One of the worst virgin actives in joburg. Avoid if you can

One of my favourite Virgin Actives. Really well maintained club in a great area and awesome staff and trainers. Feels welcoming and also professional and always get in a good weights session here. Really motivating place to be.

This is my home gym and Im very happy with how it is laid out.They have adapted well to lockdown regulations.A lift in place for disabled patrons as well as a disabled bathroom and pool chair lift.

Not enough equipment in the weights section, no sense of organising the machines managers excuse for not rearranging its all bolted to the ground

I just love the atmosphere there

Your valuables are not safe, my gym locker (which had a padlock on) was broken into and my phone, watch and headphones were stolen. Staff acted like it was a usual occurrence.

Great gym. But smell of chlorine permeates the air.

Looking for a place to clam your mind and burn calories, virgin active Greenstone is one of the best clubs to do so, also you can have a quick protein booster post workout and relax, my personal favorite is natures protein.

Im so glad they have a proper stairmaster

The worst service ever. My last review got removed??Virgin active will tell you that you will get the first month for free to get you to join and then will still take the money from you account.An email recently got sent out to freeze the account for 2 months due to covid, which I sent. And I still got debit ordered. Pathetic service. I am cancelling my contract and will never join Virgin Active again.I have had such great service in the last, but the Stoneridge virgin active has let me down considerably.

Gym classes are not up to standard

One of my favourite places to have a workout. Ample safe parking with all the facilities to train to your hearts content.friendly helpful staff makes the experience even better. Its a great option if you deciding on a gym that can become a second home

One of the best gyms Ive been to worldwide. It is very clean and staff are super helpful. Trainers are all around to offer free advise and cheer you on! Ive only gone during the quiet times and had ample access to all equipment but I heard it gets crowded during peak times causing delays for some. Only problem is the climate control. I think dressing rooms and pool area should have isolated climate control settings to offer a slightly warmer environment. My daughters lips would turn blue from the cold. While the ambient temperature is ideal for the gym itself, the pool area should be completely closed off with warmer settings. I would have loved to continue teaching my daughter to swim there but it got too cold for her.

Friendly staff and I enjoy my workouts there.

Beautiful Gym. Very clean! Pity that some members will use a piece of equipment then leave it dripping with sweat. Those then coming behind them have to clean up before they can exercise. Where are your manners? There are cleaners that do move around cleaning. But how can they follow every inconsiderate member.Also dont like campers. They put a towel over a device and think its theirs for as long as they want it.Staff so good and professional.

Its a well equipped gym, clean and tidy and I appreciate the music is not too loud. Only gripe, as on Feb 2020 their lift is still broken. It was broken in Dec 2019. I dont use it but I see cleaning staff carrying heavy machines up and down the stairs which is not only dangerous but unfair on them.

Has all the facilities but it closes at 9.30pm rather than 10pm weekdays. There is also always a couple of treadmill tvs that dont have signal... which is not acceptable. Virgin active should be the best. Showers need to be cleaned more frequently because they sometimes feel slimy.

My iPhone was stolen from the Ladies change rooms on the 12th of February and the staff at Virgin active seems absolutely not bothered. They did not even bother to call me or show any concern. The manager has the audacity to tell me theft happens everywhere. I would like to warn all members of Virgin Active- Greenstone, the people who stole my phone are professional, who used phishing website to access my data on the phone. Please BEWARE !!!!

This was my favourite Virgin Active, and now since recently, I feel like Im outside, in Canada, in the snow, naked... Thats how cold it is with all the aircon. Lovely staff though. If you get a little cough later in the day, perhaps even the flu, you know why.

I love this gym, went for the 1st time and did not want to leave. everything is spaced out nicely and its beautiful gym to look at and be in.

Very, very nice! Everything is well looked after, all the staff and trainers are approachable, can enjoy some Kauai, and sit on some comfortable couches while checking your emails. Did I mention theyll look after your kids while you gym? Very, very nice.

Really nice and clean gym. Recently renovated as well however still the same equipment. I train at 5AM and there is usually a terrible damp smell which I Believe is coming from the pool and have tried to address several times but nothing is ever done about it. The weight section is unfortunately very limited coming from a planet fitness but if you are looking for a nice gym to do your cardio and want to be part of group classes then this is a great gym. VERY BUSY during peak times and you end up not being able to finish a work out properly as all the equipment is busy and has people waiting. If possible try and avoid these times.

Its convenient and thats about it. Only one squat rack. Atrocious bars. Zest plates which are inaccurate. Needs a serious upgrade of weight equipment.Edit: Eventually canceled my VA contract. Commercial gym. Enough said.

I love this place simply because of the friendly staff, open space, natural light and fantastic view!

The Aircon is always not working, I think they dont care about their members. Last week the ladies scale was not working.. when you ask at the reception you dont get clear answers.

Always too hot. Not conducive to good work out. Even the water chiller is always warm. The mens change room is claustrophobic no cooling. The guys move the fan to blow on one person it is too hot to get changed. The staff are disinterested. The showers are a trickle. Very poor compared to Karaglens std. Soap in the shower always empty very rarely see a cleaner.

Awesome gym. Enough parking and it not too crowded. This one lady there thinks that the gym card and the bank card use the same technology 😂

Awesome staff Happiness Maziza is such an amazing , helpful lady who goes out of her way to help customers. She really is the right person to have as first point of contact when approaching this gym to enquire. Really good with customers. Gym is easy to access and close parking proximity. Staff makes such a difference.

Great gym with state of the art equipment. Aircon doesnt always work though which turns the gym into a sauna at peak times.

Great place, not as buzy as some and have steam and sauna rooms.

This gym had everything you need. Great pilates, not so great spinning.

I have an off peak membership and the times I go the facility is immaculate. Any faulty machinery is repaired very quickly, the staff are extremely friendly. My daughter goes to club V and she loves it.

The free weights area is Very small, especially during peak times, and you will have to wait a while to use certain machines and weights. Otherwise the gym is very modern and all equipment is in good condition

Very nice, new equipment (brand new treadmills). Its neat and clean also has nice equipment which is not at all Virgin Actives.

Modern Virgin Active that comes with all equipment and luxuries one would expect.Pools temperature is always wonderful.Unfortunately Wi-Fi does signal does not reach the weight area.

Wonderfully friendly staff and a drive for wellness. The studios are always packed and buzzing. My only down side is that ventilation is a problem in the studios, there are so many people allowed entry into the class that there is not enough air to function at your peak levels. I have made this statement before but no efforts for change have been made.

My home gym. Of the gyms Ive visited around Jhb, this one takes the trophy on view appeal when on the treadmill - massive glass see through! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Equipment is on point.

Lovely view, latest equipment, clean. Does get busy though. Has steam room and sauna.

I am appalled by the service I am unable to get from this specific branch. I have been thrown from pillar to post by Dumaza and Innocentia (from Discovery) just to get my Vitality activated. The process started in January and to this day, it is still not active.

Only one squat rack and smith machine , way to busy during peak hours. More than enough for beginners and intermediate gym rats. No provisoon for weight lifters or power lifters either.

They have an amazing workout view but they dont have shower facilities.

Great facilities, well kept and maintained pool and equipment as a heads up theres just a few pros and cons so fyi theres no preacher machine but there is two preacher benches standing and sitting. There IS power plates and monkey bars . Theres chest press and pec deck machines however they dont have the weight plate chest press machine. They have tons of seated and standing cable machines but not a back fly machine. All in all amongst the great virgin actives

Do not gym here between 4pm and 8pm it gets far too crowded and the free weights area is too small but outside of that peak time its great

I liked the club but not so keen about the positioning of its change rooms and lack of a spa pool

I like the lay out of the club and staff members are so friendly there as well

Has a wide range of machines. On the down side its very popular leading to it sometimes being a bit too busy to handle all of the gym-goers during rush hours.

Friendly and helpful staff and, providing the lift is working, it is disability friendly.
