relaxed atmosphere great to enjoy with friends. I would recommend the pizza (although all the food I tasted was truly fantastic) and one of their huge variety of craft beers to go along with it.

Great selection of craft beer (no SAB beers) and the food was amazing. Each person at the table had something different and everybody was very happy, but I can personally recommend the pizza. Nice view of the golf course too, providing some entertainment with lunch.

Very nice venue outside of the usual places in the East of Johannesburg. We attended a birthday party and we were well attended by staff. They have a great selection of beers and spirits. The pizzas were amazing. There is a great atmosphere for people to talk and the music wasn’t too loud.

What a spot for a Weekend lunch!!! As we adore and love our craft beers and ciders, this place did not disappoint! I find it difficult to locate my favourite on-tap drink: Soweto Cherry cider, the Green delivered. I even had this cider on tap at my wedding but most places that showcase it on the menu, disappoint (no stock). Their food is definitely a pleasant surprise to the palette, we had proper tacos and a sweet pizza, a freaking sweet pizza with strawberries that I will be ordering again. Their service was prompt, friendly and attentive, ask for Pumi. Will make a point of going back for my birthday.

Burger patties nice but I still prefer a proper bun , not the Pita bread for a burger. I must mention the Chips , it was fantastic. The prices for drinks are also very affordable. I had the chicken livers and that was tasty and very spicy. Will go again
